Chapter 48 : Stormforge: The Descent of Divine Wrath

The first method was a technique that could be used easily. Like a bunker buster, it would penetrate the hard carapace and create an explosive force to turn the interior into a mess.

But how would I get the force inside the carapace? That was simple.

The three-pronged mouth. That was my target.

Several air bullets began to surround me. The bullets, gaining speed as they rotated, were shot into Rakallushad’s mouth.

The creature greedily opened its mouth and swallowed the bullets without properly checking them.

Confirming this, I focused my mind and controlled the air bullets that had entered its body. I gave each bullet an explosive force to tear apart the internal organs.

[?!]

I could feel the creature writhing. The operation to turn the interior into a mess was effective. The speed at which the magic stone pillars were created also noticeably decreased, as if it was related to the creature’s condition.

But the next moment, something unexpected happened.

[Solia!!]

Dark red energy began to gather in the creature’s mouth, and then it was fired into the sky with a voice that seemed to tear through the atmosphere.

A laser, or breath. The creature used it.

Because of that, I, who was concentrating my mind, had no choice but to avoid it in the storm. My concentration was broken, and the air bullets that were steadily destroying the creature’s body disappeared.

Part of the storm collapsed under the creature’s dark red breath, revealing the blue sky behind it. And through one of the holes that were created, the moon, still clinging to the horizon, became visible.

Rakallushad opened its mouth towards the moon.

‘······It’s recovering.’

The creature’s body began to move vigorously and strongly, as it had before the attack.

In the end, the first operation was practically a failure.

Then there was only the second method.

The second was simpler than the first. It was to inflict damage that could not be broken or recovered at once.

However, the question was whether I could do it now.

Until now, I have almost always fought against many. Therefore, my fighting method was also carried out in a way that effectively inflicted damage on multiple targets, such as causing a storm.

But now the opponent is only one. It was virtually a boss battle.

Against one boss, area attacks are weak.

I needed a technique just for that creature.

‘Remember.’

What can I do?

I can control water and wind, and weakly, lightning. I can fly, and I have sharp teeth and claws.

What can’t that thing do?

It can’t fly. It can never chase me.

What do I have to do?

I have to kill that thing. At once, so that it cannot recover.

‘Utilize.’

Who am I?

I am a blue dragon. But before that, I am human.

What is the difference between humans and blue dragons?

  • ·····It is that they widen the gap with other creatures through tools.

When I reached that point, I remembered the water sword that I had roamed the mountain with last night. The one I made in the shape of the weapon I was most familiar with, to help as quietly as possible.

The water drawn from the sea east of Estel killed the red demons in an instant through its soft yet hard nature.

Again, I recall.

What am I capable of using?

I can handle water. At the same time, I can also handle wind and lightning.

What do humans create and utilize?

Tools.

I reached a conclusion.

I will create a single sword to kill only that thing. There were enough materials.

A huge being in which water, wind, and lightning are mixed together.

That is, a storm.

I will forge a storm and cut off Rakallushad’s life.

Boom!

[Gather at my command and take that life.]

I calmly spoke to the storm. Then, the storm began to change its form with a willing heart.

Before long, a single sword was created.

The atmosphere trembled with awe.

“We have to get out of here as quickly as possible!!”

Arnus Count shouted to his subordinates, who were engulfed in awe, and drew his sword.

Then the subordinates, who belatedly took their eyes off the sky, were embarrassed and grabbed their weapons.

If you show a gap in the battlefield, your life will disappear in an instant.

But even so, the Count couldn’t get angry with them. He himself had been stunned when he saw that being, no, that god.

Like a star that had descended with its own will.

It was a sight that no one in the Count’s territory, let alone Arnus Count, had ever seen.

It was impossible to equate the monster under the ground and the being in the sky, despite their shared traits of being large and long.

It was blasphemy.

Was it the same being that was now pouring malice into the earth and the one controlling the storm full of divinity in the sky?

It couldn’t be.

Arnus Count looked at the being, borrowing Jonan’s words, a god called the Dragon God, reverently.

And soon, as the Dragon God disappeared into the storm, he quickly regained his senses.

First of all, we had to get out of this storm and landslide. Only then could he worship, or thank.

“Don’t think about anything, just focus on getting out!”

“Yes!!”

“Jonan, I’m sorry again!”

“Co, Count?!”

Once again, Jonan, who was slung over the Count’s shoulder, had to focus on holding onto the hilt.

“Left hillside! Red demons!”

“Ignore them! Right now we have to get out of this fight!”

If there had been a little leeway, the Count would have chosen to reduce the number of red demons for safety. But now he had no choice but to let them follow.

However, thanks to focusing on escaping, the investigation team was able to quickly descend to where the base camp was. The base camp was already a mess with the debris that Rakallushad had scattered as he emerged.

“Count!”

“What’s wrong!”

“Look there, to the right…!”

“······Magic stones?”

Following Jonan’s cry, he turned his head and saw huge rock pillars rising near the monster. And those pillars were exuding a familiar red energy.

Soon, one of the pillars rose and soared into the sky. It was where the Dragon God was.

“No!!”

Jonan’s scream was heard. But fortunately, the investigation team’s worries did not happen. The Dragon God gently twisted his body and returned the pillar that had attacked him to its owner.

“Phew······.”

“It’s not the time to be relieved! Look behind you!”

At the Count’s words, everyone looked back. The mountain, which had been preparing for winter, was turning red. The entire mountain was being petrified.

If you inhale the dust of the magic stone or touch the magic stone, the magic stone slowly blooms in your body. But if you were caught up in that phenomenon, it was obvious that your body itself would turn into a magic stone before you even realized it.

Right now, it was clear that things like trees were turning red in their original form.

In the end, the investigation team put all their remaining strength into their feet. The horses and carriages they had brought to the base camp were already dead or gone. The approaching petrification phenomenon and the red demons. And the falling stamina.

In the end, one of the knights, who had been raising Aura during the several hours of escape, collapsed. Then all the moving knights stopped.

“Go first! I’ll follow you!!”

“I can’t! Get up quickly, you bastard!!”

But the knight couldn’t get up easily. Then Arnus Count stepped forward.

“Failer, take Jonan. Hurry up and strengthen the defenses.”

“······I understand!”

“Now, get up.”

The Count sent the investigation team ahead first, and then immediately cut down the red demons that were following behind. The Count, who still showed a strong appearance, was also drenched in sweat.

“I’m sorry.”

“Let’s talk when we get back.”

The Count carried the knight on his back and followed the investigation team.

‘Will it be safe to go back to the city?’

It wasn’t. The red demons would knock on the gates, and that petrification phenomenon would engulf the city.

Perhaps the knights who were ordered to go back first would guide the evacuation, but since the population of the city was quite large, damage would occur.

‘If only there was a way to stop it here······.’

“Count!! Watch out!!”

Boom!!

Suddenly, the Count’s vision flickered. The sudden impact threw the tired Count and the knight into the air and made them fall.

What happened? The Count barely raised his body from the ground and looked around, and a huge object entered his eyes.

It was a dark red rock pillar.

From afar, the monster kept throwing rock pillars at the Dragon God. Some of them did not reach the Dragon God and fell back down, breaking into several pieces and flying all over the Count’s territory.

The fragments had now hit the Count.

“De, Dewin, are you, okay?”

“I’m fine···.”

The voice of the knight saying that was not good to say. Dewin was lying right next to the rock pillar. The dust that appeared when the rock pillar collided with the ground was covering Dewin.

An injured subordinate, a threat that was approaching.

The Count could no longer move. An expression of resignation settled on his face.

‘God.’

Then, he looked up at the sky. It was to chase away God.

And he witnessed it.

The roaring monster, the overlooking Dragon God. And the storm that had disappeared.

And a huge sword that appeared in the middle of it.

“Ah······.”

As soon as the Count’s faint sound was heard, that sword fell towards the monster.

It was a true punishment from heaven.
