Dragons are cool.
Two huge wings.
Claws that seem to tear everything apart.
Fierce eyes and a face that would make even a devil tremble in fear.
And a breath that burns everything.
For humans, along with robots and dinosaurs, they are a symbol of romance.
In contrast, Eastern Dragons have a relatively ambiguous aura.
This does not mean that Eastern Dragons are inferior to Western Dragons in many ways.
Eastern Dragons have been revered in the East since ancient times.
They controlled nature, brought rain, and helped people with agriculture.
Of course, some rogue dragons have harmed people or ruined the year’s harvest, but overall, they were considered very spiritual animals.
They were even deified, such as the Dragon God and Dragon King.
So, what I’m trying to say is that the strength of Eastern Dragons is less emphasized than that of Western Dragons.
In the West, Dragons were considered destructive beings that needed to be eradicated.
That’s why knights ran around, and Dragon Slayers were created.
In contrast, Eastern Dragons are good creatures that bring “rain.”
What if the year’s harvest is ruined by drought and the whole family is about to die, but suddenly the Dragon God sends rain?
Even if the villagers were possessed by the Incas and offered human sacrifices that day, it wouldn’t be enough to repay such a blessing.
As a result, in many works, Western Dragons have built up an image of being destructive and powerful, while Eastern Dragons have an image of being wise and calm.
And I actually like Eastern Dragons more than Western Dragons.
It was a month ago, when I was having a heated debate about tigers vs. lions with my friends at a bar, that I had the thought, “Dragons are cool.”
Things are different now.
I only love Eastern Dragons, and Eastern Dragons are the supreme beings, the only ones in heaven and earth.
I believe this.
I have to believe this.
Otherwise, I don’t think I can accept my current situation.
I was an ordinary 26-year-old man in South Korea.
My name is Seong Yuchung.
But the scene before me was not the towering skyscrapers of South Korea.
Instead, a lush forest, like a quiet countryside in Europe, filled my vision.
And at the edge of the forest, where it met a large plain, there was a village.
It was a large village with about 300 households, all with unified roof colors.
The villagers, seen through my abnormally enhanced vision, had features that combined “Western” and “Otaku” looks.
It felt like a 2D illustrator’s character rendered in 3D.
But that’s not important.
Today, the world is more interconnected, and many foreigners have come to Korea.
Therefore, foreign villages can certainly exist.
The fact that they don’t use modern goods, but rather use clumsy items fresh from the blacksmith’s shop or light fires, can be considered a concept.
But… the problem is me.
As I said before, I am watching them secretly.
Through my developed vision, I can observe them from quite a distance.
But the important thing is that the place where I’m watching them… is in the sky.
Yes, the sky.
The SKY.
Heaven.
I’m flying.
I’m not on a plane, nor am I parachuting or paragliding.
Only by my will, I am floating in the air, waving my long body.
[Sigh…]
A month.
I think I have to admit it now.
Actually, I had accepted it in my head, but my heart couldn’t accept it.
Yes, I fell into this fantasy world.
But not as a human—rather, in the form of an Eastern Dragon.
