Chapter 3: The Loli Fairy Descends from the Sky

Pain, endless pain.

His body could not move at all.

It felt as though he was bound tight, locked inside a sealed coffin, and left adrift helplessly on a reverse-flowing river with nowhere to settle.

The boundless darkness seemed to have no end.

Yet at a single moment, a sharp pinprick of light pierced through the pitch-black sky, bringing the warmth of hope.

“Wake up, little baby, wake up…”

Gasp!

Lu Ke opened his eyes wide in a frenzy.

What met his vision was an extremely unfamiliar face.

“Eek!”

The girl shrieked and leaped backward, seemingly startled by his sudden “corpse resurrection.”

Lu Ke was utterly bewildered.

He looked inward with his divine sense, quietly feeling his current condition.

Weak and aching, but not entirely unbearable.

He gently pushed himself up, only to realize he was dressed in a fitting silk nightgown, lying on a luxurious velvet bed.

“This style is truly extravagant.”

Lu Ke couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

As the Senior Brother managing the living expenses of the entire Bamboo Branch, he was accustomed to strict frugality.

He wished he could split a single spirit stone into four pieces.

Aside from matters related to cultivation, he saved on every other expense.

Even as the noble Senior Brother of a branch, he still lived in a shabby little thatched hut!

His gaze swept across the room.

It wasn’t very large—a windowsill, a wardrobe, a bookshelf, a small desk, and the small bed he was currently lying on.

The overall style was themed in pink, supplemented by small blue-and-white accessories.

A thick, soft carpet was spread across the floor.

Though not spacious, it was surprisingly exquisite, resembling the bedroom of an adorable girl.

He shifted his gaze downward.

Sure enough, he spotted a tiny, adorable loli squatting on the carpet far from the bed.

She wore a pale pink ethereal mini-dress.

Perhaps because she was at home, she wore no accessories.

A mane of silky black hair draped naturally over her shoulders.

She wore no socks under her skirt, exposing a large portion of smooth, fair legs.

Her skin was so delicate and soft that one couldn’t help but want to slide along those smooth curves.

A pair of tiny, exquisite, and cute bare feet stepped directly on the ground, radiating a dizzying glow.

Huh? Cute little feet?

Lu Ke dazed off for a moment.

He felt a strange sense of familiarity, as if he had seen them somewhere before.

Wait! Wasn’t this his savior?!

Realizing this late, he ignored the pain in his body.

He forced himself to sit up, cupped his fists, and bowed: “Thank you… young lady, for saving my life.”

The moment the words left his mouth, even Lu Ke himself froze.

The soft, tender echo of the voice in his ears… was that really his own voice?

Before he had time to think, seeing him sit up, the cute girl immediately stepped forward.

Her soft, boneless hand naturally rested on his head, stroking it gently.

However, the words that blurted out of her mouth were completely mismatched with her appearance:

“It’s alright, little baby. I just happened to pass by and saved your life on a whim…”

“How are you going to repay me?”

“Uh, well…”

Lu Ke was stunned by her explosive declaration.

He stared back at her in disbelief.

The girl paid no mind to his shock at all.

She reached out her small hands to affectionately rub his cheeks, then thoughtfully tidied his messy collar, talking to herself:

“I don’t care what you think. Since I saved your life, you are my person from now on. You must stay obediently by my side and keep me company for the rest of your life~”

Hold on, big sister, how do you pull off such a thunderous statement with such a tiny, cute body?

Lu Ke’s eyes quickly swept over her small figure—less than a meter and a half tall, resembling a life-sized doll—and her completely flat chest, causing his vision to go black.

Oh no, where did this boss lady come from?!

Demanding a repayment right after saving him was one thing, but insisting he give his life to her… should he just offer his body in marriage while he was at it?!

Of course, complaints aside, she truly had saved his life.

It was only right for her to ask for a reward, and demanding his life in return wasn’t unreasonable either.

He owed her this debt.

Lu Ke had a clear understanding of this fact.

Therefore, he didn’t voice any disagreement.

He simply nodded gently and said with utmost solemnity:

“Young lady… Senior’s kindness will forever be engraved in my heart. I will surely repay this life-saving grace with my life in the future. Mountain of daggers or sea of flames, I will never refuse!”

Unexpectedly, the girl seemed dissatisfied with his declaration.

She merely let out a soft hmph, placed her hands on her hips, puffed out her cheeks, and murmured a small complaint:

“Who wants you to repay me with your life in the future? I want your reward right now—leave your life by my side.”

“Sigh!”

Faced with this request that wasn’t entirely unreasonable, Lu Ke let out a bitter smile and shrugged helplessly.

This was the only demand he truly could not fulfill right now.

Because in name, he was still the Senior Brother of the Bamboo Branch.

His fate was tied to Bamboo Peak, and his life didn’t even belong to him yet!

“Hmph hmph~ And here you were talking about mountains of daggers and seas of flames…”

As if sensing Lu Ke’s internal struggle and difficulty, the girl pouted her lips and grumbled dissatisfiedly for a moment.

Yet in the next second, she switched back to a gentle, considerate demeanor.

She let out a soft chuckle and gently stroked his head: “Little baby, I was just teasing you~”

Within the Hundred Flowers Sect, mountain peaks stood tall, and factions were strictly organized.

She naturally understood that forcing someone to defect from their faction to join hers without cause was no different from becoming a public enemy and cutting off their own path.

In other words, no matter how impatiently she wanted to snatch him, she had to at least get the approval of his branch head first.

“So you were just teasing me~”

Hearing this, Lu Ke finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“This…” Lu Ke looked at the girl’s tiny, delicate frame.

Calling her “little sister” felt like taking advantage of her, while calling her “big sister” felt inappropriate.

After pondering for a moment, he could only cup his fists and answer softly: “Senior…”

“Bai Xiaoyu.”

The girl looked at him quietly, her eyes deep and mysterious, as if capable of seeing through the hidden secrets of one’s heart.

Her beautiful red pupils resembled naturally carved, brilliant rubies, yet upon closer inspection, they gave off a dangerous aura.

“This… Senior Bai.”

In the next second, before Lu Ke could finish his address, the girl raised her hand to interrupt him: “Oh my, why are you calling me Senior Bai? You’re making me sound so old!”

“Uh…”

Hearing this, Lu Ke was genuinely at a loss.

Even combining his twenty-plus years of being single on Earth in his past life with his current life, he truly didn’t have much experience dealing with women!

“Hmm?”

Seeing Lu Ke hesitate, the girl suddenly leaned forward.

Even though her height sitting down was a head shorter than Lu Ke, her presence was immensely pressuring.

Her beautiful, large eyes stared straight at him, her gaze deep: “What, do you really not understand?”

Unable to withstand the pressure, Lu Ke frantically searched his empty mind for ideas.

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration hit him, and he cupped his fists once more: “Then… Senior Xiaoyu?”

“…”

This finally left Bai Xiaoyu completely speechless.

She rolled her eyes, deciding to let it be and no longer dwell on the matter of titles.

Seeing this, Lu Ke relaxed.

He cupped his fists respectfully once more, his attitude sincere:

“Thank you for your understanding, Senior Xiaoyu. I am Lu Ke, the current Chief Disciple of the Bamboo Branch. If you ever need my services in the future, please do not hesitate to speak.”

“Fine, fine.”

Though she didn’t achieve her initial goal, Bai Xiaoyu wasn’t angry.

Instead, she waved her hand and smiled generously: “Little baby, you’re still injured right now. Rest well and heal up first~”

Hearing her response, Lu Ke felt a weight lift from his mind, finally easing his worries completely.

At this moment, he felt that Bai Xiaoyu before him was extraordinarily adorable.

She was likely the most considerate and reasonable woman he had encountered to date.

What an absolute gem of a woman!
