“Human, to be able to come here, you are no ordinary person.”
A mass of mist, a mixture of red and purple, floated in mid-air, speaking to the person at the bottom of the stone steps in a voice that was a mix of male and female.
“What on earth are you! What is this place!?”
The person at the bottom of the stone steps panted heavily, looking at the strange mist with dark green eyes above.
A gleaming short sword quietly appeared in his hand.
“Hahaha!”
The mist laughed loudly, the entire mass of mist violently scattering and trembling with laughter.
“Allow me to reintroduce myself. This is the Demon King’s Dungeon, and I am its master.”
“The most powerful existence of the First Epoch! Demon King—Xifeilisi!”
“Miss Mianbao, you’re awake?”
When Hu Qingyu saw Mianbao wake up, he immediately appeared before her eyes and looked at her with a smile.
“Yes, I’m awake.”
Mianbao coughed a few times and found that her original clothes were gone, replaced by the jacket Hu Qingyu had been wearing.
“Where are my clothes!?” Mianbao asked.
“I saw that your clothes were torn to shreds by that whatever-it-was Slime King, so I helped you take them off and threw them away,” Hu Qingyu said calmly.
“You did it on purpose, didn’t you!”
Mianbao was on the verge of going crazy.
How could this freakishly weird stinky fox be so casual!?
He just took off a girl’s clothes just like that?!
“I didn’t touch your undergarments,” Hu Qingyu said.
“It’s fine, anyway, the customs here are very open.”
“But they’re not that open! Besides! Isn’t your place very conservative? You wrap your hands and feet in clothes without showing anything! So how can you do this without any sense of shame! Are you some kind of weirdo from ‘Shenzhou’!”
Mianbao’s mouth rattled off a series of words like a Gatling gun.
She sighed, not planning to delve any further into this matter.
After all, she used to be a man, and her clothes were in tatters, so this was the only option.
Mianbao pulled at Hu Qingyu’s large jacket.
This piece of clothing was extremely ill-fitting for her.
The hem of the jacket didn’t go past the top of her thighs, and the sleeves were so long that only a few of Mianbao’s cute fingers were visible.
Smoothing out the wrinkles on the clothes, Mianbao began to button up the front of the jacket with the few fingers sticking out of the sleeves.
While buttoning, a very strange feeling rose in Mianbao’s heart.
‘Why… is there a sense of déjà vu, like “the morning after”? Tsk, whatever!’
After Mianbao put on Hu Qingyu’s clothes, Hu Qingyu suddenly regretted letting her wear his clothes.
Apart from her undergarments, Mianbao was only wearing this thin jacket.
A small section of her fingers poked out of the sleeves, looking delicate and weak.
A pair of fair, long legs were completely exposed to the air.
She actually gave off a very seductive vibe.
“I was unconscious just now. How did you manage to kill the Slime King?”
After Mianbao was perfectly dressed, she began to delve into the question of how Hu Qingyu, without a weapon, had managed to kill the Slime King on his own.
To this, Hu Qingyu first suppressed the strange impulse rising in his heart and only said, “I know a little bit of a powerful, magic-like power, and this power feels very effective against creatures with strong recovery abilities like slimes.”
As for whether it was magic, Hu Qingyu didn’t know either.
The move, Shadow Dragon · Death Thorn, did not consume mana or internal energy, but some other kind of power.
Hu Qingyu named this power “Spiritual Power,” though at first, he had actually wanted to call it Origin Power.
“Is that so? Then you’re very amazing.”
Mianbao praised Hu Qingyu with a blank expression and stuffed “Sirius” into the bag.
Then she opened the pocket on the bag specially designed for magic-engraved bullets and said with her back to Hu Qingyu, “If there are any more magical beasts later, we can only rely on you. I don’t have many bullets left in my bag.”
‘There are only ten of the most common level-one silver bullets left.
This number might not even be enough to kill a level-three magical beast.’ Mianbao thought as she zipped up the backpack.
‘But, there’s still the ace up my sleeve.’
Hu Qingyu nodded and said, “I know. Do you still need to rest, Miss Mianbao? If not, let’s continue downwards.”
“No need, let’s keep going. We’re in a hurry.”
Mianbao slung the backpack over one arm, and thinking she looked very cool, she flicked the hair on her head and walked towards the dark door with determined steps.
“Miss Mianbao, you’re going the wrong way. That door is the way we came up,” Hu Qingyu kindly reminded her.
“…”
“What is your name, human?” Xifeilisi said from above.
“My name I shall not change, my surname I shall not alter. This old man is Ye Cheng.”
Ye Cheng tightened his grip on the short sword in his hand and swallowed.
“Good!”
Xifeilisi suddenly flew around in the huge hall, and after a while, rushed straight to Ye Cheng.
Ye Cheng subconsciously wanted to stab with his knife, but he felt something restraining his hand, making it impossible for him to even move a finger.
“What kind of strange thing is this!”
Beads of sweat the size of beans fell from Ye Cheng’s forehead.
Even when he was about to be killed by Hu Qingyu back then, he had never been truly nervous.
“I want you to do something for me!”
Xifeilisi stared at Ye Cheng, its dark green eyes flashing with a strange light.
Ye Cheng said, “Speak, what is it?”
“The battle with the hero back then greatly depleted my vitality. Not only was my strength greatly weakened, but I haven’t recovered even now, and I can’t leave this place,” Xifeilisi said slowly.
“I want you to sign a contract with me and become my vessel! That way, I can get out of here and continuously recover my strength!”
“What benefits can I get!?” Ye Cheng asked sharply.
‘Become a vessel?
Thinking about it, it’s not a good thing.
If there are no benefits, he won’t do it.’
“Hehehe.”
Xifeilisi laughed grimly.
“You will gain even greater power and can become the new generation’s Demon King! Rule this Third Epoch!”
After walking through several more floors, there were still no magical beasts or anything else.
On the fourteenth floor, a huge and magnificent door stood before Mianbao and Hu Qingyu.
“If we push open this door, will we be able to get out?”
Mianbao’s hand traced the patterns on the door, whose meaning she couldn’t understand, and said.
“Perhaps it’s the door to the fifteenth floor,” Hu Qingyu said, stroking his chin.
“You also said, this might be the Demon King’s Dungeon. There are still eighty-six floors below waiting for us to walk through.”
“I only said it was possible,” Mianbao smacked her lips and retorted to Hu Qingyu.
Hu Qingyu shook his head speechlessly and raised his hand to push the door.
Who would have thought that before his hand even touched the door, the door itself slowly creaked open.
“Hu Qingyu, you refuse the path to heaven and throw yourself into the gate of hell! Today, you have arrived at the Demon King’s territory, so don’t even think about getting out of here alive!”
