“Bad kid.”
“We found the bad kid.”
“It’s him.”
A cacophony of voices flooded the classroom, their gazes like sharp knives aimed at their target.
Classmates extended their arms, fingers pointing like steel needles, all directed at Su Buyu.
Uh…
This was bad, right?
How’d they figure him out?
He thought he’d hidden well enough.
He’d mimicked the hypnotized students’ mumbling perfectly—how’d they spot him?
Was his acting off?
Facing the classmates slowly closing in, Su Buyu stood, positioning a chair in front, grabbing a pen, scribbling something quickly, then readying his stance.
“Controlling students, breaking laws like this. Renyu Saiki, you don’t seem like a good physiology teacher.”
His wounded hand, now scabbed, was freed from bandages, the pen tied tightly to it, forming a makeshift weapon held threateningly.
The pen was his only reliance, the chair in his other hand to block sudden advances.
He forced a smirk, eyeing Renyu Saiki, surrounded by students, exhaling heavily.
Great.
No way he could win.
This was worse than facing Hideo Saiki.
Last time, he had allies.
Now…
He glanced at Shizuku Sakurai, still seated.
She neither joined the students encircling him nor stayed alert like him.
Since answering the question, she’d been dazed, as if soulless.
“Shizuku Sakurai? Can you hear me?”
He crumpled paper into a ball, tossing it at her desk, grazing her fingers—no reaction.
Like a doll without power.
From the podium, Renyu Saiki retreated behind the students, taunting.
“Haven’t you noticed? Since I approached her, she hasn’t moved. I gave her top-priority hypnosis. Who doesn’t know her delinquent rep? That absolute defiance and strength—too scary.
Can’t let her ruin my plans~”
Her lips curved into a mocking smirk.
But this suited Su Buyu just fine.
For now, no one would target her.
“System, check the target’s status.”
He muttered, and the task panel appeared.
[Character: Shizuku Sakurai]
[Status: Consciousness Dazed]
[Objective: Defeat Renyu Saiki while protecting yourself and Shizuku Sakurai.]
[Reward: One Lucky Gift Pack]
[Opportunity comes once, don’t miss it!]
…Ugh, think I’m a superhero?
Su Buyu grimaced at the system’s demands.
Defeat her in this isolated state?
…Might as well try!
One Carrot, One Hole!
Activate!
[Sorry, the pen’s too small, like a toothpick in a vat. Cannot activate.]
[Disparity too large. Please change target.]
…F*ck!
What about his fist?!
[Disparity too large. Please change target.]
…Stuck against a tough foe, no skills to repeat.
Now what?
Su Buyu scanned the classroom.
The wall fan was still, water splashed through the open window, wetting his clothes.
Distant thunder rumbled, pressing on his heart, making it hard to breathe.
So cold. Only his window was open? That’s unfair.
But unfair or not, he had to find a way.
His eyes darted around, thinking fast, then lit up, locking onto Renyu Saiki, shielded by students, taunting her.
“Hey, Renyu Saiki! You’re really hiding behind them? A teacher using students as a shield? Not cool, right? Or are you scared to face me?”
He grinned, pointing the pen at her brow provocatively.
He had to rile her up.
If she got angry, she’d slip.
No clue what slip, but better than waiting to die.
Su Buyu waited, rain tapping louder, like countless ghosts howling to consume him.
He backed up as the students stiffly advanced, step by step, as if pushing him into an abyss.
The wall’s coldness hit his back.
As they closed within steps, they stopped.
Then, like petals parting, they let Renyu Saiki through.
She stepped forward, her red lips curling slyly, mocking him.
Her lips parted.
She spoke slowly, kneading her prized “peaks,” asking.
“Strange.”
“Su Buyu, you’re incredible. I’ve tried hypnotizing you so many times, yet you’re unaffected. Your eyes burn with something, always resisting. So rebellious. Why not just obey, let my words fill your mind? Why struggle so hard?”
She snapped her fingers, the crisp sound piercing his heart like a needle.
His chest felt stabbed, heart pounding.
…Hypnosis?
Forced?
Still trying to hypnotize him now?
“You trying to recruit me?”
Su Buyu avoided her “dual gaze,” wary of being ensnared.
But Renyu Saiki didn’t care, snapping her fingers more brazenly.
Each snap blurred his mind, his breathing growing heavy.
Her sweet whispers dug deeper into his heart.
“Your resistance is fascinating. If I could tame you, my hypnosis skills might level up.”
Her voice poured into his mind, sweet as honey, irresistible.
“Honestly, I only planned to hypnotize you, not so many others~ Boys your age have such strong urges, yet you don’t even glance at me. So odd. This is my pride and joy. It’s your fault, Su Buyu.
If you’d been hypnotized earlier, I wouldn’t have turned so many into puppets~
It’s your fault… all your fault~”
Her heavy blame swung like a hammer, aiming to crush his will. Her words were leaden.
But his eyes burned brighter than ever.
…My fault?
“Pfft, swapped your big head for the little one, huh? Should I get a jackhammer for your nose to see how much it sprays?”
“My fault? What’s that got to do with me? You’re the one hypnotizing, not me! Don’t pin this on me. I’m not taking it!”
And her hypnosis skills?
Classic.
Straight out of the game’s playbook.
But too bad.
If it was a hypnosis app or forced common-sense alteration, maybe it could’ve worked.
But now, Su Buyu saw through her tricks.
“You think your trashy methods can hypnotize me? No way!”
He laughed, yanking the window wide open.
Bang—the frame slammed, ringing out.
The gust lifted his open shirt, his grin eerie under the lightning’s flash.
“What… what are you doing?!”
His sudden move startled Renyu Saiki, who stepped back, instinctively shielding herself with the students.
But they reacted sluggishly, shoulders twitching delayedly.
“My… my hypnosis?”
It was slipping!
The bright lights flickered out, plunging the room into darkness.
Lightning and thunder lit her silhouette, rain glistening.
A thick, bloody scent surged in with the wind.
Su Buyu grinned, his smile ghostly in nature’s flash, blood dripping from his fingertips to the floor.
“Hypnosis not working so well now, huh?”
Pain was no longer just a clarity tool—it was etched into his nerves, a waking agent.
Now, he’d rip the veil off her hypnosis tricks!
