Chapter 4: Succubus Camp

I closed the notebook and let out a slow breath.

“This is really… the point of no return now.”

The warning written on the note wouldn’t leave my mind.

[DON’T TRUST THEM!]

If that was true, I couldn’t stay in this camp any longer.

‘I have to get out of here. No matter what…’

I slowly approached the back entrance of the tent.

Before opening the door, I held my breath, making sure no sound would come out.

Outside, the tents were silently spread across the area.

Fortunately, it seemed like no one was around.

In the stillness of the windless night, I carefully stepped outside, muffling my footsteps as much as possible.

‘Please… let no one notice…’

I prayed that my footsteps wouldn’t echo between the tents.

Amidst the tension, my heart was pounding violently.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

A chilling voice called out from behind me.

For a moment, it felt like my breath stopped.

Slowly turning my head, I saw them.

The women from the camp were standing there.

Their faces were completely different from before.

The kind and welcoming smiles they had once worn were gone, replaced with twisted expressions full of desire.

Their eyes gleamed with a strange light, and a sinister madness curled at the corners of their lips.

“You… after all the warmth we showed you, you’re trying to run away?”

One woman whispered in a low voice.

There was a bestial tremor in her tone.

“Bad children… must be…”

“Punished, hmm… in the most pleasurable way.”

The other women behind her were also smiling, but those smiles were no longer warm.

Their lips were stretched into unnatural grins, and I could hear faint, excited breathing.

“Come here. It’s okay. We’re all you need…”

A shiver ran down my spine.

Instinctively, I turned and ran.

‘I have to get out of here… I have to escape now!’

That was the only thought filling my mind.

“Ahhh!”

I sprinted with all my strength.

“Catch her!”

“Don’t let her escape! Hurry!”

They began chasing me like crazed beasts.

I was already running out of breath, but I couldn’t stop moving my legs.

One thought dominated my mind—there was only one exit I knew.

The dusty old warehouse where I had first entered this camp.

I had to find it.

I had no time to look back.

Their presence was drawing closer and closer.

Then, suddenly, someone grabbed my coat.

“Ahhh!”

My body jerked backward.

I instinctively struggled, kicking and thrashing.

But more and more of them latched onto my coat.

In an instant, my body felt unbearably heavy.

“…You can’t escape.”

They were laughing.

Sharp fangs gleamed from within their mouths.

With manic expressions, they started pulling at my coat.

If I stayed in my clothes, something terrible would surely happen.

With a scream, I tore off my coat and threw it away.

“Kyaah!”

“A coat soaked in a young girl’s scent…!”

“It’s mine!”

“No, it’s mine!”

They shrieked and fought amongst themselves over the coat, making disturbing noises.

I used that moment to slip away and started running again.

“Stop right there!”

Their voices screeched behind me.

With my arms pumping, I ran as fast as I could toward the exit.

My mind went blank, my breathing was ragged, but I couldn’t stop.

I must not stop.

At last, I saw it.

The warehouse where I had first entered the camp glowed faintly in the distance.

Thankfully, I remembered its location thanks to the lantern.

“There…!”

I threw myself through the doorway.

At the same time, I slammed the warehouse door shut.

The sounds of their voices and footsteps gradually faded.

Lying on the floor, I gasped for breath and stared at the door.

“I… I made it…”

It seemed like they weren’t trying to break through.

That was a relief.

“Phew…”

They started shrieking and making disgusting noises as they fought over my coat.

I took advantage of the chaos, slipped away, and ran again.

“Stop right there!”

Their voices rang out behind me like desperate screams.

I swung my arms wildly and sprinted toward the exit with all my strength.

My mind went blank, and my breath was already ragged, but I couldn’t stop.

I must not stop.

At last, I saw the exit.

The warehouse where I had entered was faintly glowing in the distance.

Thankfully, I remembered its location because of the lantern.

“There…!”

I threw myself through the door.

At the same time, I slammed the slightly open warehouse door shut.

The voices and footsteps behind me gradually faded.

Lying on the ground, I gasped for breath and stared at the door.

“I… I survived…”

It seemed like they weren’t trying to force their way in.

That was a relief.

“Phew…”

After resting for a while, I stepped out of the warehouse and entered the vast space once more.

My heart was still racing, but the relief of having escaped them helped me calm down.

‘This place… was called Level 1, right?’

I slowly looked around.

It still looked like an endless parking lot.

Faint division lines remained on the floor, and here and there, I saw closed warehouse doors and old office buildings.

“What was this place used for…?”

No matter how much I thought about it, I couldn’t come up with an answer.

I simply walked forward, hoping to find the end of this place.

But after what felt like hours, my steps grew heavier.

I could feel my body weakening.

I was starving.

I had been too focused on escaping them to notice, but now the emptiness in my stomach felt like it was eating away at me.

My head was pounding, and my legs refused to move properly.

I rummaged through my bag and pulled out the canned tomato soup they had given me.

Somehow, the can felt strangely heavy in my hand.

“…Should I eat this?”

The warning on the note resurfaced in my mind.

I must not trust anything from them.

If that was true, then this canned soup might not be safe either.

I hesitated, running my fingers over the can’s surface.

But I had no other choice.

If I collapsed from hunger, I would be in even greater danger.

In the end, I opened the can.

The moment the lid came off, a familiar scent of tomato soup wafted into my nose.

The color looked fine.

There was no strange smell either.

I carefully dipped my fingertip into the soup and brought it to my lips.

I rolled a single drop over my tongue.

…There didn’t seem to be any poison.

Nothing felt wrong after a while.

‘Is it really safe to eat…?’

I was still hesitant, but my extreme hunger overpowered my doubts.

My young body was far weaker against hunger than my mind had anticipated.

“…I don’t have a choice.”

Taking a deep breath, I scooped up a spoonful of soup and tasted it.

The liquid slid down my throat, neither too hot nor too cold.

It didn’t taste bad.

At first, I ate slowly and cautiously, taking small sips.

Before I knew it, I was lifting the can and drinking directly from it.

As my stomach gradually filled, I felt warmth spreading through my body.

‘Now that I’ve eaten something, I feel a little better.’

After finishing the entire can, the hunger subsided slightly.

It was a relief, but the lingering sense of unease never completely left me.

A lingering uneasiness remained in my chest, a fear that something might go wrong after eating the soup.

I threw the empty can far away and started walking again.

With my stomach full, I felt somewhat stronger, but I still couldn’t see a way out of this place.

Uncertainty loomed over me as I continued exploring Level 1, not knowing what awaited me ahead.

Then, it happened.

“Hey Nongsippi .What are you doing there? Did you Lost the road?”

“…Huh?”

A strange voice echoed, speaking in an oddly familiar tone.

For some reason, it was a woman’s voice.

February 1, 2025

Day 1 in Level 1.

Hello, diary.

I survived! I escaped from the tent.

I tried to sneak out through the back entrance quietly, but they had already noticed me.

What followed was a massive chase.

Ah, the faces of those women… they were nothing like their kind and welcoming expressions at first.

Their features had twisted into something filled with madness.

I sacrificed my coat and ran with all my might.

In the end, I reached the warehouse, slammed the door shut, and managed to lose them.

I lost my coat, but at least I was alive.

After that, I wandered through Level 1, walking through what looked like an endless parking lot.

For hours, I saw no end, and the hunger grew worse.

I had no choice but to take out the canned tomato soup they had given me.

I hesitated, remembering the warning on the note, but I couldn’t endure the hunger any longer.

In the end, I ate it.

Thankfully, it wasn’t poisoned, and I managed to fill my stomach.

After eating, I resumed walking.

That’s when I heard it—an oddly familiar yet strange voice.

It sounded like… a famous meme.

Yeah, like a “GigaChad” kind of tone.
