Chapter 28: Live Broadcast Jitters

[Guild][HugMeRaiseMe] lmaoooooo is that Ban-ye?

[Guild][HeyYam] What is it, yam?

[Guild][HugMeRaiseMe] lol search for Temporary on the forums

The first to discover the proof shot Ban-ye had uploaded was HugMeRaiseMe.

In the meantime, the other guild members seemed to have seen it as well and each chimed in.

[Guild][Youngmyeong] Ban-ye-nim is more petite than I thought

[Guild][Neda] I agree, unexpected

[Guild][Bogak] V-sign lol

I was just starting to feel relieved that they weren’t teasing as much as I expected, when Ban-ye revealed that he wasn’t the person in the photo.

[Guild][Ah-ang] That’s Ah-ang

[Guild][HugMeRaiseMe] ?

[Guild][HeyYam] It’s Ah-ang’s picture, not Ban-ye’s, yam?

[Guild][Ah-ang] yep

[Guild][HugMeRaiseMe] you met Ah-ang today too?

[Guild][Ah-ang] yep

[Guild][HugMeRaiseMe] you guys are practically living together lol

[Guild][Ban-yeStorage] hh;;

But as soon as the guild members found out it was me and not Ban-ye, they suddenly switched back to teasing mode.

[Guild][HeyYam] lmaooooo that’s hilarious, yam

[Guild][HugMeRaiseMe] lmaoooooo Don’t tell me you’re playing the game in that t-shirt right now?

I was indeed playing the game in that t-shirt, so I felt a pang of guilt and retorted to HugMeRaiseMe.

[Guild][Ban-yeStorage] what’s the problem ㅡㅡ

[Guild][HugMeRaiseMe] So you didn’t force him to wear it, you asked to wear it yourself? lol

[Guild][Ban-yeStorage] no, he made me wear it!

Since everyone was teasing me, I pretended not to like the t-shirt that I actually did.

I could hear Ban-ye, who was watching from the side, let out a chuckle as if he found it absurd, but I pretended not to notice and emphasized it again forcefully.

[Guild][Ban-yeStorage] Ban-ye asked me to wear it, I didn’t want to

[Guild][Ah-ang] lol

[Guild][ImSoCute] I wanted that t-shirt

[Guild][ImSoCute] Isn’t it super cute?

[Guild][Ban-yeStorage] Right!

In the midst of it all, ImSoCute defended me, so I quickly agreed, but perhaps because of that, everyone seemed convinced that I had asked for the t-shirt and wore it.

That’s not it….

Ban-ye gave it to me to keep.

But Ban-ye didn’t explain the detailed circumstances, and no one listened to my explanation.

On top of that, I don’t know when he took it, but there was a time when I briefly placed the mini-doll on my head, and he took a picture of it from behind and uploaded it to the guild’s Discord channel.

My face wasn’t in it, but looking at it like this, it looked like a person thoroughly enjoying the package… so it was a little embarrassing.

[ImSoCute] Wow, the doll is cute lol

[HeyYam] You’re completely into it, yam lol

[Male] You liked it that much?

[Neda] You enjoyed it much more than the person who received it

[HugMeRaiseMe] lmaoooooo you totally stole all of Ban-ye’s stuff

[Ah-ang] That’s not true! I told you Ban-ye gave it to me

[Hwang Hyun-joong] ㅠㅠ

“No, why are you typing a crying face there?”

“It’s my choice.”

Ban-ye, after making me the subject of misunderstanding like that, just slipped away to play the game.

And, the day after we received the package.

I was reading the pledge that was in the package tube and asked Ban-ye.

“Ban-ye. Did you know you have to do a live broadcast once every two weeks?”

“No.”

“It says so here in the pledge….”

The pledge was like a contract between the creator and the game company, a document that specified the services the game company provided to the creator and the content the creator had to create for the game company.

It was also written in the pledge that if the creator didn’t abide by what was written here, they would have to return everything they received, and any items already used would have to be returned in cash equivalent to their value.

It was probably related to the game cash, but this part bothered me for some reason, so I drew a thick line under the part about the creator’s duties with a ballpoint pen.

Then I went to Ban-ye and showed him the pledge, fluttering it.

“Look closely, Ban-ye. It says you have to do a live broadcast of at least 60 minutes or upload Chaos Online-related content of at least 10 minutes once every two weeks.”

“Haaa….”

Ban-ye let out a long sigh, as if he were already tired.

Of course, I was also taken aback by the rather tight schedule, but since Ban-ye was currently unemployed… wouldn’t it be possible? I thought.

However, Ban-ye’s sigh didn’t seem to come from time pressure.

“I really don’t have confidence in live broadcasting.”

It was the first time I had ever heard Ban-ye say he wasn’t confident in something.

I blinked my eyes and then said to Ban-ye.

“Wh-why? You’re good at the game, right?”

“I can’t just play the game without saying a single word. A live broadcast is….”

“W-well, that’s true, but… you talk sometimes when you play the game. It’s fun.”

“That’s because I’m with people I’m close to…. A broadcast is different.”

Is that so?

I thought I didn’t really know the difference, but Ban-ye seemed to think differently and sighed once more.

He looked genuinely worried.

For some reason, seeing him look troubled made me feel sorry for him, so I said to Ban-ye gently.

“Sh-should I help you?”

Even as I said that, I thought, what help could someone like me be… but surprisingly, Ban-ye’s complexion brightened a little.

Ban-ye looked at me with a rare, faint smile.

“Really?”

Thanks to that, I was a little flustered, but soon a happy feeling welled up, and I hurriedly nodded my head.

“…Yeah! But, I’ve never done a live broadcast either….”

“Just be by my side like you always are.”

“Like always?”

“Yes. You know… saying things like, Ban-ye is so good.”

“Aah…! I-I’m confident in that!”

I nodded my head and felt a little relieved.

Well, if it’s just that, I thought, and had a somewhat lax attitude.

However….

On the day of the live broadcast, after we had announced it.

“…Ah d@mn, why am I the one who’s nervous?”

Ban-ye himself was no different from usual, but I was the only one who was so nervous that I kept biting my nails.

I felt strangely anxious.

I felt like I would be very upset if no one came to the live broadcast, and if it did well and hundreds of people came to watch, I would be nervous….

No matter what I thought, I couldn’t shake off my nervousness.

‘And of all things, that b@stard Sisi announced that he’s doing a live broadcast on the same day, at the same time… crazy m0ron.’

That j*rk Sisi had announced that he was doing a live broadcast on his much larger YouTube channel, as if to show us up, and it was so, so annoying.

It was obvious he was trying to reduce the number of viewers for our live broadcast in any way possible.

So, I wanted to do the first live broadcast even better, as if to show him.

So I once again looked over the list of surprise questions I had prepared without Ban-ye’s knowledge.

[1. Ban-ye, since when did you become so good at gaming?
2. What does Ban-ye think is the strongest class in Chaos Online?
3. Ban-ye’s absurd Chaos Online story!
4. Ban-ye’s favorite scenario in Chaos Online!
5. Ban-ye’s recommendation! What’s the best BGM in Chaos Online?
6. What Chaos Online system do you think could be improved?
7. What Chaos Online classes are good for newbies?
8. What is a good progression route for free-to-play users?
9. 3 recommended items under 10,000 cash that you must buy from the cash shop!
10. Any PvP tips from the #1 PvP player, Ban-ye?]

‘I think I picked some good questions that will be easy to edit.’

Feeling proud, I planned to show this question list to Ban-ye before the live broadcast.

After all, Ban-ye needed time to think about his answers.

But….

“Ban-ye! Do you want to take a look at this before the live?”

“What is it?”

“The questions I made…!”

But Ban-ye didn’t say much after looking at my question list.

In fact, he didn’t react at all, and I was just starting to feel like I had done something unnecessary.

After reading it all, Ban-ye said bluntly.

“Ask me when we start later.”

“U-uhm….”

I was too intimidated by his bluntness to ask what he thought of the questions.

I became a little dispirited, wondering if I had done something unnecessarily troublesome.

On top of that….

“….”

“….”

It had been 7 minutes since the live broadcast started… and not a single viewer had come in, so I was getting extremely anxious.

How could this be!

‘This is all Sisi’s fault….’

I felt like tears were about to well up in my eyes as I looked at Ban-ye.

Ban-ye was looking at the game screen with an expression that wasn’t much different from usual.

I looked at the composed-looking Ban-ye and bit my lip hard.

Just then.

Ding.

The first live viewer came in.

However.

[Aki] lol what are you doing

[Aki] ; is this stream dead?

…Anyone could tell it was HugMeRaiseMe.
