After the movie, Luoyao and Noah strolled through Central Square.
Then they wandered the snack street.
Noah couldn’t eat human food.
But she loved watching Luoyao eat.
Silent chewing, focused munching.
When Noah fed her to her heart’s content, Luoyao’s little mouth stuffed full.
Her cheeks puffed out like a hamster’s.
Everything about Luoyao drew Noah in.
Her effortless cuteness always hit Noah’s heart unexpectedly.
She really loved this human.
Loved her so much… she wanted to turn her into a vampire.
Well, just a thought.
Turning a blood s*ave into a vampire was no big deal for others.
Just do it.
But Noah no longer saw Luoyao as a “s*ave.”
She wanted to respect Luoyao’s wishes and build a real connection.
Luoyao wanted to live as a human for now.
So Noah wouldn’t force a transformation.
Besides, Noah had plenty of time to stay by Luoyao’s side.
Plenty.
On the way home, they talked about the Blood Hunt Church’s mass vampire hunt.
“If the Church cracks down harder on vampires in the city, is it dangerous for you to stay at my place?”
“What, trying to kick me out, hm?”
“No, no, no!” Luoyao shook her head and hands frantically. “I’m just worried they’ll find you. If you get hurt like last time, I’d…”
Luoyao stopped, looking away, her voice softening.
“I’d feel heartbroken.”
That shy, sweet look was a critical hit to Noah’s soul.
If they weren’t on the street but at home, with Luoyao saying “I’d feel heartbroken” so softly…
Ahem—
Noah shook her head, clearing out the spicy thoughts. “It’s fine. The Church does sweeps every year. I’ve always come out fine.”
She continued, “The ones caught are newbies, inexperienced in human society. I’m a pro. Super cautious.”
“Good.”
Luoyao nodded thoughtfully, then caught the key word.
“Wait, a pro?”
She stopped walking, looking into Noah’s eyes. “Calling yourself a pro, huh? Senior Noah must’ve dated tons of girls, then?”
That “Senior” dripped with playful sarcasm.
She was fishing for Noah’s romantic history.
Luoyao probably assumed Noah had been with countless girls.
She’d already planned how to tease and mock her next.
Noah had always wanted to share her blank dating history.
But bringing it up unprompted felt weird.
“Nope, you’re my first love,” Noah said earnestly.
Luoyao’s expression shifted from

(Spill it, how many girls have you charmed? Give me a reason to get jealous and roast you, little Noah)
to

(I-I-I’m this silver-hair’s first love? We’re each other’s firsts? This, this, this… ababa!)
Seeing Luoyao’s shock, Noah grinned. “What, do I look like a dating expert?”
“Expert? With that drop-dead gorgeous face, you’re a dating superhero.”
Noah nodded. “Yup, a dating superhero. When I fall in love, I want to super-love.”
Luoyao stepped back warily, crossing her arms over her chest. “Control yourself.”
Noah spread her hands. “Okay, okay. Honestly, I’m not that into those things.”
“You expect me to believe that?”
“I do, because it’s not the act itself that interests me, but…”
Luoyao blinked. “But?”
“You.”
“…You can’t flirt with me like that on the street, you jerk!!”
“Fine, fine, I’ll flirt plenty when we’re home.”
Noah slung an arm around Luoyao’s shoulders.
They continued strolling toward home.
“Oh, speaking of,” Luoyao said. “When you were chatting with Anna, you mentioned ‘Mom.’ Who’s she?”
Curious little thing.
Noah explained patiently,
“Mom isn’t our biological mother. She’s the master who turned us from humans into vampires. Over three hundred years ago, I was just an ordinary girl. But Mom took me and turned me into a vampire.”
Luoyao pursed her lips. “Sounds… kind of harsh.”
“Hm? It’s okay. At first, I resented becoming a vampire. But over time, that faded.”
Noah gave a self-deprecating smile, looking at the starry sky. “I’ve even forgotten my original name.”
“All I remember is the name Mom gave me—Noah.”
“Name… huh?”
Luoyao thought for a moment, then asked, “Oh, and another thing! Suyue called you… what was it? Right, Yelan Noah. Is Yelan your vampire surname?”
“Yup, you could say that.”
“Mom’s name is Yelan, so all her turned children take her name as a surname. Not just me—Anna and Huangwei too.”
“Oh, got it…”
Noah stopped suddenly.
She turned, cupping Luoyao’s face gently, gazing fondly into her eyes. “So… little dummy.”
“Want to add ‘Noah’ to your name someday?”
