Chapter 34: Please stop bothering me

Three hours passed.

In those three hours, Li Xinyao tried to strike up a conversation with me no less than thirty times.

From hobbies to personal life, from life experiences to relationships, he forced topics and pursued them relentlessly.

No matter how coldly I treated him, he just kept coming over to harass me.

‘This d*mn scoundrel, he’s trying to hit on guys too, isn’t he?’

If it weren’t for my role as a server, which prevents me from being rude to customers, I really would have planted a fist right on that face he thinks is so handsome.

Just last night he was harassing a female student from my school, and now he’s hitting on me.

He sure has a big appetite.

After I had expressed my lack of interest in his topics for the umpteenth time, Li Xinyao decided to get straight to the point and directly invited me to have dinner with him.

“I’m sorry, sir. I have urgent matters to attend to at home after my shift, so I’m afraid I cannot accept your invitation.”

But Li Xinyao had no intention of giving up and continued to pester me.

“Miss Maid, has something happened at home? Perhaps I could help you take care of it, I…”

“That won’t be necessary, sir. I don’t particularly like outsiders meddling in my family affairs. If you don’t mind, please stop bothering me. That would be the greatest help you could offer.”

I didn’t wait for him to finish, cutting him off directly.

‘Just give it a rest, please. Stop wasting time with me here. Sister Yan will be back in a few minutes, and I can get off work and go home to have dinner with Sister Yuan.’

‘Just hurry up and leave. Compared to a stinking man like you, I’d much rather have dinner with a beauty like Sister Yuan.’

“Are you sure? Miss Maid, I hope you’ll reconsider. Having a meal with me would absolutely be an experience that brings you great joy.”

Li Xinyao then took a business card out of his pocket, placed it on the table, and continued speaking with a gentle expression.

“This is my business card. If you change your mind, you can give me a call. I’ll be back tomorrow. Goodbye, Miss Maid.”

After he finished speaking, he waved at me, turned, and left the café.

‘What kind of person is he? Please, don’t come back. I don’t want to deal with an insensible piece of work like you again, and I couldn’t care less about eating with you.’

After he had completely disappeared from my sight, I picked up the business card from the table, and without a single glance, tore it into several pieces and threw it in the trash.

‘Such an annoying and terrible guy, yet he thinks so highly of himself.’

A few minutes later, Sister Yan arrived at the shop right on time.

After asking me about the day’s business, she let me clock out.

Once I had changed back into my clothes and walked out of the shop, I immediately saw the familiar black car parked by the roadside, and the female driver standing beside it.

I said nothing and walked straight over.

The driver opened the car door for me, then got into the driver’s seat herself.

“By the way, Miss Driver, what’s your name? Calling you ‘Miss Driver’ all the time feels a bit inappropriate.”

“My name is Lü Qingshang, Young Master. You can call me Qingshang, just like Manager Yun does.”

“That would be so impolite. You look a few years older than me, so I’ll just call you Sister Lü. Sister Lü, do you know what Auntie Yun Xi’s company is like?”

Lü Qingshang glanced back at me, her expression holding a strange hint of something.

Then she turned her head back and said, looking at the road ahead.

“Young Master, why the sudden interest in this? Did something happen?”

“It’s nothing, I was just asking casually. Can you tell me?”

“Young Master, if you want to know about this, you should ask the Young Miss yourself. She certainly knows more than I do. The Young Miss has given me strict orders to maintain secrecy around you, so I cannot disclose any related information.”

‘Is this matter that serious? Sister Yuan really doesn’t want me to know this much?’

I didn’t press Miss Lü Qingshang any further and fell silent.

‘I should just ask Sister Yuan directly, though she probably won’t tell me much either.’

After returning home, the moment I opened the door, I was pulled into the arms of Sister Yuan, who had been waiting for me.

“Xiao You is so slow. You made your big sister wait for so long again.”

“Don’t I come home around this time every day? Today is actually on the early side.”

“Which means Xiao You is slow every day. Do you have any idea how lonely and miserable your big sister is all alone at home?”

“Alright, alright, my job will be over in a few more days, so stop being so difficult, Sister Yuan.”

I raised my hand and, despite the seven or eight-centimeter height difference, patted Sister Yuan on the head.

“Silly Xiao You, don’t pat my head when you’re not even taller than me. You have no sense of seniority.”

Although Sister Yuan said this, her expression was clearly very happy.

Then she plunged both her hands into my hair and messed it all up.

Once we were seated at the dining table, I started asking about the matter I had just asked Miss Lü Qingshang about while eating the delicious food.

“Sister Yuan, Sister Yuan, what’s Auntie Yun Xi’s company like?”

“Why is Xiao You suddenly asking about this? Did something happen?”

Sister Yuan placed a slice of meat in my bowl, looking at me with a puzzled expression.

“Didn’t you say not to answer a question with a question, Sister Yuan?”

“My privileges as your older sister are absolute. Now, tell me, what happened to you, Xiao You?”

I gathered my thoughts and told Sister Yuan everything I had heard about Li Xinyao from Zheng Zong and An Xue Ruo, but I didn’t mention him harassing me at the café these past two nights.

I didn’t want her to worry about me, and for some strange reason, I felt that if Sister Yuan found out, this rich playboy would probably end up losing his life.

Sister Yuan tilted her head and thought for a moment, then looked at me with a smile and said:

“I see. Xiao You, you shouldn’t go snooping around about Mom and the others. When the time is right, I’ll naturally tell you. Don’t worry, Mom and the others are very capable people, just like your big sister. You don’t need to worry about them.”

She scooped up some of the thick soup from her bowl with a spoon, took a sip, and continued with a smile.

“As for that Li Xinyao, does Xiao You hate him? Should I help you physically erase him?”

“Physically erase? What do you mean, Sister Yuan?”

Although I already had an answer in my heart, I still couldn’t quite believe Sister Yuan would do something like that.

But then I remembered her previous yandere state, and upon careful thought, she probably really would do it.

“It means exactly what you think it means, Xiao You. How about it? Do you need your big sister to make him disappear?”

“No, no, that’s not necessary. Although I dislike him, it’s not to the point where I want him dead. Let’s just not get involved in their affairs.”

Sister Yuan put down her chopsticks, walked up behind me, wrapped her arms around my neck, and whispered in my ear.

“If you change your mind, Xiao You, and want him to disappear, you can tell me anytime. And if you don’t want to kill him, I can still make him regret ever provoking you in other ways.”

“He hasn’t really provoked me anyway. Alright, Sister Yuan, don’t hug me like this. I haven’t finished my dinner yet.”

Sister Yuan released one hand, picked up some rice from my bowl with her chopsticks, and put it in her own mouth.

Then, with her other hand, she pressed on my head, tilting it slightly towards her face.

Next, she leaned in and kissed me, using her tongue to push the rice from her mouth into mine.

“Feeding Xiao You like this seems to create more feeling. Xiao You, does the rice covered in my saliva taste even better?”

“Of course not! It’s gross!”
