This episode is just an explanation; please think of it as a break.
Day 4 in the base full of only the dead,
I’m still staying here and doing this and that.
Honestly, I thought about leaving right away at first, but I thought it would be nice to have a home to stay in, so I’m still here.
Excluding the bad memories of the inhuman guys who occupied it before, it’s actually a fortress,
I should say it’s a place that is very regrettable to just leave behind.
Unlike before when the zombie density was low, it is now swarming with numerous zombies regardless of the outside or inside, so if they are a survivor group with a sane mind, they will not even approach this area, so there is no need to worry about being invaded.
If they ever want to occupy this place again, it is likely to be maintained for a long time to come unless they bring military force and armament comparable to at least the army level.
Of course, if the only reason is that there are just a lot of zombies, there is no need to insist on this place and it would be no different to choose any city with a high zombie density nearby and make it my base.
The true value of why I made this my base is the remaining supplies.
About 80% or more of the food was burned down and became unusable because I set fire to the food warehouse earlier, but those are no longer useful supplies to me, who is a zombie.
Rather, I should offer my condolences to the personnel who bravely put out the fire and were completely wiped out in the half-destroyed situation at the time… I think it’s an overstatement to do that,
Anyway, the armory is intact because the fire stopped at the food warehouse.
The law and order have already collapsed socially, and the help of the military and police is questionable, so it seems like the situation has reached a point where I can safely say that almost all of the firearms that can be obtained in this area are concentrated here.
From military weapons such as K-2, K-3, K-5… that are currently in use to wartime reserve materials such as M16, M1 carbine, M1911, and various explosives, it is like a treasure trove full of treasures.
Unlike when dozens of people were regulating and saving them, now I can just shoot them recklessly anywhere by myself, so there’s nothing more to say.
The parking lot is the same.
The cars that have been left unattended without proper management since the zombie incident have passed the time, the batteries have run out, and the internal oil has deteriorated, so they have really become scrapped cars,
The cars here have been consistently managed until recently and are vehicles that have been customized for survival.
Of course, the problem is that I have to take over the management from now on, but being able to drive all the vehicles here more than makes up for the shortcomings.
In addition, all the various facilities and miscellaneous items remaining here are now abandoned without an owner.
It’s a place that anyone would want to own if they weren’t a zombie.
Therefore, there are endless ways to utilize this place.
I can trade with friendly survivor groups, or simply use it as my base and supply warehouse.
With that in mind, I cleaned up one of the empty rooms that were left over and made it my own room.
I replaced the broken lock on the armory with a new one and installed various booby traps so that not even a zombie could enter and be killed by the explosion,
The remaining space was transformed into a space that only I could use by placing zombies here and there like guard dogs.
Well, there are some things to fix in the middle, but I can proceed slowly.
I have plenty of time.
After roughly completing the base remodeling, I conducted experiments to explore my abilities in earnest.
Even if I’m a zombie, I might die if I get a bullet in the head, so I need to get stronger.
I need to get stronger, and in order to do that, I need to increase my stats through level up…
First, based on the results I’ve obtained through experiments and experience so far, it is possible to obtain exp, that is, experience, even if I don’t kill anyone.
I defined this as a system with a structure that receives experience suitable for ‘specific actions’.
When I was a common zombie before, the natural act of attacking as a zombie was recognized as a ‘specific action’ and came in as experience.
The problem is that this may be the main method of supplying experience, but the amount of experience received decreases as the level increases, and conversely, the amount of experience required increases.
The experience gained from killing zombies is now only 1 exp, but the experience gained from killing survivors starts at a minimum of 10 and can be over 2-3 times as much depending on the survivor’s skill.
Thanks to this, should I say that the destruction of this base became an opportunity for me, who was experiencing a plateau in leveling up as a common zombie, to suddenly level up explosively… Well, the better, the better.
Now, I, who have evolved into a special zombie, am a zombie in charge of a so-called aggro-puller called ‘Screamer’.
Perhaps because of this, I get experience because simply attracting the aggro of zombies satisfies the condition of ‘specific action’.
By using the basic skill ‘Aggro’ to summon nearby zombies, I can calculate 1exp per zombie, so 30 zombies would be 30exp, and 100 zombies would be 100exp.
In the case of ‘Lure’, the success rate is relatively low, so I get 5exp of experience per zombie that I successfully lured.
Therefore, in order to prevent me from repeating this infinitely to level up…
I found out through experiments that the ‘Aggro’ skill has a cooldown of about 1 hour, and the ‘Lure’ skill has a limit of about 5 times a day.
If I try to forcibly break this limit, my throat hurts (I thought I didn’t feel pain because I’m a zombie, but I also found out that there are exceptions),
Even if I use the skill, the zombies completely ignore me as if I’m a dog chasing chickens on the roof (…).
In addition, once zombies are attracted by aggro, they don’t react well to the aggro skill again until they are scattered more than a certain distribution,
There are limitations such as not being able to apply it redundantly until the zombies following me by ‘Lure’ lose interest in me and go their own way again.
It’s not easy to fill the amount of experience required for me, who has just become a special zombie, in the early stages, and it will be difficult to handle the increasing amount…
In conclusion, it is considerably disadvantageous and takes a long time to just hole up in one place and level up.
Therefore, it is necessary to move to other places periodically for my growth (evolution?).
I confirmed that there were higher entities when the job change window appeared when I became a special zombie, so if I continue to level up, I will be able to become stronger than I am now someday.
Now that I think about it again, I think I’m lucky that I didn’t choose special entities such as Charger or Boomer.
To work hard and throw punches to level up, or to wander around while vomiting…
‘XX District Survivor Base Status’
There were many records that I could usefully use in the room of the guy who used to be the boss.
He wrote it in detail as if he was planning to plunder it, so I should use it well.
‘XX-dong Cult Group’
What catches my eye the most is this.
I wouldn’t feel any remorse for killing them, even if they were from such an outrageous group, even if they were other survivors.
Okay, I’ve decided on you as my next target, you cult group!
Stay still and wait, I’m going to take the zombie army and tear your heads off!
