Chapter 40: A Quiet Day

After school, a child who lingered around until the other children disappeared secretly enters the orphanage late at night.

Not only did she not want to be found out by her school friends that she lived in a facility, but she also hated being in the orphanage in the first place.

That’s why Seo Hyerin, who had just become a 6th grader in elementary school, tried to go back as late as possible, such as playing with friends until late.

Even that, as the older children started going to cram schools, she often spent time alone in parks or playgrounds.

‘What is this?’

I’m tired of it.

It’s boring.

It’s annoying.

‘Why are they all like this these days?’

My classmates, even the older girls at the orphanage, are all the same.

Something has changed the atmosphere.

When I looked for the cause of their change, it all started with one person.

‘That Seo Sua…. Everyone changed after she became strange.’

A small, insignificant kid.

After she changed her atmosphere, Yebin changed after she left the orphanage.

She still got angry and cursed, but every time she did, she sighed and started helping the adults.

It seemed more important to find work to do than to play with us.

Still, I’ve seen many older brothers and sisters change when they become middle school students, so it was understandable.

Now that I’m in 6th grade, I’ll be in charge of elementary school.

So, as always, on the first day of school, I tried to set the mood of the class by having the boys do it, but….

‘It was all ruined because of that Heo Jintae.’

A guy who I don’t know where he came from completely reversed the atmosphere.

Suddenly, he shielded that girl, and he persuaded all the children in the class to make them his subordinates.

The boys who had listened to me since 3rd grade were swayed by Heo Jintae and just kicked the ball around every day.

The stupid girls who can’t help but look at handsome boys are just watching what Heo Jintae is doing.

Somehow, Heo Jintae was guarding that girl, so I gathered the kids who were jealous of it and told them to play a prank on her, but I was told to do such a childish prank myself.

The kids who used to hang out with me at the orphanage were all in different classes and were playing among themselves.

There’s no one on my side.

If this goes on, it’s like….

‘It’s like I’ve become that girl…!’

An unbelievable fact objectively approached her.

This can’t be.

If this goes on, the fact that I live in an orphanage will be revealed.

If that happens, I’ll be no different from Seo Sua.

‘What do I do? What should I do?’

But no method comes to mind.

The classmates have already turned their backs on me.

No matter what I do now, it’s obvious that they won’t pay attention to me.

No matter how much I think about it, I don’t know.

What should I do?

‘Ah, if I do that….’

I remembered.

A way to get revenge on Seo Sua and return to normal.

“Then I’ll be going, so keep the house safe. If there’s any danger, call me right away.”

“Okay. Did you pack your passport?”

“How many times have I gone on overseas trips and not pack…ed my passport.”

“What are you packing when it’s in my hand? Here.”

“Thank you. Then, I’m really going. Eat well.”

The mister pulls the carrier and goes outside and closes the door.

As soon as the door lock sound is heard, the house became quiet in an instant.

I woke up early in the morning to see the mister off, so I rubbed my sleepy eyes and yawned loudly.

‘The PD himself goes on a field trip…. He’s really passionate.’

The program that the mister will direct next is a kind of healing travel program.

A program where big names in the acting world gather and go backpacking.

This is already the fourth series.

‘Did he say he was going to Eastern Europe this time? I should ask him to buy me some chocolate.’

I feel like I’m addicted to chocolate because I keep drinking cocoa instead of coffee.

I didn’t like sweets that much before. Is this because I’m young, or is it because my gender has changed?

Anyway, since I woke up early and have time, I sat in front of the computer to do some simple editing.

I also sipped a cup of coffee to drive away the fatigue.

As the computer boots up and the screen turns on, various programs automatically start.

Among them, I saw someone who was online on Discord, which was turned on the latest.

And somehow, I sent a chat with a feeling of delight.

[Me] : What are you doing up at this hour?

After sending the chat and a short time passed.

A chat came to me with a notification.

[Jina] : No sleep, clear game

[Jina] : Still not over

[Jina] : It’s been 18 hours now

[Jina] : 18 hours, damn it

[Jina] : I want to set the game company on fire

Last time, she made a bet with the viewers and lost, and when she opened the negotiating table, she was forced to play a poorly-controlled game with no sleep until she cleared it.

I went into Jina’s broadcast, and she was broadcasting with her avatar’s picture, probably because she didn’t want to show her haggard face.

The voice broadcasting was thin, like a person on the verge of death.

[Me] : Hmm

[Me] : Good luck

That’s all I can say.

I turned on the editing program, wishing her a safe game clear.

I brought in Osorin’s last broadcast and was doing a simple cut edit when the wake-up alarm went off on my phone.

So, today too, I dragged my reluctant body to get ready and headed to school.

School classes are quite boring.

It’s because I already know all the content, and because it’s child-friendly education and explanations, it feels like a TV animation channel reading children’s stories to me.

However, since I’m in the seat right in front of the lectern, I can’t sleep, so I just spend my days thinking about the content of the broadcast or what to do with the virtual YouTube.

Then, every break, Heo Jintae comes to my seat and talks to me.

“Not today either?”

“No.”

“Then, can’t I go see the PD?”

“My uncle went on a field trip abroad, so he’s not even home.”

“Field trip abroad?”

“Yes, it’s Eastern Europe this time. It’ll take a week.”

“Wow, I’m jealous.”

I didn’t bother to ask whether he was jealous of the trip or the filming work.

If I respond to everything he says, I’ll be bothered all day, so I have to respond appropriately.

Besides, if I don’t, the gazes of the girls around me might turn into lasers.

The school bell rings and the 40-minute class ends again.

The homeroom teacher said to the children who were closing their textbooks.

“Today, the weather is warm and the air is good, so instead of the auditorium, those who want to change clothes can change and come out to the playground~”

Next is physical education class.

It could be said that it is almost the only subject that energetic elementary school children like.

Especially on days when classes are held on the playground instead of the auditorium, free time is usually given, so the boys cheer because they play soccer.

Some girls also play dodgeball or practice TikTok dances, so there were children who were active.

But it was not uncommon to see children just sitting and talking.

And I was also quietly watching the boys play soccer in the shade of a tree where the sun didn’t shine.

There are no girls who want to talk to me.

But this, isn’t it similar to being ostracized, if not bullied?

It doesn’t matter much.

‘I want to go home early….’

While I was thinking about that and blankly spending time, I felt the urge to urinate, perhaps because of the coffee I drank in the morning.

I approached the teacher who was supervising the children, told him, and went into the school building and entered the staff restroom on the first floor.

Now I naturally open the door of the women’s restroom and go into the toilet stall, but I remember being scolded a lot by the orphanage teacher when I entered the men’s restroom a few times out of habit.

‘The staff restroom is good. There’s a bidet.’

After becoming a woman’s body, I often used the bidet because the aftercare felt a little uncomfortable.

Also, maybe because my skin became thinner, I became very sensitive to cold things, so I liked the bidet that I could sit on warmly.

As I was finishing up and washing my hands, I felt a sense of shame.

“I’m completely a woman now, damn it.”

Should I say it’s the pride of when I was a man?

I feel like those things are gradually disappearing.

Well, what can I do?

I’ve already accepted this body.

There’s nothing I can do anymore, so I just live.

I was about to go back to the playground, thinking about that.

I saw someone familiar going upstairs in the distance.

‘That’s…, Seo Hyerin?’

A child who lives in the same orphanage and has become a classmate.

And the child who bullied me the most in front of me with Seo Yebin until a few months ago.

At the beginning of the semester, she tried to instigate the boys to bully me, but after that failed, she didn’t bother me and was quiet, so I didn’t say anything and was living.

Seo Yebin has come to her senses, so I think Seo Hyerin, who followed her well, has matured a little.

“Well, as long as she doesn’t bother me. It’s best to live quietly.”

But where is she going upstairs?

The restroom and the infirmary are on the first floor.

‘Did she leave something in the classroom?’

I guess something’s up.

I didn’t think deeply and headed back to the playground.

“Huh? My wallet is gone!”

“Mine is gone too?!”

“Where did my favorite doll go!”

“Uwaaah, my photo card!”

After the physical education class was over and we entered the classroom, a commotion arose in an instant.

The children’s wallets or precious items were all gone.

In that confusion, Seo Hyerin walked to the center of the classroom.

“I saw Seo Sua going down from upstairs earlier when I was going to the infirmary!”

And she strode towards me and grabbed the bag hanging on my seat and turned it over.

Then, several wallets, dolls, pens, and photo cards poured out from it.

“Look at this! She stole it!”

All the children who saw that.

Whoosh, heavy gazes are directed at me.

“Huh.”

I let out a chuckle.

Yeah, so you’re going to do this?
