Chapter 0: Prologue

Hi Dear Reader, Admin is Here 👋Great news! 🎉 Our Pies Shop is now available. You can easily purchase Gems 💎 through it — please use it to support the site and unlock chapters!

Where is the most heartless world you can imagine?

It’s in novels and manga. Especially those that blend fantasy and romantic comedy.

Don’t understand what I’m saying?

Let me explain.

…Or not. Screw it, I don’t even want to explain.

“This author!”

The web novel I’m currently reading is titled Heroine Wars. It’s a typical fantasy romantic comedy you find on most web novel sites, told in short episodic arcs.

Each episode introduces two heroines, forcing the male protagonist to choose between them.

Admittedly, it’s a niche novel. I’m probably the only one who consistently comments. But the unique format and the charming heroines kept me reading, like it was my own personal guilty pleasure.

But why am I so angry?

The reason is simple.

From the very first episode, The Villain and the Saint, all the way to the nearly completed The Demon Lord and the Goddess, not a single heroine I rooted for has won.

Not. A. Single. One. They never achieve love.

What’s worse, unlike other romantic comedies where the losing heroines at least find happiness with someone else, here, they’re sealed away, abandoned, falsely accused of witchcraft and executed. In one episode, the male lead even turned his back on them completely.

Those

No, wait. They’re not the problem. It’s the author who’s to blame.

I can’t take it anymore. This is the final episode, and it needs a proper ending. At the very least, the abandoned heroines deserve an epilogue, a single sentence stating they found happiness.

Okay, calm down. Be polite.

[Author, I have a small request. Could you write an epilogue for the losing heroines, or even just a single line hinting at their happy ending? I’d be eternally grateful.]

Basically: “Make them happy!”

After an hour, a notification pings.

[Thank you so much for your kind words! I was actually considering a new story about the losing heroines. I never thought anyone would want that!]

Oh? This is good news. He wouldn’t just abandon such compelling characters. The author’s positive response eased my anger.

[I didn’t expect a new story! Thank you so much! I’ll definitely read it!!]

[Oh, it’s nothing. I’m more grateful that you read my work to the end. Thank you so much, Jin Jaehan!]

“…Wait. Did I set my username to my real name?”

[Author? How do you know my name—]

Dizziness washes over me before I can finish typing. I collapse.

When I open my eyes, I’m greeted by the sight of Horizon, the holy nation protected by the goddess Astraea, a place I’ve only seen in the illustrations of Heroine Wars.

“Is this a dream?”
