“Oi, that’s a rare sight.”
Chen Xi, lying on her bed, watched Su Cheng below standing in front of the mirror, holding a dress against herself, and couldn’t help but be curious.
“Did the sun rise from the west today?” Sun Xiaochen chimed in.
Hearing their voices, Su Cheng felt both awkward and speechless.
“What’s so strange? What’s wrong with me wanting to wear some nice clothes and go for a stroll?” Su Cheng grumbled irritably.
“It’s just strange. Which CP are you going on a date with today?”
Su Cheng shot Chen Xi a glare, “What CP do I have? You make it sound like I have a lot of them.”
Chen Xi smiled and held up her fingers, counting them off one by one, “Look, first there’s our school belle, then our class monitor, and maybe there are a few others we don’t know about. All the pretty ones have been reeled in by you.”
“I bet all the guys in the university are going to cry,” Sun Xiaochen added.
“Hey! You two, can you stop slandering me? What do you mean I reeled them in? I haven’t done anything, and we’re all just classmates. Stop talking nonsense!”
“Oh~ I get it, I get it,” Chen Xi squinted at Su Cheng with a wicked smile. “Our Su Cheng has a harem of three thousand beauties.”
“Hmph, there’s no talking to you!”
Su Cheng grabbed a light blue short-sleeved dress and stomped towards the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.
A burst of laughter immediately erupted outside the door.
Su Cheng’s face was flushed red, an angry tic throbbing on her forehead.
“Damn it!”
A minute later, Su Cheng walked out with the pajamas she had changed out of, tied her hair into her most practiced ponytail, grabbed her essentials for going out, and left the dorm without looking back.
She stepped into the small leather shoes Lin Shiyue had given her, and Su Cheng felt much more comfortable.
Compared to the military training shoes, they were more comfortable by a long shot.
She scanned a code and hopped on a shared electric bike. The reason she didn’t choose the bus was that there was a mall on the way to Gu Xiya’s house with no bus stop.
Coincidentally, she had a coupon for the shared bike, so she could get one ride for free.
‘There’s no reason not to eat a free lunch.’
The moment Su Cheng twisted the throttle, she felt a cool breeze below as her skirt flew up.
She quickly raised her hand to press down the dancing hemline and clamped her legs together, narrowly avoiding a wardrobe malfunction.
‘I knew I shouldn’t have worn a skirt.’
But if she didn’t, Su Cheng felt it would be a waste of her delicate face.
After a ten-minute ride, she successfully arrived at the mall and headed straight for her destination.
“Please come again.”
Su Cheng walked out of the department store carrying a gift box, the smile on her face gradually fading, replaced by the uncomfortable pang of a hurting wallet.
‘Sigh, why is this thing so expensive? Forget it, I’ll have to find a part-time job later to earn some living expenses.’
Su Cheng stared worriedly at her WeChat Wallet, as if her eyes had gone blind and couldn’t see the balance inside.
Just now, when buying the gift for Gu Xiya, her WeChat Wallet had been completely emptied.
For the rest of the way, Su Cheng could only walk under the fading light of the setting sun. Fortunately, it wasn’t as scorching as it was at noon, so being in the sun wasn’t so unbearable.
Besides, it was only about a ten-minute walk from here, not too far.
Along the way, Su Cheng listened to music with her headphones, walking happily towards Gu Xiya’s home, looking forward to the birthday party tonight.
Following the navigation, she arrived at a residential complex called “Yongfu Garden.” Su Cheng successfully found Building 6, Unit 1, as indicated by the location, and just as she arrived, the door at the entrance was open.
She took the elevator and pressed the button for the tenth floor, which was also the top floor.
The time on her phone showed six-thirty in the afternoon, just as Su Cheng stepped out of the elevator on the tenth floor.
“1001, this is it. Whoa, this floor is so wide. Are there only two households per floor?”
Su Cheng scratched her head and rang the doorbell.
Before long, the door opened from the inside, and the one who greeted Su Cheng was Gu Xiya.
Su Cheng quickly sized Gu Xiya up.
A red, strapless mini-dress hugged her delicate figure, revealing her fragrant shoulders and collarbones; her long, waterfall-like golden hair was tied into a ponytail; she had a delicate nose and red lips; her cheeks were adorned with a light pink blush; her pair of bright eyes were captivatingly radiant.
She was more charming than ever before.
“Classmate Su, you’re here! Come on in,” Gu Xiya’s eyes were smiling, and the sweet smile on her face was brighter than usual.
Su Cheng wasn’t in a hurry to enter the house. Instead, she lifted the gift box first.
“Classmate Gu, take this. It’s a birthday gift for you.”
Gu Xiya’s eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, “Wow, thank you, Classmate Su! Thank you so much~”
Gu Xiya took the exquisitely wrapped gift box; it was quite heavy.
“Hahaha, I hope you like it.”
Su Cheng walked into the entryway and closed the door. Unexpectedly, Gu Xiya suddenly took a step forward and bowed her head slightly. Before Su Cheng could understand her intention, the sudden wet and warm touch on her cheek told her everything.
“Mwah~ Heehee, Classmate Su, you look so pretty today.”
“I… I do? I just threw something on, haha…”
Su Cheng laughed awkwardly with a hint of shyness, not expecting Gu Xiya to pull such a move.
This gift in exchange for a beauty’s fragrant kiss didn’t seem too bad.
She changed into the bunny slippers Gu Xiya had prepared for her.
Gu Xiya smiled sweetly, “Didn’t I say it before? Classmate Su looks very cute in a dress. Come with me.”
Gu Xiya carried the gift box and turned to walk inside, giving Su Cheng a chance to take a look around.
The dining room and the study, and finally the living room. The bedrooms were further inside.
“Whoa, so Classmate Gu lives in a large flat.”
“Yes, my home is quite big. If you get tired from playing tonight, Classmate Su, you can stay the night. It’s not far from the university anyway,” Gu Xiya said softly.
“Hahaha, we’ll see, we’ll see.”
Su Cheng was stunned for a moment and replied. A flicker of strangeness passed through Gu Xiya’s red eyes for just an instant before she quickly turned her back to Su Cheng.
At this time, there were already five girls sitting on the sofa in the living room, either eating snacks or chatting while cracking melon seeds.
“Yo, it’s the white-haired girl from that day. Hey, white-haired little sister.”
A girl with gray hair greeted Su Cheng. She was one of Gu Xiya’s roommates, Wen Yao.
“White-haired… little sister?” Su Cheng was speechless.
“Wen Yao, she’s no little sister. If it were me, I’d just be like: Hey~ Wifey~”
“Damn, Cheng Yuanyuan, you’re such a wifey-freak!”
This Cheng Yuanyuan was also one of the people from the barbecue that day, another of Gu Xiya’s roommates.
She hadn’t seen the other three before; she guessed they were probably Gu Xiya’s classmates.
And when Cheng Yuanyuan pretentiously called Su Cheng “wifey,” a cold glint flashed in Gu Xiya’s eyes, which then turned into a faint, cold smile.
No one present felt the chill in it, except for Su Cheng.
But Su Cheng didn’t pay it too much mind.
“Alright, you two, stop teasing Classmate Su. Everyone’s here, let’s eat.”
“Ooh! Seafood feast, here I come!” Wen Yao was the first to get up and rush to the dining room, with the others following closely behind.
Su Cheng and Gu Xiya weren’t in a hurry. After watching the five of them enter the dining room, Gu Xiya then took Su Cheng’s hand and walked in.
“Classmate Gu?”
Su Cheng was puzzled. Why did they have to hold hands for just a few short steps?
Su Cheng glanced sideways at the smiling Gu Xiya beside her.
Her pair of ruby-like eyes sparkled with a gentle, watery light.
“We’re having seafood tonight. Classmate Su, you’re not allergic to seafood, are you?”
Su Cheng smiled faintly, “No, not at all. You’re worrying too much, Classmate Gu.”
Gu Xiya nodded and led Su Cheng forward, “That’s good. I hope you’ll like it.”
The two of them finally arrived at the dining room. As they entered, everyone saw them walk in hand-in-hand, which couldn’t help but ignite their gossipy souls.
Just as Su Cheng sat down, Cheng Yuanyuan on her left immediately leaned over and whispered, nudging her arm.
“Hey, hey, Su Cheng, how did you and Xiya get together?”
“Get together? We’re just classmates,” Su Cheng said with a bewildered look.
“But would classmates be like this? You two just walked in holding hands,” Cheng Yuanyuan pressed.
“Isn’t that normal?” Su Cheng acted very calm. Gu Xiya, sitting on her right, didn’t say anything, silently peeling a shrimp.
“It’s not normal. We usually can’t even touch Xiya’s hand,” Cheng Yuanyuan whispered into Su Cheng’s ear, deliberately covering her mouth with her hand.
“Huh? Is that so?” Su Cheng instantly understood and sighed softly.
At this moment, Gu Xiya spoke up, her eyes focused, as she dipped a freshly peeled shrimp into the sauce.
“Don’t listen to her nonsense. They mess with me every day, that’s why I don’t let them touch my hand.” Gu Xiya held the shrimp to Su Cheng’s lips, “Classmate Su, have a big shrimp. Ah~”
“Ah-mm~ Mm! Delicious!” Su Cheng swallowed the shrimp, full of praise and satisfaction.
But as everyone watched Gu Xiya feed Su Cheng, they were green with envy. It felt like these two were feeding them dog food!
“I can’t take it anymore! Xiya, I want to eat an oyster, but you have to feed it to me!”
“I want to eat shrimp! Xiya, hurry up and peel one for me!”
“Cheng Yuanyuan and Wen Yao, do you two want to go home early? Huh?” Gu Xiya said with a smile, but a fierce light glinted in the depths of her eyes.“It’s not fair! We’re your roommates, but we don’t get this kind of treatment!” Wen Yao protested.
Cheng Yuanyuan nodded in agreement, “Exactly, exactly! Why are you only like this with Su Cheng? You’re playing favorites!”
Gu Xiya raised an eyebrow and snorted lightly, saying calmly, “You guys weren’t as thoughtful as Classmate Su. She even prepared a gift for me. What about you?”
Cheng Yuanyuan and Wen Yao could only smile awkwardly and remain silent. The other three also buried their heads in their food.
Only then did Su Cheng realize that she was the only one who had brought a gift.
“So, it’s only natural that Classmate Su gets my special reward. Classmate Su, have another one.”
“Huh? Another one?” Su Cheng’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she hesitated.
Gu Xiya smiled at her reassuringly, “It’s fine. Don’t mind them. Just eat.”
“Alright then, ah-mm…”
‘Heehee…’
Su Cheng ate while secretly delighted, partly because the food was delicious, and partly because she was being fed by a beauty.
This was probably the only time she would have the best of both worlds.
Su Cheng was happy to eat, and Gu Xiya was happy to feed her.
And under everyone’s watchful eyes, the actions of these two were truly dazzlingly affectionate. You have to remember, everyone else at the table was a single dog!
This meal thus began with the public display of affection put on by Gu Xiya and Su Cheng.
