Chapter 28 : Capture (2)

“Where’s Yuhui? Why hasn’t he come in yet?” Rachel’s ears twitched.
“Wait, what’s that sound?”

From the shadows emerged four dark-skinned hounds, their eyes and bodies burning with crimson flames.
The flames did not burn their skin but clung to them quietly, like a water screen film, illusory and ethereal.

Rachel remembered her conversation with Yuhui in Old Luo’s office the day before.
At that time, Yuhui’s arm was wrapped in bandages, and he said he had been bitten by Blake’s dogs.
He must have been talking about these flaming hounds.

“These really don’t look like house pets,” Rachel muttered to herself.

Blake clapped his hands three times.
The flaming hounds howled and pounced at Rachel and the others, like the hellhounds from Romanian legends.

Seeing this, the three of them scattered to dodge the hounds’ attack.
Rachel saw with her own eyes that the ground the hounds had stepped on was left with burning flames.

‘Is this flame also essentially magic?’
Rachel wrinkled her nose.
There was a faint, sour, irritating smell in the air, which should be from the hounds.

After dodging, Rachel didn’t even glance at the hounds.
She rushed straight at Blake, aiming to capture the leader first.

Diana, after retreating from her previous position, quickly approached the hounds again.
She understood that Rachel’s goal was to get close to Blake, so she decided to intercept the hounds to create an opportunity for Rachel.

She reached her right hand behind her back and knocked on the wooden box.
The bottom of the box automatically opened, and a rope with a small retractable grappling hook shot out backward, reaching a large abandoned metal fan and wrapping around it.
Diana bent down and stepped, turning to the left with force.
The metal fan was pulled over by a huge force and thrown directly at the flaming hounds.

The metal fan flew at the hounds, hitting one of them and slamming it against the wall.
The rusty metal fan blades collided with the wall, emitting a huge, tooth-grinding screech.

Diana pulled the wooden box in front of her, the opening facing forward, and lightly pressed the switch on the box.
With a “click,” the lid of the box popped open, and three short blades—two with their handles forward and one with its tip forward—shot out.
Diana reacted quickly, extending her hands to grab the two short blades with the handles forward in a reverse grip, letting the third blade fly out.

This short blade shot straight at the head of a hound, its tip plunging in through its eye.
The impact of the projectile sent the hound flying, finally pinning it to the wall.

Diana quickly closed the wooden box, holding the short blades and rushing at the remaining two hounds.

“It’s so convenient to have more people. Division of labor is really easy,” Blake sighed.
He watched as Rachel had already come to him, less than three meters away.

In an instant, seven or eight fireballs appeared around him.
Rachel immediately stopped in her tracks, but the inconvenience of the high heels made her twist her ankle, and she stumbled, almost falling.

“Ah!” Rachel cried out.
She never expected such a mishap at this moment.

The fireballs flew straight at Rachel.
Just before they exploded, she released Dirty Ice, wrapping her entire body in it.

“Boom!”

The fireballs collided with the Dirty Ice, creating a violent explosion.
Blake was very close to Rachel, and the flames of the explosion also enveloped him, but these flames did not cause him any harm.
Blake reached into his pocket and took out three small iron balls about a centimeter in diameter.

But just as he was about to make his next move, a hand grabbed his forearm.

At the same time, Diana had already reached the remaining two flaming hounds and was fighting with them.

She kicked a leaping hound in the air with a high whip kick.
After her kicking leg landed, she quickly turned to face the second hound.
The short blades in Diana’s hands danced like butterflies.
After a couple of flourishes, she lunged forward, stabbing with both blades from different directions, one into the hound’s left eye and the other into its throat.

The hound that had been kicked away was not out of the fight.
It quickly got up and pounced again at Diana, who was closest to it and had her back to it.

Diana quickly turned, pulling out the short blades as she did.
Blood splattered.
She swung her arms forward, the blades advancing with the blood in the air, finally slashing across the hound’s throat.

In her fight with the hounds, Diana displayed powerful physical skills.
In fact, Inquisitors like Andrew who were good at magic were a minority.
Not everyone was qualified to study at the Astral Academy.
In the Church, the vast majority of trained armed personnel relied on their powerful physical skills and psionic abilities as their combat capital.

The black walnut stock of the gun slammed heavily on Blake’s head, instantly making him dizzy.
Yuhui twisted Blake’s hands behind his back, forcing him to the ground, and then aimed the muzzle of his gun at his head.

“Blake Morton, you’re under arrest.”

“Oh…” Blake’s head was still spinning from the blow.
“I forgot there was someone else…”

The Dirty Ice peeled off Rachel.
She got up from the ground and “tsked” unhappily.

“What took you so long to come in?”

“I was already in,” Yuhui said, holding the gun with one hand and removing all the items from Blake’s body with the other.
“I was just waiting for an opportunity.”

“You’re really patient.”

“It’s alright,” Yuhui took out a pair of handcuffs that glowed with a strange light.
These were the Bureau’s anti-magic handcuffs, specially used to restrain criminal sorcerers, psionics, and other superhumans.
However, they couldn’t control some individuals with immense physical strength, but Blake Morton was clearly not in that category.

“We finally caught him,” Rachel breathed a sigh of relief, seeing Yuhui had captured Blake.

Not far away, Andrew and Diana also walked over.
The shadow stand-in that had been subdued by Andrew had also completely dissipated after Blake was subdued, returning to its shadow form under Blake.

“It’s over?” Diana was a little surprised.
This operation had been unexpectedly smooth.

Yuhui handcuffed Blake’s hands behind his back and then removed the drum magazine from the submachine gun.
Andrew stepped forward to help him control Blake.

“Everyone,” Yuhui said, “we did it.”

“How is it? Are there any other victims or other dangerous items left by Blake?” Rachel asked Yuhui, who was walking from the factory entrance, as she sat at the back door of the ambulance.

The Bureau’s special police cars and hospital ambulances had all driven in and parked at the factory entrance.
The Bureau’s staff had set up a cordon outside the factory.
After the danger detection team confirmed that it was clear, the search team and the ambulance team entered the factory to search.

As for Blake Morton, he had been put into a special prison van.
