How to survive without dying at the hands of the Emperor

I was possessed. Of all things, I became the henchman who tried to lure the protagonist Emperor out with a honey trap to kill him.
I didn’t want my assassination plot discovered and my head chopped off by the Emperor, so I decided to live quietly and die of old age.
I don’t know how to return to my current life; for now, I just need to survive.

However, the longer I live, the stranger the story gets.
The more I try to avoid getting entangled with the protagonist, the more this bastard starts to obsess over me.
