Chapter 13: Find your own way

The shard of power that Yi showed was more powerful than any power I had ever seen. Strangely enough, his existence was not believable, but the energy emanating from him seemed to prove why he was able to survive in the brutal battlefield.

But why do I feel like I can’t believe him? I’m sure he’s someone I met for the first time today.

He then erased the energy flowing through the sword and sat down again. Thinking about it, I thought I was asking for too much with the dining table in front of me.

Momentarily embarrassed, I stammered and told him to quickly pick up his spoon. As it happened, he was starting to get hungry, so he started to eat the neatly prepared table.

In fact, my cooking skills were only what I had learned over my mother’s shoulder when she was cooking, so I was very anxious, but fortunately, it seemed to suit his taste.

After the man who had finished his meal, I gave him an empty room and told him to unpack his luggage and stay here. Then he nodded and went into the room.

Then, since there was nothing else to do, I was going to sleep next to Set, but soon I realized that I had just left without putting a water pitcher by his side.

Having no choice, I checked to see if Set was fast asleep, and then I got up again, filled the water pitcher with water, and walked to the room he had entered.

I’ll just bring this water pitcher and rest well today. Because I have to leave to deliver as soon as I finish training tomorrow morning. Thinking that, I opened the door.

“There…!!!”

Clang!

I unconsciously took out my fingernails and blocked the sword that was suddenly rushing towards me. At the end of the sword, Yi was glaring at me, equipped with the helmet he was wearing when I first saw him.

“…What are you doing right now?”

At my words that came out reflexively, he said, embarrassed, as he sheathed his sword.

“I’m sorry. It seems that I was mistaken.”

“What kind of mistake are you talking about? I think I have the right to hear the contents, don’t you think?”

Feeling the coldness in my tone, he took off his helmet and explained to me.

“Because I suddenly heard footsteps in the middle of the night, I thought it was a Noxian who came to assassinate me. I think I’ve committed a really big sin.”

Saying that, Yi bowed his head to me. No, even though he rolled around on the battlefield, he reacts so sensitively to footsteps? You’re a master! Distinguish who the person is by their footsteps!

Anyway, having calmed down, I thought I should leave him with a harsh warning.

“It’s fortunate that it was me, but if another person had come in here, their head would have been blown off without knowing why. You don’t seem to have completely abandoned the anger inside you.”

“…There’s no words to refute. This is entirely my fault.”

Ah, if you say it like that, I get weak again. I hate people who don’t regret their mistakes, but I don’t hate people who make mistakes.

But this time, it was a situation where someone could have died if something went wrong, so I couldn’t back down. Just as I was about to pour out sharp criticism on him, the sound of a child crying came from my room. It seemed that he had woken up from the first commotion earlier and started crying because he knew I wasn’t there.

Having no choice, I handed him the water pitcher and left the room to calm Set’s crying.

Still, I thought I should say something, so I turned to look at him and said.

“The main thing that confuses people’s eyes and ears is doubt. I hope you can get out of the past and see the world with the right eyes again.”

He was still walking around the battlefield. Without even realizing it himself, he had been wandering all along. He should get out of that terrible place. Well, it’s entirely up to his will, so the limit of what I can help is up to here.

But to think that I blocked Yi’s sword with my fingernails, it was proof that my strength was definitely increasing. All right! I’m going to train hard tomorrow too!

For reference, it took about 30 minutes for Set to fall asleep quietly again. Please leave the sleeping kid alone…

The next morning, before going out for training, I went to his room again to wake Yi up. But this time, I didn’t go in right away, but decided to stand in front of the door, knock, and then go in. I wanted to avoid the situation where the sword blade was suddenly pointed at my neck like yesterday.

There’s the content I talked about yesterday, but there’s always a chance, so there’s no harm in being careful. I knocked on the door lightly three times. But strangely, no response was heard from inside the room.

What is it? I thought he was a deep sleeper, so I went inside, and there was Yi sitting in the seat, cross-legged, meditating. Unlike the blue energy he showed yesterday, this time an emerald-colored energy surrounded him.

I watched him quietly without disturbing his mysterious and bizarre meditation. How much time had passed, he released his posture and discovered me standing in front of him. Oh, this is a bit embarrassing because of how the situation turned out.

I decided to say something to him by quoting the contents of a poem I read after coming to this world.

“Everything begins from time. Just as morning dew settles and evening mist spreads, the sun, the moon, and the stars are born.”

This poem was the most impressive of all the poems I had read. Even though I had read countless poems for mock exams and college entrance exams, I had never seen a poem that conveyed its meaning as neatly and accurately as this poem. As expected of Ionia, it’s really good in this area.

Yi, who had thought so, gave me an apologetic look and answered me.

“That’s the first verse of ‘All Rights,’ a poem written by Bukshii… I think I took up too much of your time. I have one more debt.”

Huh? What are you talking about? I just thought this flowing time was good, so I took it out. It seems that this poem has another interpretation. I’ll have to look it up later. But this person’s way of speaking seems to have changed a lot?

Yi got up, organized the luggage he had brought, and prepared to leave. Before he packed all his luggage and went out of the house, I opened my mouth to say a warm word to him, who was going on a long journey in the future.

“Please, find your way.”

When I said that, Yi suddenly bowed his head to me and began to apologize out of the blue.

“Please forgive the rude actions I have committed here so far. I thought about what you said yesterday after I left the room. As you said, I realized that I had been living without getting out of the past. I will never forget you, who awakened the still immature me. If we have another relationship in the future, I will definitely repay this debt. Then, please be at peace.”

Yi, who had finished saying what he had to say, turned around and left the house as it was. Hmm, so my evaluation of him soared because of that one word I said yesterday? This is really embarrassing. I just gave him a word of comfort and told him to think one more time before taking action.

Or was it strange that I told him to find his way well? I don’t know.

Then shall we start with 500 push-ups lightly today too?
