Amidst the pounding music, Ji Wenyan watched the men and women swaying by the pool, his face devoid of much expression.
He silently sipped the juice in his glass, occasionally lifting his gaze to observe the women passing by. Upon seeing their uniformly sculpted faces, a wave of disappointment swept over him, and he quickly averted his eyes.
‘This party isn’t exactly a roaring success,’ he thought.
‘He’d been looking for ages, yet all he saw were duds.’
‘Damn it, what a waste of time.’
[System: Host, please select a cultivation target as soon as possible. Failure to do so before midnight tonight will result in death!]
‘Here it comes,’ he mused.
Hearing the voice resonate, Ji Wenyan rolled his eyes in exasperation. ‘He’d only been out of the hospital for half a day; couldn’t it give him a little more time?’ he wondered.
‘If he died, his body would split in two again, wouldn’t it?’
Yet, selecting a cultivation target…
This was not a decision to be made lightly or impulsively.
At least, after observing numerous women, Ji Wenyan felt even more certain of this.
For instance, a woman standing beside him, despite her face being devoid of any distinctive features due to cosmetic surgery, possessed an undeniably excellent figure—ample breasts and rounded hips.

Staring intently at the line of text hovering above the woman’s head, Ji Wenyan mused that if he were to voice what he saw, people would likely deem him insane and have him committed to a mental asylum.
However, when his gaze shifted, Ji Wenyan observed another woman.
She was young, charming, and delicate, clinging to her companion like a small bird.
Yet, her face was plastered with a fake smile, and one hand was restlessly exploring the area around the man’s crotch beside her.

Ji Wenyan had observed quite a few women that day.
However, none of them had a growth potential higher than 2%.
Such abysmal growth potential left him utterly devoid of any interest in cultivating them.
Especially since the system required him to cultivate a god-tier beauty to completely escape the threat of death.
If he wished to avoid death, he had no choice but to make a selection.

“Young Master Ji, why are you so quiet today? Is it because there aren’t enough girls here to catch your eye?”
“If you already know, why bother asking?”
“Tsk, tsk, you really need to change that foul temper of yours! Your dad already banished you to U City for school. If you keep this up, he’ll send you to study in the middle of nowhere.”
“Says the one who isn’t studying in U City himself.”
Just as Ji Wenyan was getting a headache from surveying the women around him, a male voice suddenly rang out. The teasing words prompted Ji Wenyan to cast an exasperated glance, though he made no move to rise from his seat.
Remaining lazily in his chair, Ji Wenyan watched Shen Hua approach, a beautiful woman draped on each arm and an undisguised look of triumph on his face.
As for this fellow, Ji Wenyan truly didn’t know what to say.
If he were to truly elaborate on their relationship, he could talk for three days and three nights without finishing.
To put it simply, if Shen Hua were a woman, Ji Wenyan would probably already be engaged to him.
Unfortunately, Shen Hua was a man.
What’s more, he was a notorious playboy, making Ji Wenyan genuinely worry that one day he’d die in bed and end up as a headline in the entertainment news.
Beyond that, Ji Wenyan also suspected that Shen Hua wasn’t quite right in the head.
From childhood onward, there hadn’t been a single day they met without arguing.
It was partly to avoid this guy that Ji Wenyan had gone to a private aristocratic high school in the neighboring H City. But who could have foreseen such a dreadful thing as a car accident, resulting in his father directly packing him up and sending him back to U City?
And that wasn’t even the worst of it.
Ji Wenyan knew that Shen Hua also attended the public high school he was about to transfer to, and they were soon to become classmates.
Thinking of the dark days ahead, Ji Wenyan suddenly felt that after being resurrected, he was facing even more difficulties!
“Tsk, tsk, you can just ponder by yourself. I’m off to have some fun with the girls.”
Seeing Ji Wenyan’s unwillingness to speak, Shen Hua understood that he had just been through a car accident and likely wasn’t in the mood to flirt. Thus, he said nothing further in his presence.
With a woman’s arm around each of his, Shen Hua, a look of eager impatience on his face, headed towards a nearby villa.
Observing his friend’s antics, Ji Wenyan could only silently wish Shen Hua wouldn’t die in bed. He then turned his head once more, scanning his surroundings, intent on finding a woman with high growth potential.
Even now, Ji Wenyan could vividly recall the terror of seeing his body split in two during the car accident.
He had been on the brink of death, yet Ji Wenyan had come back to life.
More precisely, the system had resurrected him.
However, resurrection came with a price.
He had to cultivate a god-tier beauty and sign an agreement with her. Only by truly cultivating a god-tier beauty could Ji Wenyan achieve true resurrection!
The system had not directly revealed the specific details to him.
He first needed to select a woman as his cultivation target before it would provide the subsequent plan.
‘Damn it, he hoped he’d find the scoundrel who framed him!’
The car accident hadn’t been normal.
At the very least, after the police investigated, they listed various suspicious points, clearing Ji Wenyan of any suspicion.
Otherwise, Ji Wenyan felt he truly would have been sent to the middle of nowhere…
The thought further deepened Ji Wenyan’s already gloomy mood.
Seeing his glass of juice was empty, Ji Wenyan casually waved a hand towards a nearby waiter. Once the waiter quickly approached, he placed the empty glass on the tray, instructing them to bring a fresh one.
Although everyone else at the party was drinking alcohol, Ji Wenyan had sworn off it after his car accident.
‘If he drank again, he’d be an idiot.’
“Get me an orange juice.”
“Certainly.”
Upon hearing the waiter’s reply, the voice was remarkably soft and pleasant, causing Ji Wenyan to instinctively look up.
The next second, he froze.
