Chapter 78: I Want To See You Wear Cat Ears

Asexual individuals aren’t devoid of emotion.

They can still feel a form of affection called “love” for certain individuals.

But even if they harbor romantic inclinations or feelings, asexuals typically lack “sexual interest.”

They have no physical desires.

Most asexuals never engage in reproductive behavior in their lifetime.

A few, however, may choose to have a relationship with someone of the opposite s*x who desires a child.

Huangwei wasn’t sure which category Dr. Luo Qiange fell into.

But from the way Yelan spoke of her, with that tone and choice of words, Huangwei suspected Dr. Luo was a “romantic asexual” with a preference for women.

Yet no matter how charming a vampire might be, they couldn’t alter the basic rule of biology: only opposite-s*x relations could lead to reproduction.

So Huangwei couldn’t fathom how Dr. Luo, as a romantic asexual favoring women, had given birth to Luoyao.

“Well, regarding that question… it involves some cutting-edge biotechnology,” Yelan said.

Huangwei raised a brow, unable to resist a quip. “Mother, you can’t even figure out an old Nokia phone, and you’re telling me you understand advanced biotech?”

“Tch, watch your mouth.”

Yelan shot her a glance, chuckling, then continued.

“Luoyao was indeed carried and birthed by Dr. Luo Qiange after ten months. The sperm that led to her conception was artificially synthesized.”

“Artificially synthesized?”

“Yes. By isolating stem cells from bone marrow, you can cultivate artificial sperm. The stem cells used as raw material can be extracted not only from men but also from women, producing viable sperm just the same.”

Huangwei nodded slightly. “So, you’re saying Dr. Luo used artificial sperm from a female donor for conception? In other words, Luoyao has no biological father, but two mothers?”

“You could put it that way.”

“That’s… quite advanced. So who is Luoyao’s other mother?”

Yelan smiled playfully. “Guess.”

Huangwei blinked, biting her lip in thought for a moment before saying,

“It can’t be a human woman. Since you had access to such advanced biotech back then, creating a hybrid of vampire and human shouldn’t have been difficult, right?”

She paused, then added, “Besides, a few days ago, Luoyao destroyed Noah’s door in a moment of desperation. That alone proves she’s not a pure human.”

“Exactly. Luoyao’s other mother is indeed a vampire.”

Yelan closed her eyes slowly, saying softly, “A powerful and beautiful vampire.”

***

After leaving Yelan, the cunning silver-haired vampire and her little sweetheart were in high spirits.

It felt like a couple, initially disapproved of, had finally received the mother-in-law’s blessing after meeting her.

On the way back, Noah could openly wrap her arm around Luoyao’s waist, like any normal, affectionate couple showing off to passersby.

Luoyao, petite as she was, looked perfectly dainty nestled in the arms of Noah, who stood over five foot seven.

She loved being held by Noah—warm, grounding, and safe.

And, of course, soft.

When Noah held her, Luoyao sometimes wished her actions and posture could be… a bit rougher.

She admitted to herself she had certain… tendencies.

But those tendencies were absolutely not to be revealed in front of others.

So when Luoyao needed to “vent,” she’d never let Noah act that way if anyone else was around.

Whether Noah saw through her little thoughts or not, she never crossed that line in public.

But now, it was just the two of them.

Noah held Luoyao close, kissing her repeatedly, stroking her soft waist, and whispering in her ear, “You’re such a clingy little sprite.”

Luoyao tilted her head up, her big, watery eyes fixed on Noah, cheeks faintly flushed.

“I’m only like this with you.”

The moment her words fell, Noah kissed her.

This time, Noah’s kissing technique was especially skilled, teasing Luoyao’s body into heightened sensitivity without her realizing.

Luoyao’s soft waist unconsciously wrapped around Noah’s, her arms clinging to Noah’s neck, their bodies pressed tightly together.

“Luoyao, after what you said today, I couldn’t hold back,” Noah said hoarsely, her nose brushing Luoyao’s, eyes locked on Luoyao’s watery gaze, brimming with intense desire.

“What did I say?” Luoyao asked, puzzled.

She was clearly playing coy.

“You said you have no father, only two mothers,” Noah said, licking her lips, looking insatiable. “Right then, I wanted to scoop you up, pin you down, and make you call me… Mother.”

“Noah!” Luoyao’s cheeks flushed crimson. She broke free from Noah’s embrace, stood by the bed, and pointed at her. “You’re shameless!”

Noah didn’t chase her. Staring at Luoyao’s flushed face, she said with a wicked grin, “I may be shameless, but I have you.”

“You…” Luoyao was at a loss for words, her heart racing like a startled deer.

Seeing Luoyao’s face practically dripping with blush, Noah softened, beckoning her. “Come here.”

Luoyao eyed her warily.

“I just showered. I’m not going to do anything,” Noah said.

Luoyao hesitated, then slowly walked over.

As Noah reached to hug her, Luoyao put a hand up to her chest.

“Promise me you won’t say stuff like that again,” Luoyao said.

“I promise I won’t say it when you don’t like it,” Noah replied.

“What do you mean, ‘when I don’t like it’?” Luoyao’s cheeks grew even redder.

Noah didn’t answer. She scooped Luoyao up, flipped her onto the bed, and pinned her down.

Luoyao looked docile, and Noah stopped teasing.

“Luoyao, was that your first time kissing me?” Noah asked.

“No,” Luoyao said shyly.

“Then how many times?” Noah asked, curious.

“Guess,” Luoyao said.

“Hm… third?” Noah ventured.

“Nope,” Luoyao said.

“Then how many?” Noah asked, confused.

“It’s the first. I’ve never kissed you before,” Luoyao said, her cheeks flushed.

“What? You’ve never kissed me?” Noah asked, surprised.

“Mm,” Luoyao confirmed.

“But you definitely kissed me,” Noah said.

“I only kissed your cheek, not your lips,” Luoyao clarified.

“Oh,” Noah said, realization dawning.

“Have you kissed anyone else’s lips before?” Noah asked curiously.

“No,” Luoyao said.

“So you’re my first kiss?” Noah asked, hopeful.

“Yeah,” Luoyao said.

“Awesome!” Noah said gleefully.

“What’s with you?” Luoyao asked, puzzled.

“Nothing, just happy you’re my first kiss,” Noah said.

“Silly,” Luoyao said.

Noah didn’t say more, just held Luoyao tightly, whispering in her ear, “You’re mine.”

Luoyao’s cheeks were red, but she didn’t speak.

Noah didn’t say anything else either, just held Luoyao close and fell asleep.

Luoyao felt shy but didn’t resist, letting Noah hold her.

Perhaps because Noah was her true first love?

Everything Luoyao knew and felt about love came from Noah.

Her habits in love—like her submissive streak, her masochistic tendencies, her liking for being teased—were all shaped by Noah.

As the classic saying goes: body and soul, she was molded into Noah’s shape.

Now that their love had Yelan’s approval, Luoyao could let herself be even more “unrestrained,” becoming a submissive little rabbit in Noah’s arms.

“How’s your body feeling?” Noah asked.

“Better,” Luoyao said, then paused. “Tonight, do you want to… you know?”

She lifted her head, chin resting on Noah’s chest, giving her a teasing, inviting smile.

“Huh? N-No, I was just asking,” Noah stammered, caught off guard by Luoyao’s forwardness.

She’d only meant to check on Luoyao’s health, not imply anything about tonight.

Why was her little fool suddenly so… bold?

“Oh, like that, huh?” Luoyao said, sounding slightly disappointed.

Noah ruffled Luoyao’s hair, smiling. “Let’s wait till you’re fully recovered. I’m not in a rush.”

“Mm.”

“You’re not in a rush, but I am!” Luoyao thought.

Since learning about the Well of Atonement, her mood had been suppressed.

Finally, today, she could let loose, and this silver-haired tease had the nerve to say she wasn’t in a rush!

“Why don’t you use your mind-reading to see what I’m thinking right now?”

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

The only vampire who could switch between sly seductress and clueless straight girl was probably Noah!

Luoyao hung her head, inwardly ranting the whole way.

Until they ran into someone.

Both stopped in their tracks, looking at the girl before them.

It was Yu Xiao, Xiyue’s new blood s*ave.

She still wore that white dress, holding an old-fashioned phone.

This time, the phone was silent, not playing any soft music.

They exchanged a brief glance, passing without a greeting.

After Yu Xiao hurried off, Luoyao glanced back at her retreating figure, muttering, “Why’s she wandering around alone? So weird.”

Luoyao recalled the night she went to pick bellflowers, when she’d also run into Yu Xiao.

She’d seemed odd then too, and now this chance encounter made Luoyao mention it.

“Yeah, while we were stuck in the well, Huangwei noticed something off about Yu Xiao. She told me yesterday she talked to Xiyue about it,” Noah said.

“What did Xiyue say?”

Noah shrugged. “Xiyue and Huangwei both used mind-reading on Yu Xiao but found no suspicious memories or experiences. Probably just… her personality?”

“Oh, okay…”

“Yaoyao.”

“Hm?”

“I want to see you wear cat ears.”

“Huh?”

Talk about a topic jump!

(TN: Really weird how they haven’t kissed on the lips till this chapter, please let me know if it has happened in previous chapters.)
