Chapter 58: A Morning Surprise

He only knew that he had been sleeping peacefully and suddenly found himself gasping for air, as if on the verge of suffocation.

It was then that Xiyue realized something was amiss. He tried to push Chi Congyu away, but his lack of oxygen left him too weak to resist. He managed only a feeble push, which had no effect.

“Mm… mm… mm…” Xiyue tried to speak, but only muffled sounds escaped his lips.

To Xiyue’s surprise, his muffled noises only seemed to spur Chi Congyu on. She intensified the kiss, as if determined to drain him dry.

Xiyue weakly tried to fend her off, but his lack of strength made it impossible. Just as he felt he was about to pass out, Shangguan Yun burst into the room. She had woken early to prepare breakfast for Xiyue, who had been exhausted from practicing the Resurrection Spell. It was only 6 AM, and school was still two hours away. She wanted to make a special meal to replenish Xiyue’s strength. However, what she witnessed was beyond her imagination.

Xiyue was kissing Chi Congyu! Shangguan Yun stood frozen in shock for several minutes, unable to comprehend what she was seeing. She finally snapped out of her daze and examined the scene more closely. She saw that Xiyue was pinned beneath Chi Congyu, his eyes rolling back as he struggled for breath. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Shangguan Yun acted quickly. She cast an ice spell, her magic matching Xiyue’s elemental affinity. Although her magical prowess was far inferior to Xiyue’s, it was still impressive by ordinary standards.

“Ice Impact!” Shangguan Yun chanted, and a blue magical array appeared beneath her. The spell formed a complex pattern, and within seconds, a large ice ball materialized and hurtled towards Chi Congyu, striking her squarely and sending her flying across the room. She landed under the table, finally coming to a stop against a table leg.

Shangguan Yun rushed to Xiyue’s side, finding him unconscious with drool running down his face. She remembered a trick from a TV show and pinched his nose, to her relief, Xiyue began to regain consciousness. He gasped for air, his face a mess of saliva and tears. After several minutes of deep breathing, Xiyue managed to sit up against the wall, his mind reeling from what had just happened.

“Chi Congyu, you bastard! You took advantage of me while I was sleeping!” Xiyue thought, recalling the earlier incident with Ling’er. He was now at his wits’ end, feeling utterly defiled. Not once, but twice, and both times he had been the victim of a forceful kiss. How had he, a man, ended up in such a predicament? He vowed to be more cautious in the future, determined to guard against any further advances.

As Xiyue gathered his thoughts, Shangguan Yun’s stern face came into view. Her usual cheerful demeanor was replaced by a stormy expression.

“I… I’m sorry. I was asleep and… and she just… kissed me. I swear, there’s nothing between us. Please, don’t tell Ling’er about this. I’ll owe you a favor, and you can call on me anytime,” Xiyue pleaded, trying to charm her with a smile. But Shangguan Yun’s expression remained severe.

“Go wash your face. You’re a mess. And brush your teeth. I’ll take care of her,” Shangguan Yun said, pushing Xiyue towards the bathroom and shutting the door behind him.
