Chapter 41: Feng Muying

Baiyun Town, Yixing Convenience Store.

At the enthusiastic invitation of the high school girl, Yuting and Lin You were watching cartoons.

“Ah You, look! That’s the Flame Magical Girl! She’s super strong.”

Yuting loved watching cartoons, and watching them with her boy-friend was an unprecedented first.

She licked the ice cream with the tip of her pink tongue, excitedly introducing the details of the cartoon to the boy beside her from time to time.

“Mhm, mhm, you’re right, Yuting.”

Lin You hadn’t watched TV in several years, and cartoons were completely different from what he remembered. He was watching in a daze, but in order not to disappoint his good friend, he deliberately pretended to be very excited.

“Your friend is a boy. Maybe he doesn’t like watching Magical Girl.”

Feng Muying noticed that Lin You seemed distracted and thought the cartoon wasn’t to his liking.

“Ah, then what cartoon do you like to watch, Ah You? I’ll have Sister Muying change it.”

Hearing the older girl’s reminder, Yuting immediately made a painful sacrifice.

She loved watching Magical Girl, but the boy’s feelings were clearly more important.

At her young age, Yuting was already capable of making the right choice.

“I want to go home… If I don’t go back soon, I’m afraid my grandma will worry.”

Lin You was actually thinking of his grandmother at home, and he spoke up weakly.

“Then let’s go home!”

Yuting’s mind had been full of cartoons just a moment ago, but when she heard the boy’s thoughts, she immediately came to her senses.

“Then I’ll walk you two out.”

Feng Muying put her phone in her pocket and made the suggestion.

“Ah You and I are not three-year-olds. We can go home by ourselves.”

Yuting’s first reaction was to refuse. After all, the walk home was their own little world for two. How could they let an adult be a third wheel?

“Big sister, thank you, but we can go home by ourselves.”

Lin You also didn’t want to trouble this kind big sister too much.

“It’s no trouble. I happen to have some business to take care of near little Yuting’s house, so I can walk you part of the way. It’ll also prevent some rude kids from causing you trouble.”

Feng Muying’s mind was almost that of an adult. Persuading two little kids was simple, wasn’t it?

“Alright then.”

“Thank you, big sister.”

The two little ones couldn’t find a reason to refuse and both agreed.

“Let’s go. I’ll walk you home.”

After persuading them, Feng Muying smiled and set off immediately.

They set off.

On the road, Feng Muying was in the middle, with Lin You and Yuting on her left and right.

“Hold big sister’s hand. Be careful of the passing cars.”

Feng Muying held the two students’ small hands. They were soft and tiny, and her palm could completely envelop them.

She was an only child, and at this moment, she had the strange feeling of having a younger brother and sister.

“Sister Muying is so naggy. I’m a big kid who can go home by myself.”

Yuting pouted and muttered disrespectfully.

Who asked Feng Muying to be a third wheel and even hold the boy’s little hand? That was originally hers, so she was annoyed.

“Yuting, don’t be like that. Big sister is just looking out for us.”

Lin You obediently let his hand be held and spoke up for Feng Muying.

Besides his grandmother, the girl’s large hand gave him a sense of security.

Normally, when the boy walked on the street, he was mostly apprehensive.

“It’s never wrong to be a little more careful.”

Feng Muying’s focus was on Lin You. Yuting was, at best, a buy-one-get-one-free deal.

‘His little hand is so soft and tender. I can’t believe the first hand I’m holding belongs to a first-grader.’

Feeling the sensation of the small hand in her palm, her thoughts strayed a little.

“Tomorrow is Sunday. Did your teachers assign you any homework?”

The young woman was cheerful and enthusiastic, always having something to talk about, so there were no dull moments on the road.

“Don’t even mention it. That horrible teacher doesn’t want me to have any fun at all. She assigned a pile of homework.”

Yuting’s face fell, her good mood for the holiday ruined.

“Yes, the language teacher assigned…”

Lin You, as if rattling off a menu, listed the homework assigned by each teacher.

“Wow, little brother, you remember so clearly? Your grades will definitely be great in the future.”

Feng Muying simply ignored the complaining Yuting and focused on talking with the little boy.

“It’s not as good as you say, big sister…”

Because they weren’t very familiar, Lin You’s little face flushed a bit after being praised by the girl. He was clearly shy.

“Ah You is my friend. Of course he’s amazing.”

Yuting puffed out her little chest, her face beaming with pride.

“By the way, what’s your name, little brother?”

There is a gradual process to everything. Feng Muying felt that now was a suitable time to ask for the boy’s name.

“Lin You.”

The boy immediately stated his name.

He had a very good impression of this warm-hearted young woman.

Moreover, the light she emitted was a friendly green, which also invisibly proved that she had no ill intentions.

“Lin You? Then I’ll call you little You from now on, is that okay?”

After learning the boy’s name, Feng Muying thought of a more suitable nickname.

“Mhm, big sister can call me little You.”

Lin You easily accepted this form of address.

“Sister Muying, Ah You is my good friend. You’re not trying to steal him, are you?”

Yuting was listening. Seeing how well the young woman and the boy were getting along, alarm bells went off in her heart, and she cried out as if guarding against a thief.

“Hahaha, why would I steal your friend? Little Yuting, you’re making a fuss over nothing.”

Feng Muying was amused by this little girl who hadn’t even fully grown up yet.

“Yuting, what are you saying? Big sister is not a bad person.”

Even Lin You felt that Yuting was being a bit unreasonable.

“Little You, I haven’t introduced myself yet. My surname is Feng, and my name is Muying. You can just call me Sister Muying, like little Yuting.”

After finding out the boy’s name, Feng Muying naturally introduced herself.

“Okay, Sister Muying!”

Lin You was a hundred percent willing and responded sweetly.

This was the first time he had experienced the care of a big sister. He valued and cherished it greatly.

“Tsk…”

The boy was happy, but Yuting was not pleased at all. It was all Feng Muying’s fault for stealing the boy’s attention.

“Is Sister Muying an adult who can earn her own money?”

This was the first time Lin You had interacted with someone in their teenage years, and he had many questions in his heart.

When he spoke, he had to tilt his little face up, because Feng Muying was over 1.7 meters tall, much taller than him, who was just over a meter.

“I’m currently a high school student. It’ll probably be another five or six years before I can go out to work and earn money.”

Being mistaken for a working adult, Feng Muying laughingly clarified.

“High school student? I’m an elementary school student. They sound a bit similar. Are they related?”

In the boy’s small world, there were so many unknowns.

“After you finish six years of elementary school, you can advance to middle school. After another three years, you can become a high school student just like me… But, I think it’s better to be an elementary school student. The pressure in high school is really high…”

Feng Muying walked with them, chatting with the boy in a lighthearted tone.
