Chapter 7: Violet

Perhaps because of the soft sound from the wardrobe, Fia’s desire for control was instead provoked.

Hiding in the shadows, Violet curled up in the corner of the wardrobe, pressing her eye to the crack between the doors and cautiously peering out.

But she couldn’t see clearly, only able to hear the faint, continuous pleas and Fia’s mocking laughter coming from outside the wardrobe.

Violet bit her lip lightly, her hands resting resentfully on her white legs, her brow furrowed as she listened to the bird, who had traded her own blood for Violet’s recovery, cry out its sorrowful, melodious song.

‘That should have been mine!’

‘What a kind girl, to want to cure her with all her might, even while fearing the pain!’

Sweetness and sorrow mixed in her heart, twisting together, seeping out as a distorted liquid.

Time slowly passed, and the sorrowful cries grew fainter and fainter, almost inaudible even with her ear pressed against the wardrobe door.

Violet nervously peeked out through the crack in the door again, only barely catching a glimpse of Fia’s profile.

Her face wore a victor’s smile, her expression much more relaxed than usual, as if she had vented her daily stress.

Elegantly fastening the last button of her suit, Fia turned back to look in Dounia’s direction, biting her moist finger as if savoring the lingering, charming fragrance.

Swish—

The door sounded again. Fia was gone.

Violet slowly pushed open the wardrobe door.
The dazzling light made her squint, and an ambiguous scent wafted towards her.

She slowly approached the bed, seemingly unable to bear the sight of the tormented Dounia.

Dounia’s fingers gripped the bedsheet tightly, creating several deep wrinkles.

A white pillow was held in front of her face, and a cascade of silver hair was scattered like silk beside it.
Although her expression was hidden, the fair, tender skin of her arms was flushed with a vivid, blood-like pink.

“Dounia…” Violet called out softly.

But upon hearing this voice, Dounia immediately curled up and began to tremble.

“Please… don’t come any closer. Let me go…” Dounia’s voice was muffled and choked with sobs.

Violet looked at Dounia with a pained heart, yet a different kind of feeling was ignited within her.
She slowly pulled the pillow from Dounia’s hands, admiring this exquisite work of art.

The red eyes had lost their usual color, staring blankly, like rubies that had lost their life force.

Dounia’s lips trembled slightly, as if she wanted to say something but couldn’t make a sound.
A trace of crimson blood stained the corner of her lips, and her slightly bitten lip gave off a sense of tragic beauty.

Two tracks of not-yet-dry tears shimmered slightly in the light, instantly tugging at Violet’s heartstrings.

“I’m sorry… it’s all my fault, all my fault…”

“If only I had stepped forward sooner…”

Violet hugged the still-trembling Dounia, gently patting her back.

A sweet scent emanated from Violet.
Dounia’s furrowed brow relaxed slightly, and her pain seemed to lessen considerably from the beautiful girl’s embrace.

This seemed to be something she had never received from anyone else.

Care.

It was as if her own pain could truly be felt by Violet as well.

Dounia gently pushed Violet’s shoulder.

A fleeting look of confusion crossed Violet’s eyes.
She immediately understood, forced a smile, and released her hold on Dounia.

“I’m sorry. If my sister sees me here again, it will only cause more trouble for you, won’t it…”

‘Just as smart as in the game.’

Violet lowered her head, trying hard to hide the tears welling in the corners of her eyes.
She casually wiped them away with the back of her hand and ran out of the room.

‘She’s so considerate.’

Dounia sighed inwardly.

‘No wonder the protagonist in the original story became a completely reckless scumbag after she died from her illness, and Section Six of the Anomaly Bureau also spiraled uncontrollably towards a ruinous end…’

“Hah— hah—”

Dounia’s breathing was still erratic.
She didn’t want to think about anything, just wanted to fall into a deep sleep.

The wounds and red marks on her body still stung with a fiery pain.
She closed her eyes with a bitter smile.

“I just want to live… is it really necessary for Miss Violet to fall for me?”

“And that dead ice block Fia too…”

“Am I really that cute now?”

Lilith popped out, wagging her little demon’s heart-shaped tail.

Seeing this number, Dounia gritted her teeth in anger.

‘After tormenting me for so long, it only went up by 1%, and she still said she would only allow me to be hers… that bastard woman…’

“I think you quite like Fia, don’t you?” Lilith said with a sly grin.

“‘So this is what it feels like to be held tightly by an older woman. The thought of being tormented by her, torn apart by her, and then watching the regretful expression on her face as she realizes she’s lost me, fills me with a deep sense of satisfaction…’” Lilith deadpanned, reading the words aloud.

“You, you…?” Dounia was so shocked she threw off the covers and sat up.

“What about me?” Lilith’s heart-shaped tail swayed triumphantly. “I’m just saying what’s on someone’s mind.”

“That was because she used ‘Domination’ on me! I couldn’t control my own thoughts, okay!?” Dounia retorted, her face beet red.
She even made a show of brushing the hair from her shoulder to reveal the crimson mark.
“My wounds are still stinging with pain!”

“Oh~” Lilith cooed, perfectly mimicking Dounia’s voice. “‘That was because she used Domination on me…’”

A translucent interface popped up in front of Dounia.

[Dounia Pleasure Level: 1%]

[If a character’s Pleasure Level exceeds the limit, an irreversible change will occur.]

“Hee hee, people may lie, but the Pleasure Level doesn’t lie~” Lilith mocked.

‘What Goddess of Pleasure! This one is definitely the God of Sarcasm!’

“Tian Wenjing, I’ll f*ck…”

“With just you?” Lilith raised her lips in disdain. “If you can charm my mom, I’ll be your… maid for a day!”

“Remember what you said,” Dounia glared at her and said hatefully.

Swish—

The sound of the door opening was heard, and Lilith’s figure instantly vanished.

Violet walked in unsteadily, carrying a large white first-aid kit.

Seeing Dounia’s red-rimmed eyes, pulling up the covers and casting a panicked glance at her, Violet slowly placed the first-aid kit on the bed.

“I specifically told my sister that I wanted to visit and thank you. She agreed.”

“Phew, that’s good…” Dounia pitifully stroked her frightened little heart.
She didn’t want to be tormented by that madwoman again.

“I’m really sorry about what my sister did…” Violet lowered her head, apologizing sincerely.

“Let me… apply some medicine for you…”

Dounia shrank back slightly, but this small movement seemed to hurt Violet’s feelings, making her outstretched hand pause.

“Does Dounia hate me after all…?”

As her eyes glistened, a teardrop fell onto the edge of the bed.
Violet put down the medicine bottle and turned away.

[Violet Favorability: 5% —> 4.9%]

‘Oh no! My dear sister, you’re not just dropping favorability, you’re dropping my life points!’

Dounia quickly got up and grabbed Violet’s hand.

“Don’t… don’t go.”

Violet turned back to look at Dounia, puzzled.

“I… I want Miss Violet to help me… apply the medicine,” Dounia said, lowering her head shyly.

A hint of warmth appeared in Violet’s eyes, and her lips curled into a slight smile.
