Zixueta headed straight for the tables numbered 1, 3, and 5, where people gathered.

Why not listen to others’ opinions instead of asking directly?

She approached, with Bai Mingliu following.

The nobles here were demons, distinct in appearance and clothing from those Zixueta had seen before.

Demon nobles had horns, often adorned with accessories.

Some had purple skin, others gray, depending on their region.

Zixueta could tell their origins by their clothes.

Purple-skinned demon nobles lived in the northern demon territory.

That area had intense moonlight, humid air, and cold climate, so they wore long sleeves and pants.

Gray-skinned nobles came from the Sky Domain.

Half of the demon territory covered aerial streets and sky platforms.

Sky platforms floated in the air.

Despite not flying, some demons lived there.

That region’s demons, noble or common, were wealthy, affording expensive flying devices.

Zixueta knew this from books.

She saw three or four demon nobles using info screens.

As she approached, they noticed her.

They scrutinized Zixueta, partly for her hair color, partly because she looked like a child.

What was a kid doing here?

Zixueta stated her purpose: “Hello, I’m here for some information.”

She showed her medicine.

Many nobles’ eyes widened—they recognized it!

But did they think it was medicine or drugs?

Zixueta frowned: “I’ll ask my questions, then give this to whoever provides the most info. Oh, I also need materials to make more.”

The demon nobles, after hearing her, eyed Bai Mingliu.

Even in disguise, they recognized him.

As demons, how could nobles not know their prince?

They recognized Bai Mingliu but didn’t take him seriously.

One bent down to pat Zixueta’s head: “Ask away. What’s your name?”

Zixueta grabbed his hand firmly: “Zixueta.”

She stopped him from touching her head.

The noble stood, saying: “I’ll share info, but show me what you’ve got first.”

She opened the medicine bottle for them to see, then closed it quickly.

“You can talk now. I want to know about the palace chef. When did he arrive? Why do demon nobles get better treatment than blood nobles in his court? Where are the blood princes?”

She knew where the blood princes were but wanted to see if they did.

The demon nobles thought for a moment.

One answered: “He showed up after his friend betrayed Ghost Pupil. We’re guests of the king and him. The blood princes? Aren’t they missing?”

Bai Mingliu wanted to say they were at Ghost Pupil’s shop.

But Zixueta’s fierce glare silenced him.

A noble volunteered: “You made this medicine, right? It’s quite popular.”

Zixueta asked: “How can I meet him?”

A noble said: “He only deals with nobles. Many here like your medicine. Word reached him, but he hasn’t reacted. Maybe he’s not interested?”

He added: “He meets those who eat his kitchen dishes, whether they spit or toss them out. If he sees you eat, he trusts you. To meet him, go to City 2. No electronic surveillance there, but there are electronic guards and soldiers.

Go as a noble with an electronic ID for cover—they won’t stop you. I wasn’t a noble; I bought my status. Contact a noble, have them stay home.

Use their electronic ID and a signal jammer to hide the photo. You’re halfway there. You can work with me.”

Zixueta gave him the medicine.

She asked: “Got money? I need materials to make more. Show me your credits. Maybe we can cooperate. Also, you know so much—why not handle this mess yourself?”

She hit the mark.

The noble looked away: “If I could, I would. I can’t make medicine. I just get led around.”

He turned back, pulling his shoulder cloth aside: “See, he put a magic array on me. Remove it, and I’ll get your materials.”

He added: “My friends have them too.”

Zixueta looked but couldn’t see much.

She switched to her Black Beast Eyes.

The nobles flinched in fear: “That’s… Ghost Pupil’s?”

“Magic array…”

Zixueta saw the arrays etched on their shoulders.

Erasing them was no issue for her.

She cast a spell.

A burning, painful sensation hit the nobles’ shoulders.

In thirty seconds, the arrays vanished.

They rejoiced, thinking they could avoid trading with Zixueta.

She asked: “Good enough?”

The noble she’d spoken to turned cold: “Hmph, who are you? Do I know you? Why should I trade with you?”

Zixueta clenched her fist.

The nobles suddenly felt heart pain.

She smiled: “I never thought you’d share info nicely. No more pretending—perfect.”

She opened her hand, and their pain stopped.

The nobles exchanged glances.

Finally, the one who’d promised said: “I’ll get your materials, but don’t tell him I traded with you.”

Zixueta didn’t reply.

She sent him a list.

He saw it and groaned: “This is robbery! No wonder you didn’t negotiate properly—you’re here to rob me.”
