The Phantom of the Library

Isca : The 4th Prince of the Cadmus Empire and Acting Chancellor. A capable strategist skilled in political maneuvering. He trusts science more than magic.
Leaf : A platinum-blonde, white-skinned s*ave belonging to the Tower of Twilight and Anguish. Born with memories of his past life, he becomes entangled in incidents as a result.

Born as a s*ave with the memories of the great wizard Baskerville intact but possessing not a shred of magical power, Leaf was earning a pittance under the name “The Phantom of the Library,” taking on commissions for circle problems that did not require mana. However, this led to him being accused of colluding with an enemy nation, and he was captured by Prince Isca and subjected to brutal torture. The cynical and cold Prince’s sharp eyes did not miss even the slightest lie from Leaf, and his interest was excessively persistent, far beyond what could be seen as merely an attempt to uncover the truth.
Fortunately, Leaf displayed quick wits and escaped the torture, but he was dragged back to the Prince for a different reason. Prince Isca’s promise to only persuade him gently this time turns into abuse, reprimands, and excessive attention that ensnares Leaf.
Leaf, who knows nothing of the world or human affairs except magic, is bewildered by Isca’s behavior, while Isca is simply displeased with the people around him marveling at the appearance of this ugly and wretched s*ave… Yet, Isca never lets Leaf leave his side for a single moment, justifying it with the plausible excuse that “it’s all to find the traitor.” But is that really the whole reason? The chaotic coming-of-
age story of the naive, precocious s*ave Leaf and the sly Prince Isca, who might actually be a pushover?! (Well, not exactly….)
