Chapter 30: Becoming a CEO (2)

Saturday, City Hall Station.

People move towards their respective destinations.

Some stop and circle in one spot, but that doesn’t mean they’ve lost their destination.

They’re simply waiting for someone to arrive after reaching the destination first.

I picked up my phone to check the time.

1:45 PM.

I wondered if I’d arrived too early, but I figured it was better than being late for the appointment, so I shoved my phone into my pocket.

Only one song was playing on repeat through the earphones in my ears.

It was a very old pop song, a classic, but probably unknown to young people these days.

I spent the time thinking about various things.

If the interview goes well today, I’ll have to pay them regularly, right?

If I upload about two videos a week, I’ll do one and the editor will do the other, and then there’s the thumbnails…

I realized I needed to cut down on spending, so I thought about where I could reduce expenses.

Should I cut down on food costs first?

Buying rice in bulk at once would be cheaper… but if I buy too many side dishes at once, I won’t be able to eat them all before they expire, so I should buy them in small amounts even if they’re more expensive.

The foolish thought crossed my mind that I should cut down on hobby expenses, but I chuckled.

I’m trying to find expenses to cut down on by creating unnecessary expenses…

I felt pathetic for no reason.

I picked up my phone again to check the time.

1:55 PM.

If they are generally punctual, they would have arrived earlier, so I was getting anxious.

Surely they won’t arrive exactly at 2:00 PM.

But it would seem petty to urge them with a message before 2:00 PM, so I decided to just wait.

I crossed my arms, thinking about scolding them for not keeping the appointment time.

But Cha-in didn’t come.

The time was 2:10 PM.

[Hey, you b*tch, why aren’t you here?]

I couldn’t hold back and sent a message.

I waited 10 more minutes before sending it, so I shouldn’t seem petty!

After sending the message and waiting for a moment, a reply came.

[?]

[What do you mean ‘?,’ why aren’t you here?]

How audacious of them to just send a question mark when they’re late.

I was thinking about giving them a good scolding today when,

[What the f*ck are you talking about? I’m at City Hall Station.]

That reply came.

I looked around, but I didn’t see anyone who seemed like Cha-in.

In this situation, there should be someone looking around like me, but since there wasn’t, it seemed like they weren’t here, at least.

[What, where are you?]

[I’m at Exit 10 here.]

[Why are you going there, you crazy b*tch? I told you to meet at City Hall Station.]

[? Weren’t we meeting at the cafe? I’m in front of Exit 10.]

[You f*cking—]

[Stay there, I’m going now, aish.]

I clearly told them to meet at City Hall Station, so why is this b*tch going ahead on their own?

I shoved my phone into my pocket and headed for Exit 10.

“Aish… f*ck, this is subtly painful.”

As I climbed the stairs of the exit, I felt the discomfort of this body once again.

The burden on the Cooper’s ligaments in my chest as my breasts shook up and down while climbing the stairs was a subtle burden.

Even with a bra, it’s like this, so how painful would it be to jump around without a bra in those service scenes in anime?

I climbed the stairs, thinking I would never do that, and made eye contact with a woman.

She was so tall that I had to look up, and her overall style was very good.

The dark circles under her eyes gave the impression of someone jaded by life, but she had a cool beauty vibe?

Her neatly trimmed bob haircut further emphasized her cool image, creating synergy.

And I turned my gaze away from the eyes I had met to find Cha-in.

There’s no way such a person could be my manager b*tch.

“What are you doing?”

I heard a familiar voice.

I turned my head in the direction of the voice, and the woman from before was there.

I must be losing my hearing.

“Hey, why are you ignoring me, you b*tch?”

“…”

I was half-expecting it, so I turned my head again in the direction of the voice.

The woman from before was there.

“Are you Cha-in?”

“It’s me.”

“Why?”

“What do you mean, ‘Why’?”

I looked at the woman, no, my manager b*tch.

I couldn’t see my own face, but I probably had a nasty expression.

I unconsciously blurted out my thoughts.

“The world is unfair.”

How can the b*stard who started beefing with me from the first chat on my small stream look like this?

That characterless a**hole?

“You’re starting sht as soon as we meet, you crazy btch.”

“Hey.”

“What.”

“Why are you so pretty?”

“Did you get hit in the head?”

For the first time, I felt grateful to the old man who turned me into a woman.

Thanks to becoming a woman, I didn’t feel anything when I saw Cha-in.

The thought that I might have been attracted to this b*stard if I had met him as a man made me feel disgusted.

“…Huh?”

I suddenly noticed that Cha-in’s gaze wasn’t on my eyes.

It was a little lower.

Probably looking at my chest.

“What are you doing.”

“I thought it was a camera filter, but…”

“Is that why you came out today without saying anything?”

“Yeah.”

The answer came back quickly, as if there was nothing to hide.

Yeah, look all you want.

It’s not like it’ll wear out from looking.

I casually ignored Cha-in’s gaze and turned around.

“Let’s go to the cafe. I hope there are seats.”

“Unless there’s a lockdown because of the epidemic, there will be seats.”

“That’s right, what if they say we can’t use the store.”

I walked to the cafe with a small worry.

“This isn’t padding, is it?”

“Don’t be ridiculous, seriously.”

Fortunately, the cafe wasn’t closed for in-store dining.

Cha-in and I sprayed alcohol sanitizer on our hands and entered the store.

“Welcome, can I help you with your order?”

I looked up and carefully examined the menu.

Even if it’s not now, we’ll have to order some simple desserts when the interviewees come later.

“I’ll have a caramel macchiato.”

“…How can you drink that? It tastes like it’ll rot your teeth. We’ll have one caramel macchiato and one iced Americano.”

“In this weather?”

“I’d rather freeze to death than not have iced Americano.”

“I’ll help you with the payment.”

After paying, I took the buzzer and headed to a window seat.

As I sat down on the chair opposite Cha-in, the damn manager started arguing.

“Hey, that’s where the interviewees are going to sit, why are you sitting there? Are you stupid?”

“Why are you sitting next to each other already? We can move when people come later, why are you making a fuss over nothing?”

“What time are they coming?”

“3 o’clock.”

“What time is it?”

“2:30.”

“…Did I really need to come this early?”

“It’s our first time meeting today.”

I rested my chin on my hands and said.

“Ms. Song Cha-in, you applied for the manager position, right?”

“I never said I’d be a manager.”

“A humble attitude with no desire for the manager position, that’s the kind of talent I wanted. You’re hired!”

When I made a light joke, Cha-in gave me the middle finger.

It’s too much to do that over a joke.

“Cha-in, it’s funny to ask now, but how old are you?”

“Me? I’m twenty-eight this year and almost twenty-nine.”

“Wow, you’re so old.”

“Do you want to die?”

I thought they were older to some extent, but I didn’t think they’d be older than me.

That’s why I spoke informally.

“Now that I think about it, it’s funny, why are you speaking informally?”

Cha-in pointed out that I was speaking informally.

“Why, should I use honorifics?”

“You should, you’re two years younger than me.”

“Okay, Cha-in unnie.”

“…Ew.”

Cha-in frowned and told me to stop.

Why are you complaining when you told me to use honorifics?

Anyway, I’m relieved that they said I could speak informally with their permission.

I didn’t want to use honorifics with them.

“I’m really curious, can I ask you something?”

“Depends on what it is.”

“It’s not related to the broadcast at all, so I’m a bit cautious.”

I looked at Cha-in and asked with pure curiosity.

“What do you do? I honestly can’t guess.”

“Job? I’m a civil servant.”

“A civil servant?”

The person who came to my broadcast for the first time and started sh*t is a civil servant?

“The world is coming to an end.”

“What, is there something wrong with me?”

“The fact that the b*tch who started beefing with me from the first chat, saying I’m so bad at the game, is a civil servant in this country makes my head spin.”

“You are so bad at it.”

“Okay, let’s die today, you b*stard.”

While Cha-in and I were bickering, the buzzer rang.

I handed the buzzer to Cha-in and pointed to the counter with my thumb.

“Go get it, manager.”

“No, you called me out here today, so you should get it.”

“You’ll have to get it when the interviewees come later. I can’t get it then, so you go get it.”

“You’re really bossing me around.”

Cha-in grumbled but took the buzzer and headed to the counter.

Even though they complain, they’re a great manager.

So I hope they’ll be my lifetime manager.

[~♪♬]

While Cha-in was gone, the phone rang.

The screen read ‘Editor Applicant.’

“Hello?”

“Is this Hiro-nim?”

“Yes, it is.”

“I’m almost there, what’s the name of the cafe?”

“It’s a cafe called Amande written in English? If you see a person with white hair sitting by the window, come find me.”

“Ah~ okay! I see you! I’ll be right there!”

“Okay.”

The call ended.

From the voice, they seemed very enthusiastic.

I put my phone on the table and looked out the window, and a woman was running towards me with a bow.

“I wonder what kind of person they’ll be.”

Half expectation, half worry.

I greeted the first interviewee with mixed feelings.

Hiro and Song Cha-in’s character settings, two of the four main characters.

Please understand that this is a bikini to clearly show the important differences.

Actually, I don’t think I need your understanding.

At the current time, Hiro is 26 and Song Cha-in is 28, and when the year passes, they will be 27 and 29 respectively.
