Chapter 5: Hunt.

In a deserted alleyway, a small girl with a petite build emerged from a small grocery store with cracked and broken windows, clutching items that would help her survive.

She wore a gray hoodie pulled all the way over her head to minimize the amount of exposed skin, and even wore a black mask, but she couldn’t prevent her disheveled long hair from sticking out. The girl then moved back into the alleyway.

‘Tap.. Tap..’

“…?”

While walking through the quiet alleyway where not a single breeze was blowing, she sensed someone and turned around, but

There was only trash lying around behind the alleyway she had just turned, and no trace of anyone.

‘Tap tap, tap…’

What stopped the girl’s hasty steps was the blocked wall of the alleyway, which was over 2m long.

The girl, realizing that she had taken the wrong turn, was about to turn around when she heard someone’s footsteps.

‘Thud thud’

She frantically looked for another route to escape, but unfortunately, the surrounding area was blocked, and the only way to get out was the way she came in.

“Hey, little lady, you look like you’re carrying a heavy load?”

Soon after, a trio of thugs appeared.

“Are you very surprised? Don’t worry, nothing will happen if you listen to us. So, why don’t you put down the knife in your hand first?”

The girl, who had been staring at the gang of thugs with a frown for a while, soon dropped the machete in her hand on the floor and threw the bag she was carrying towards the thugs.

“Yeah, this is a girl who understands, wow~ Where did you get all this?”

The thugs grinned as they unzipped the bag the girl had thrown.

“Hmm? Ah, okay, now that we’re done, you can go… Not!”

However, the thugs were not satisfied with just the items in the bag.

“!!”

“Isn’t it too naive to be so innocent in a situation where the law is already messed up?”

She took a step back, but couldn’t escape any further from the blocked wall.

‘Grip’

“You’re a pretty calm girl, aren’t you? Not even screaming in this situation?”

Unlike the group watching from afar, the girl slowly took off her mask with her other hand towards the thug who had approached her and grabbed her arm tightly.

“Where, I’m looking forward to the cute scream that will come out of that mouth?…”

She leaned close to the thug’s ear and whispered.

“Ggrrr…”

‘Crack!’

“Cough! Cough! Kr@#grrr…”

“Ugh…” (Is this why zombies are thirsty for blood?)

She kicked the guy who was spitting blood from his neck and falling backwards, wiped the blood smeared on his mouth with her sleeve, and glared at the other two thugs who were full of embarrassment.

“What the sht? That btch was a z.zombie?”

“That b*tch? Hey, kill that bastard!”

I guess it’s fortunate that those thugs don’t have any ranged attack methods?

I noticed that they were following me in the alleyway earlier, and I was worried because there were so many of them, but fortunately they were more stupid than I thought.

‘Click’

“Huh?”

She dodged the guy swinging a baseball bat at her with the evasion skill, pulled out a revolver, cocked it, and

‘Bang!’

“Ugh?!”

‘Thud’

Headshot to the head of the thug who came right in front of her.

“Huh?!… Uh. Ugh!!”

Towards the thug who was running away in a daze…

‘Bang!’

“Ugh!!”

Ah, maybe it’s because the distance got farther, but I made a mistake and hit his leg.

“Ugh, I can’t die like this, ugh…”

The way he was struggling to get out somehow, limping with his gunshot wound, looked even more pathetic compared to his smug appearance earlier.

“Ugh! D*mn it!! I’m going to live?”

“Grrr….”

“Ggrrr….”

“Krr!!”

The zombies who heard the gunshot from the opposite side of the alleyway blocked the retreat.

“Ugh, sh*t!!”

She approached the thug who was crying out in pain and despair, having lost even the last hope,

“Ah… I. I’m sorry, I was wrong! So please…”

‘Thwack!’

She swung a heavy machete and split his head open.

Since he was a thug in the first place, I had no sympathy or mercy for him.

“Grrr…”

‘Crunch!’

“Zzzzzz….”

She left the aftermath to the zombies who came to have a meal, and returned to the end of the alley where she first killed the two thugs.

The corpse of the thug who died from excessive bleeding from his torn neck and the corpse of the thug whose head was blown out,

She picked up her bag from the blood-stained street, dusted it off, and put it back on.

“Ugh…” (Status window)

In fact, at first, I had a sense of repulsion to killing people.

Even though I’m a zombie now, attacking people was no different from other zombies roaming the streets.

But after meeting a few people, including the thugs just now, I automatically changed my mind.

In the first place, in zombie movies, people kill each other to gain even a little more profit rather than zombies, so why am I any different?

Since then, I’ve picked out only the guys who come at me on their own and made them all zombie food.

I changed my clothes, put lenses in my unfocused eyes, and changed my pale face with makeup, so I must have looked exactly like a person.

Above all, I can’t ignore the 5~6 times the experience I get from catching zombies,

I don’t bother to touch people who don’t harm me first, is that the last bit of conscience I have as a human?

However, one thing I’m worried about is…

“Ggrrr….”

“Ugh….”

Like those zombies who had already finished ‘eating’ and came here following the smell of blood, I also…

‘Crack!’

Was I addicted to the taste of blood?

It’s like the instincts of a zombie are gradually dominating me…
