Chapter 22 : Apocalypse (4)

A broken game. This game is beyond broken.

The tutorial NPC died on me.

I considered restarting, but I wasn’t confident I could take down that monstrous creature again.

Even now, I only won because I could block its view in the confined space.

My enhanced physical abilities allowed me to see myself objectively.

Just what kind of player is the MaWang who beat this?

Ultimately, I had no choice but to continue alone.

Hidden routes are always exciting.

“I’ll just keep going. There are supposed to be other survivors out there, right?”

– No, you need Joanna to create the vaccine.

– I can’t lose my friend. I can’t lose my queen.

– All the survivors are so frustrating. The personality implementation is top-notch, lol.

So, I need that sexual harasser to finish the game.

Just as I was about to quit, donation messages exploded.

*BehindThePillarSpaceFound* donated 100 Candies!

– Try using the ID card you got.

“You guys said you didn’t know either. Could it be in the starting area?”

At the viewers’ suggestion, I retraced my steps, searching for a place to use the keycard.

Of course, I kept my guard up and collected any armor I could find, in case something else popped out.

The research lab had an eerie atmosphere, even more so because of all the destruction the monster had caused.

“Is it real that this is a zombie game, but I’ve only seen special zombies?”

– Beat the tutorial, lol.

– You’re the first player to kill Joanna and survive solo.

– We want to backseat game, but there’s nothing to even suggest.

Exposed wires sparked, and the incessant siren showed no signs of stopping.

The lab was a mess, with shattered glass everywhere, making it hard to move around.

But there wasn’t a single zombie or person in sight.

“So, why do you think there are no bodies or other zombies in such a large space?”

Marked as ‘Research Lab 1’, the area was surprisingly large for a tutorial, filled with countless rooms and corridors.

A suspicious museum, library, sleeping quarters—it had everything.

It was so perfect that it was, in fact, suspicious.

– Yeah…

– I never thought about it because I always ran away with Joanna, but is the map this big?

– This is the first time I’ve seen a museum.

“You guys know nothing. Absolutely nothing.”

– I love being treated like this. Keep looking at me like that.

– Where did the developer who liked hearing this stuff go?

– Give us a nickname, too.

– Like ‘WooSeok’s Crew’ or something.

“Ugh… ‘WooSeok’s Crew’? Just the name makes me cringe. Let’s do that next time, next time.”

The game comes first.

The silence was unnerving.

I tightened my grip on my bow and moved forward.

But despite my apprehension, there was nothing unusual about the place where the creature first appeared.

It looked like it had come from the giant glass container, but there were no other clues.

“I don’t see any way forward. Is this the end of the line?”

– We’ve looked everywhere, can’t find anything.

– Let’s replay and save Joanna!

– The wedding dress has an amazing decadent vibe…

“Ugh…I just wasted my time. I’ll just eat dinner and do this tomorrow.”

Despite the viewers’ protests, my motivation was gone.

The disappointment was as great as my expectations, so it couldn’t be helped.

“The developers are ridiculous, aren’t they? Nothing in this huge space. The equipment is unnecessarily high quality,

but how are you supposed to save Joanna while fighting that monster?”

Just as I was about to log out, complaining, a wall behind the giant glass container suddenly opened.

With a rumbling groan, the heavy wall slid aside, and a figure emerged.

“What? Why are you back? That b*tch who ran away… Huh?”

“Huh?”

An elderly woman limped out from behind the wall and stopped when she saw me.

She had the unmistakable look of a mad scientist, emerging from some hidden place.

Without hesitation, I drew my bow and shot her.

– That reaction speed though, lol.

– Honestly, I would’ve been stuttering.

– The arrow hit her, but my heart hurts…

– That’s an arrhythmia, dude. You should see a doctor.

“Gyaaa—! Wh-What?! You…!”

I shot her good leg, and she collapsed.

The fact that her other leg was already injured made it seem even more pathetic.

“Just like before, I’m not a woman-hater or anything.”
– If a woman gets hit by a man, that’s a reward, b*tch.

– That woman sexually harassed him with her eyes first.

– Even the police would arrest her.

I guess the world has changed. If I’d done this in a realistic game like this in the past, I’d be getting canceled, but the

viewers seemed to think it was perfectly normal.

Perhaps because of my helmet, she didn’t recognize me as I walked in front of her as she tried to crawl back to where

she came from.

“So, does anyone know this woman?”

– Nope, first time seeing her.

– Usually someone like this would be the final villain or boss, but this is genuinely the first time we’ve seen her.

– MaWang has played this game for dozens of hours and seen all the routes, but this woman never appeared.

– Try taking off your helmet and seducing her.

– Per… vert…

– Stop it!

– Doesn’t she look familiar though?

– Who?

“It’s Joanna. This is Joanna’s mom.”

How could I forget the face of the woman whose first encounter with me began with sexual assault?

She even died satisfied with that act.

“You’re trying to kill your own mother?!”

The white-haired woman mistook me for Joanna and started screaming at me as if she wanted to kill me.

She even brought up what seemed like childhood family issues and hurled insults at me, showing no signs of tiring.

“Why do they give background stories even to NPCs like this? The insults never end.”

The important thing was the information she had, so I just waited for her to calm down, chatting with my viewers.

They seemed entertained simply by watching my face and seeing a new route in the game, patiently waiting without

complaint.

“I’m wearing a helmet. What’s so interesting that you guys are making such a fuss?”

– Dude, do you even understand the appeal of the contrast between the wedding dress and the motorcycle helmet?

– The best thing Yena ever did was drag WooSeok into streaming…

– Yena’s off-stream today, but she’s still watching, lol.

– Manager) She’s just making sure he’s doing well!

“Thanks, Yena. It’s more fun than I thought, streaming.”

– Manager) No, not that…

– Manager) Actually, I also wanted to…

*Stop!* donated 100 Candies!

– Freeze!

“How does that guy donate over the limit every single day?”

While we were chatting, Joanna’s mother finally seemed to tire and stopped talking.

Her eyes were bloodshot, glaring at me with murderous intent. It made me wonder if this level of realism was really

necessary.

“So, did you control that giant zombie?”

“You… You’re not Joanna.”

“She asked me a favor.”

“So, she knew… In that case!”

I must have chosen the wrong dialogue option.

The woman, lying on the ground twitching, spoke in despair.

In situations like this, it was always best to kill them before something happened.

The woman died without even a final scream.

“For the last time, I don’t have any particular prejudice.”

Maybe it’s because of the values of the original world, but I’m getting self-conscious about the looks I’m getting every time I hit a woman.

I tried to go through the open wall since I got nothing from her, but I heard something opening, perhaps because I

was a bit late in killing her.

*IKnowThatSound* donated 100 Candies!

– I know that sound!

“What is it?”

The donator didn’t add a comment.

“Hey, what is it?!”

– Lmfaooooo

– There are two things Koreans hate the most: one is being interrupted…
