The story of Act Two has finally come to an end… Why “finally”? Because I only realized while writing that arranging the plot in the outline and actually putting pen to paper are still two very different things. I believe that after reading Act Two—assuming one is willing to read this far—you’ll probably feel that the flow of its plot is not as smooth as Act One. Before I actually started writing, my plan for the book’s overall structure was: Acts One, Three, and Five (if there is a Fifth Act) would focus on battle-heavy plots, while Acts Two and Four would serve as transitional chapters.
So in my original outline, the battles planned for Act Two were actually even fewer than what ended up in the final version—the only combat sequences I had initially intended for Act Two were the “sisters-dancer boss fight” on the ship and the final tower-climb battle. The apartment fight and the meteor-hammer boss battle at Galaxy Manor were things I added midway while writing…
