Chahuayuan, a video blogger of modest renown, a prodigious graduate of biochemical, environmental, and materials engineering who had just completed her first year post-graduation, found herself recently plagued by a subtle anxiety.
On one hand, her elder brother, Chajingyuan, seemed to be becoming increasingly useless.
Despite providing him with ample food and drink, he remained dissatisfied, leveraging a depression diagnosis to spend his days engrossed in video games, engaging in online arguments and verbal abuse, and even exhibiting a tendency to take out his frustrations on her.
On the other hand, the primary source of her worry was, in fact, her own affairs.
Having worked as a video blogger for a year, her growth had been somewhat underwhelming.
Her follower count remained mediocre, and her main income didn’t stem from her own videos, but rather from editing commercial projects for other media outlets.
She had considered transitioning into a streamer, a viable path in theory.
However, Chahuayuan had inadvertently pulled off a rather audacious move.
When her appearance was dismissed by an acquaintance in the industry, who remarked, “While you’re cute, there’s nothing particularly distinctive or marketable about you,” Chahuayuan, feeling a sudden pang of apprehension, chose not to argue her point.
Instead, she deftly changed the subject, introducing her colleague to a supposedly “extremely adorable white-haired mixed-race loli” she claimed to know.
Little did she know, this lie quickly spiraled out of control.
Her excited colleague immediately began assembling a team, customizing a plan, commissioning a virtual avatar, devising marketing strategies, and even arranging for a “fortuitous leak of the person behind the avatar.”
By today, everything was in place, awaiting only a meeting with the “little beauty” herself.
Assuming all went well, the debut stream was scheduled for the very next day.
Yet, Chahuayuan knew no such white-haired mixed-race girl.
Throughout their prolonged communication, she had been using a secondary account, role-playing and answering her own questions.
She had relied on an array of technological wizardry and ingenious tricks to maintain the deception: image editing, synthetic environments, machine-learning-generated voices, and more.
Now, however, the elaborate facade she had constructed could no longer be sustained.
There was no other recourse; she would simply have to deploy even more advanced technology and cunning methods.
As mentioned earlier, Chahuayuan was, after all, a prodigious graduate in biochemical, environmental, and materials engineering.
The 21st century belonged to biochemical, environmental, and materials engineering—whether one believed it or not, Chahuayuan certainly did, and she was, without a doubt, a true genius.

“Hmph… Calm down, calm down.”
Chahuayuan rose from her simple wicker swivel chair, taking deep breaths and murmuring words of self-reassurance.
“Xiaohua, oh Xiaohua, trust in your own abilities, trust in your own luck.
This formula, in theory, has no side effects.
As long as it’s consumed by a female, its duration is stable and controllable.
If it proves reliable, everything will be manageable from now on…”
Stepping out of her bedroom door, traversing the narrow corridor, and entering the small space that was ostensibly a “living room” in their two-bedroom apartment—though it barely deserved the name—Chahuayuan opened the refrigerator.
The refrigerator appeared somewhat sparse.
Her brother, it seemed, had once again finished all the cola.
Chahuayuan had been rather busy these past few days and had forgotten to restock for her elder brother.
She wondered if that scoundrel would throw another tantrum.
However, since his room sounded quite quiet today, she decided not to worry about it for now.
She searched for the medicine she had prepared and chilled there since yesterday.
“Hmm? Where’s the medicine??”
It was then that Chahuayuan remembered: the bottle she used for her concoction resembled a beverage bottle.
Moreover, her potion was not only amber-colored but also contained phosphoric acid, giving it a bubbling appearance strikingly similar to a carbonated drink.
Most crucially, due to her overwhelming schedule, she had neglected to label the bottle.
As for her elder brother, as previously mentioned, his temperament was exceptionally poor.
If she forgot to restock his drinks, he would absolutely, unequivocally refuse to go down and buy them himself.
Beyond merely losing his temper and snapping at people, he would, out of spite, consume everything in the refrigerator that wasn’t rightfully his.
“…”
Disaster.
Chahuayuan instantly felt a surge of panic, followed by anger.
The anger, however, was fleeting, quickly giving way to anguish, despair, and even a dizzying rush of images before her eyes.
“It’s over, it’s over, it’s over, it’s over, it’s over, it’s over, it’s over, it’s over—!”

Meanwhile, in the secondary bedroom deep within the house, Chajingyuan was just waking up, groggily rubbing his eyes.
Empty beverage bottles and soda cans formed a precarious, half-human-tall mound in the already cramped corner of the bedroom, prevented from toppling only by the surrounding heap of trash bags.
The bed and the low-slung computer desk were positioned so closely that one could reach for the mouse simply by turning over upon waking.
Clean clothes hung wrinkled on the curtain rod, while, ironically, dirty pajamas lay neatly folded at the head of the bed.
The entire bedroom was permeated by an indescribable, cloyingly sweet, yeasty aroma.
The curtains were drawn tightly shut, leaving the room almost entirely devoid of light.
Incidentally, the only splash of color came from Chajingyuan’s RGB mouse.
His computer case also featured RGB lighting, but its side panel was completely obscured by medicine boxes and takeout bags, rendering it invisible.
“Ugh… my head, my head aches a little.
What’s my younger sister yelling about in the living room?
Always making a fuss over nothing…”
Chajingyuan thought to himself, ‘This younger sister truly has no sense of propriety.
Doesn’t she know I was just disgusted by some cheating jerk, and now I have a headache and a foul mood?’
Having been woken up after barely any sleep, Chajingyuan felt a potent wave of morning grumpiness.
He rolled over and nudged his mouse, intending both to check the time and to see if the “asshole” he had battled for three hundred rounds on the gaming forum yesterday had finally capitulated, or if another round of insults was still necessary.
“Hmm?”
The room was so dark, yet why did the reflection on the black screen appear somewhat pale?
And wasn’t this computer desk rather low? Why did it feel a little higher today?
As the computer screen illuminated, Chajingyuan patted his head, hoping to clear his mind.
With that pat, he noticed his bangs seemed to have grown longer; pulling them before his eyes, he saw they were now—silvery-gold.
“Huh???”
Could the whiteness reflected on the screen just now have been his own?
During his argument with his sister yesterday, he had called her a “reclusive virgin,” while she had retorted that he would soon suffer premature aging and sudden death.
Could her curse possibly have come true?
Moreover, Chajingyuan noticed his voice sounded somewhat soft and delicate.
Chajingyuan instantly felt a surge of irritation, accompanied by a chilling dread and a creeping sense of fear.
Just then, the clatter of a keyring echoed from the corridor as Chahuayuan roughly twisted open the door and strode forcefully inside.
“You rotten elder brother! You good-for-nothing, lazy, good-for-nothing idiot, you poached egg—get up!”
“Rotten your big head, you…”
The sunlight stung Chajingyuan’s eyes, prompting him to block them with an annoyed gesture.
“Don’t you know I’m annoyed?
Yesterday, I was just™ sniped by some cheating orphan, and I’d only slept for a few hours before you started clanging around and bothering me…”
“Nonsense! My monitor clearly shows that your machine has been offline from Wi-Fi for over ten hours!
You’re just disoriented from sleep!
Get up now!”
“Why should I get up…?”
“…Because I said so, now get up!”
Incensed, Chahuayuan seized her brother’s arm, which he had used to shield his eyes, and yanked him from the covers.
It was precisely this sudden yank that left both of them stunned.
In Chajingyuan’s perception, his own strength shouldn’t have been so diminished; his sister couldn’t possibly overpower him.
For Chahuayuan, the reason for her astonishment was even simpler.
“What is that look in your ey—”
Chajingyuan initially wore an even more displeased expression.
Then, in the reflection of his sister’s glasses, he caught sight of an unfamiliar figure—and finally began to grasp what was happening.
He, or rather, she, instinctively reached with their other hand towards their lower abdomen, only to find… emptiness.
At that very moment, suspended by Chahuayuan’s grip on her right arm, teetering on her tiptoes at the edge of the bed, was a silver-haired young girl with hair as lustrous as silver, skin as white as snow, and shoulders and waist as delicate as jade.
Chahuayuan’s expression shifted from initial shock and fury, to helplessness, then softened.
Finally, understanding dawned upon her, and she displayed a look of profound relief.
In stark contrast, Chajingyuan, observing her sister’s rapidly changing expressions, felt an escalating sense of dread, like a lamb destined for slaughter.
Overcome with tearful joy, Chahuayuan embraced her now-loli-fied elder brother.
“This is wonderful… So, so wonderful… You rotten elder brother, I’m finally saved!”
