Chapter 44: A Deal with the Blood Elf

“A little cat with the power of invisibility, capable of bestowing it upon others, and seemingly adept at concealing its own aura.”

“Without thermal sensing, I truly would not have been able to find you!”

Mao Yuxia and Ahoge Dragon, however, stood no chance of escape.

They were effortlessly seized.

Compelled to reveal their true forms.

Mao Yuxia trembled uncontrollably with fright, while Ahoge Dragon remained utterly dazed.

Having been thoroughly overwhelmed by pleasure, the magic patterns on her belly, though no longer scorching, still pulsed with the lingering sensation of that explosive power.

Yet the sensation of that earlier surge of power persisted.

“Such remarkable invisibility, this one must be kept. As for this lizard monster… it shall be eaten!”

Having shrunken to such a diminutive size, the Blood Elf was acutely hungry.

Mao Yuxia’s ability was truly extraordinary, allowing two mere two-star half-demons to move right under the Blood Elf’s very nose.

If she were to acquire such a power, might she not finally escape this confined place?

Consequently, her gaze upon Mao Yuxia intensified, becoming even more fervent.

Mao Yuxia felt herself on the verge of fainting; such a look could only mean she was about to be devoured!

As she watched the Blood Elf slowly draw nearer, the terror etched upon Mao Yuxia’s face escalated with each passing moment.

Tears had long since begun to well in her eyes.

Finally, she could hold them back no longer; they streamed down her cheeks as she whimpered and cried out:

“Meow~ Please don’t eat me, meow~~ I’m—I’m not… not tasty at all~~”

Yet, what awaited her was not the agony of being torn apart, but a tender caress upon her head.

It felt akin to the comforting touch of a mother stroking her child’s head in solace.

This familiar sensation significantly diminished the terror swelling within Mao Yuxia’s heart.

“Little kitty, I am offering you a path to survival. Should you choose to follow me, I vow to treat you kindly.”

“I require your abilities!”

The Blood Elf spoke with a gentle cadence.

Mao Yuxia cautiously lifted her head, scrutinizing the loli Blood Elf, and observed that she wasn’t nearly as terrifying as she had initially seemed.

In fact, she was rather cute.

However, upon carefully pondering the loli Blood Elf’s words, Mao Yuxia’s brief moment of relief vanished, replaced by a sudden wave of apprehension.

To align herself with the Elf tribe? That was a death sentence!

“So, what will it be? To be drained dry by me, or to depart this place with me?”

“Surely, this isn’t a difficult choice to make!”

Between betrayal and survival, Mao Yuxia found herself in a rare dilemma.

“Very well, you may consider your options here for the night. My stomach is rumbling. Tonight, this lizard monster shall serve as my dinner.”

The loli Blood Elf decided to grant Mao Yuxia a full night to deliberate her decision.

Meanwhile, gazing at the still-unconscious Ahoge Dragon, she resolved to thoroughly torment the creature.

This would surely demonstrate to Mao Yuxia the agony of refusing her.

Perhaps, witnessing Ahoge Dragon’s suffering—a fate worse than death—Mao Yuxia would be persuaded to accept.

With the sword prodigy Gudou Toutian already secured, and now Mao Yuxia with her unique abilities, the future looked exceedingly promising.

Her own future was undoubtedly bright!

“No… don’t eat little Ahoge Dragon…”

Witnessing the Blood Elf’s intent to consume Ahoge Dragon, Mao Yuxia, spurred by an unknown impulse, courageously positioned herself in front of the loli Blood Elf.

Though her body still trembled uncontrollably and her eyes were wide with fear.

“Why? I am quite hungry right now, and this foul lizard appears utterly useless. It would make perfect sustenance.”

Nevertheless, observing Mao Yuxia’s courageous stand for her friend, the Blood Elf found herself admiring her.

How she longed for Mao Yuxia to become her subordinate, to pledge such unwavering loyalty!

“Eat… eat me instead… I am… the most useless one…”

“Hoho~~ You possess considerable courage. However, I cannot bring myself to consume you. After all, at this moment, no one else but you can aid me in escaping this place.”

The Blood Elf placed a hand on Mao Yuxia’s face, gently rubbing her cheeks, which were stiff with tension.

Mao Yuxia found the sensation deeply unsettling.

“If you… if you consume little Ahoge Dragon… with only my abilities, you—you still won’t be able to escape!”

“Why?” the Blood Elf inquired, genuinely puzzled. Such matters were of considerable importance to her.

If she couldn’t escape, what good would any acquisition do her?

“I only possess the power of invisibility, but… little Ahoge Dragon, she can mimic the aura of vegetation! This would allow us to conceal ourselves far more effectively…”

Only by revealing this secret could she hope to prevent the Blood Elf from killing them both.

“You truly are clever; I find myself desiring you more and more.”

Given this revelation, the Blood Elf genuinely couldn’t harm Ahoge Dragon.

However, as she clutched her small stomach and watched her hair slowly turn white.

If she didn’t consume blood soon, she herself would be in grave danger.

Thus, she took Mao Yuxia’s small hand and said, “Be a good girl and let me take a sip; I promise I won’t kill her.”

“Mmm~ Really?” Mao Yuxia was a tangle of conflicting emotions, simultaneously joyous and terrified.

“Do you truly believe I would dare to kill you now? I still depend on both of you to escape this place.”

Then, her small tongue flicked across Mao Yuxia’s arm before she bit down sharply.

Mao Yuxia’s face contorted in excruciating pain, as beads of sweat and tears simultaneously streamed down her cheeks.

The agony was unbearable.

After a moment of drawing blood, the Blood Elf observed her hair regaining its crimson hue and felt immensely satisfied.

She then crouched down and seized Ahoge Dragon’s arm.

She had not yet had her fill.

“Didn’t you promise not to harm little Ahoge Dragon?! Why!”

Mao Yuxia was filled with bitter resentment; this Blood Elf was truly wicked, daring to deceive her so brazenly!

“I said I wouldn’t kill her, not that I wouldn’t draw her blood. Without consuming her blood, I would find myself in quite a predicament.”

Having said this, the Blood Elf bit down immediately!

“Hmph hmph hmph! Aaaahhhhhh—!”

Such excruciating pain! Ahoge Dragon first let out a muffled groan of agony, then abruptly sat up from the ground.

Her screams rivaled the shrieks of pigs being slaughtered at the village entrance!

“You… who the hell are you?! Why! Why are you biting me… such a… cute little loli you are~~”

Ahoge Dragon bellowed, intending to curse the one before her to death, but upon seeing the soft, delicate Blood Elf.

Ahoge Dragon was utterly captivated by her cuteness.

Especially adorable was the sight of her cheeks bulging as she bit into Ahoge Dragon’s arm.

She was simply too cute!

“Oh! You’re awake already? But… your blood… what kind of blood is this?”

She had merely taken a sip or two of Ahoge Dragon’s blood.

Yet, the Blood Elf felt her entire being replenished, as if completely refilled.

A sudden itch erupted across her back, akin to a burning sensation, yet also as if countless ants were scuttling over her skin!

It felt as though something was about to emerge from her back!

“Could it be… elven wings…? No… this is impossible… to sprout wings, one must at least reach the seventh level… Ahhh~~”

The Blood Elf was seen hovering in mid-air, her hands frantically scratching at her back, her body writhing in agonizing contortions.

The sight left anyone who witnessed it utterly bewildered.

“Little sister, what’s happening to you?!”

Ahoge Dragon, oblivious to the cause, regarded the Blood Elf with a face full of genuine concern.

Someone so adorable simply had to be a good person!

“Ugh… Aaaahhh!”

The Blood Elf continued to thrash in torment!

“Little Ahoge Dragon, we must escape quickly!”

Mao Yuxia, however, recognized this as a prime opportunity. She seized Ahoge Dragon’s arm and prepared to flee into the distance!

She believed there was a significant chance they could escape.

Even if they failed to escape, the loli Blood Elf would surely spare them both, valuing their unique abilities.

“Eh, eh, eh? Why are we running away?! Such a cute little sister is suffering so much; we ought to help her!”

“Foolish Ahoge Dragon! Do not mistake cuteness for kindness! She is a Blood Elf, after all!

If we remain, we’ll either be exploited or have our blood drained! Have you already forgotten the agony of being bitten and having your blood sucked just moments ago?”

“Hiss—why… why would it be like this…?”

Ahoge Dragon gasped, a shiver running down her spine. Though she found it hard to believe, she had indeed been bitten and had her blood drawn just moments before.

Moreover, she knew her own blood possessed extraordinary properties, and this Blood Elf’s mutation had to be a direct result of it!

With that realization, Mao Yuxia pulled her along, and they fled.
