Chapter 1 : The beginning of everything

I’m Lee Shin-seong, 20 years old
“Yeah, yeah. Oh, mom, I told you I’m fine, I’m doing well, I even became a doctor, why are you worrying~… Uh-huh. Uh-huh! I’ll be home soon. Uh-huh~”
Click.
The call ended.
I’m looking forward to what’s for dinner as I head back home.
Fifteen minutes later.
“I’m home~… Mom?”
The house feels unusually cold today… but I guess it’s nothing to worry about.
I look around, and it seems like my parents aren’t back yet.
(Woong-woong-woong)
My phone vibrates, signaling an incoming call.
Oh, it’s mom.
“Hello~ Mom! Why are you so late~… Mom?”
-…I’m sorry, but may I ask, are you the son of this phone number?
“…Yes, that’s me?”

I’m sorry to say, but… Kim Ok-chun and Lee Ho-seong..

“They have passed away.”
That’s what the doctor told me, calmly, as if delivering the end of a sentence, the verdict.

My parents, while driving across the Han River bridge, were in a car accident due to drowsy driving. The car crashed, falling straight into the Han River.
This happened just one minute after I had called them.
And for three minutes, the submerged car was taken to the depths of the Han River.
Luckily, people found and pulled them out in seven minutes…
Well, being in the water for seven minutes wasn’t the serious issue. They had already died from glass shards flying and piercing their heads completely.
The trial for that trash? Huh. It turns out he’s the son of a chairman from a conglomerate with power that rivals that of Samsung. How could such a dramatic event happen? Haha.
I posted a picture of the Han River on the blog I used to write, saying that I would die. In this place where there’s no friends, no family, no fun, is there a reason to live? Also, making this public through death is a surer way to drag that trash into the light.
Of course, countless comments were left on my blog telling me not to die. But what can I do? Those who have lived because of such things are not ready to die.
I fell headfirst from the railing of the Han River bridge to die instantly.

“Splash!”
I felt pain as if I had headbutted a hard concrete floor from a high place. The cold water felt like it was seeping into my bones.
‘It hurts, I don’t like it………but, I like it.’
Even as I faced death, I smiled. Was it because I wanted death? Strangely, I couldn’t feel any pain. I could breathe easily… What?
“Where is this…”
“This isn’t what people usually call heaven, and it’s not hell either. This is my space.”
Appearing before me was a very ordinary-looking man, but because he was so ordinary, he had a strangely powerful aura.
“Who are you…”
“Ah, I’m a dimension writer who creates novels called ‘Extra in a Novel’.”
I met him.
