Selas was originally a united empire, but misrule caused misery in the eastern region.
Under tyrant Gamara, corruption spread, labor was forced, taxes were heavy, and the people needed a leader to escape tyranny.
Divine punishment descended upon Gamara.
An uprising began, led by Gelu Magnet, titled King of the East, splitting Eastern Selas.
At first he ruled as a dictator, and people were still unhappy.
His son Salam became Second King of the East and established a republic.
Productivity rose and people lived well.
Meanwhile the Selas homeland faced rapid government changes and economic collapse.
Salam launched war to unify the land.
Though poor at development, Selas rulers were skilled at war.
Eastern Selas was defeated, Salam was killed by a poisoned arrow.
His sister Mason became ruler, controlling religion, but was quickly overthrown by outsiders.
Eastern Selas was destroyed.
Later Mason’s son Klaus became Third King of the East, rebuilt the nation, and generations continued resistance to Selas.
To this day, the two nations remain unreconciled.
As the ancients said:
“Tyranny is fiercer than a tiger.”
