Chapter 30: Origin of the World · Illusions of the Gods (Chapter eleven)

From the darkness, evil spirits crawl out,

dragging themselves with malice.

Evil spirits bring fear,

bringing the bitterness of despair.

Look— that is the demon from hell spreading disaster,

with its wicked claws,

tearing apart our peaceful land.

It has a name,

a name that makes one tremble,

a name of a curse,

its name is Ershag,

and it solidifies our nightmares.

We open our eyes only to see its wicked deeds,

and so our hearts are filled with hatred,

leaving nothing but fear for tomorrow.

To banish Ershag once and for all,

we will fight with everything we have and charge forward.

And this is the struggle in which our suffering finds its only salvation—

resistance is the way out.
