Logia Devil Fruits transformed the user’s body into an element and granted control over it. But my Holy Lightning Trait was different.
“Consume mana to generate Holy Lightning, control the generated Holy Lightning, and temporarily transform my body into Holy Lightning, granting complete immunity to physical attacks.”
Three abilities: Holy Lightning Generation, Holy Lightning Control, and Holy Lightning Transformation.
“Holy Lightning Transformation. This is amazing!” This was my favorite ability.
“Complete immunity to physical attacks. I’m invincible against anything but magic.”
Unlike Logia transformations, which were permanent, Holy Lightning Transformation was temporary, consuming mana to transform my body into Holy Lightning. But it had fewer weaknesses. Logia users were vulnerable to Haki, but Holy Lightning Transformation was only vulnerable to magical attacks. Even attacks that cut through space and dimensions, like Mana Burst, were ineffective if they were physical in nature. Holy Lightning Transformation granted conditional invincibility.
“Better than I expected.” I smiled, satisfied with the results, then looked around.
“What a mess.” Upper Yard was in ruins, split in half from my fight with Enel.
“But there’s still something to salvage.”
Enel dreamt of going to the moon and built a ship for that purpose: the Ark Maxim, a vessel powered by lightning, capable of space travel. I searched Upper Yard and found it.
“That’s the Ark Maxim.” A golden ship.
“Fortunately, it’s unscathed.” It seemed to have miraculously survived our destructive battle.
“Alright, this ship is mine now.” I had rightfully acquired ownership of the Maxim from Enel. What? You disagree? You think I stole it? No. I killed Enel, earning the right to claim his possessions. Therefore, the ship was rightfully mine.
“Can I store this in my Inventory?” I tried, and it worked.
<Item: Ark Maxim (S)>
A ship powered by electricity. Can fly with sufficient fuel. Maximum speed: Mach 3.
“S-rank…” That made sense for a ship capable of reaching the moon.
“I’ll store the Maxim and leave Skypiea.” I had achieved my goals here.
“Time to figure out the current timeline.” I jumped down from Skypiea.
A month passed. I traveled between islands, gathering information. I was 20 years before the start of the original story.
“20 years.” A long time, enough for the world to change twice over. But it was also the perfect time…
“…to form my pirate crew and make a name for myself.”
There were four major powers in One Piece: the Marines, the Pirates, the Revolutionary Army, and the World Government. I planned to become a pirate. It simply seemed like the most fun option.
‘I’ve been too focused on getting stronger in my Leisures.’ I hadn’t fully enjoyed my Leisure Life Trait, constantly prioritizing growth. I didn’t regret becoming stronger, but I felt like I’d missed out on the fun aspect.
‘Time to enjoy myself.’ And for that…
“…I need a crew.” One Piece had many fascinating characters, and I wanted to enjoy the Leisure with them. I planned to recruit my favorite character: Yamato, daughter of one of the Four Emperors, Kaido.
I admired her appearance, but she had one major flaw: her obsession with Kozuki Oden. She constantly insisted she was a man and identified as Oden, earning her the nickname “psycho” among readers. It was a shame such an attractive character was so…delusional. A woman who believed she was a man, who wholeheartedly believed and acted as if she was Oden, was undeniably mentally unstable.
But now, I could help her.
“The reason for Yamato’s delusion…” …was her admiration for Oden. She witnessed his execution as a child and became so inspired by his will that she developed an unhealthy obsession. This obsession worsened over time, turning into a full-blown delusion.
But now, with Yamato still in the early stages of her obsession, there was a chance to cure her.
“I can turn her into a normal Oden fan, not a delusional one.”
My goal was clear. I would cure Yamato of her delusion and make her my crewmate.
I found a secluded spot on an island and retrieved the Maxim from my Inventory.
“First, I need to go to the New World where Yamato is.” I was currently in the Paradise half of the Grand Line. There were two ways to reach the New World: through Mariejois or Fish-Man Island.
Going through Mariejois, the headquarters of the World Government, was impossible for a pirate. Pirates had to go through Fish-Man Island. But…
“I’m different.” I had the Ark Maxim, a flying ship.
“I can fly over Mariejois at an altitude they won’t notice.”
I generated Holy Lightning and charged the Maxim.
Rumble!
The Maxim soared into the sky at near supersonic speed.
“Let’s go cure Yamato’s delusion!” I set course for the New World. My journey had begun.
