Chapter 1: The Junior Sister who infiltrated the Sword Sect

It had been half a year since Su Li’er was reincarnated.

In front of the bathroom mirror, she stared blankly at the top of her own head, where a line of large words appeared.

—Remaining Lifespan: 3 days.

This is not a joke.

She is going to die.

As a nine-tailed fox, her fate was exceptionally unique, cursed by the Heavenly Dao with a limited lifespan.

Therefore, she could only rely on the special constitution of a nine-tailed fox, absorbing Yin energy to extend her life.

In other words, she had to absorb the alluring energy produced by girls.

In order to survive, Su Li’er had to get close and affectionate with girls, causing them to emit that charm, thereby converting it into lifespan and staying alive!

This process was incredibly difficult.

When she was reincarnated, her spawn point came with the general store she ran in her past life, and it even included a newbie protection mechanism.

—Simply put, as long as she stayed in the general store, she possessed combat power comparable to the Heavenly Dao, making her arguably the number one person under the heavens!

Thus, Su Li’er came up with a plan: use the built-in cheat code that came with her spawn point to help people with commissions, like healing, assassinations, or breaking through cultivation bottlenecks. Or she could just sell things from her past life’s general store… with her cheat code, anything was possible!

As for payment… she would collect their alluring energy!

Su Li’er went around posting flyers all over the alleys: Wishing General Store, all your wishes will come true as long as you come, limited to beautiful girls only!

Or she would spread mysterious stories about the Wishing General Store in the small villages nearby.

But… an entire month passed, and she barely saw any customers.

The few times a customer did show up, they were old men who farmed nearby.

And so, Su Li’er fell into despair…

In this remote and unfamiliar village, one could go days without seeing a single soul; it was desolate to the extreme. What good was her built-in cheat code that came with her spawn point supposed to do?

In order to survive.

Su Li’er had to find another way, to take the initiative!

She disguised herself as a human and found a way to infiltrate a sect, searching for any possible targets to get close to within its walls.

Nearby, only the Sword Sect had the simplest admission requirements: no identity check, no physical examination, and no fees!

So Su Li’er chose to infiltrate the Sword Sect.

But when she entered the Sword Sect, she discovered that the entire sect… had only one Sect Master, and not a single disciple!

This Sword Sect was a bit desolate.

For Su Li’er, who was in an unfamiliar place, the Sword Sect’s ridiculously simple admission requirements were her only option. With no background check or physical examination, she could only lie low there…

Besides, in an environment with no interruptions, the one-on-one success rate would be even higher!

‘Hmph, hmph, my target: the Sect Master who suffers from frequent insomnia due to a Great Dao injury—Song Ruoxue!’

***

Su Li’er washed her face, pulled herself together, and checked her appearance in the mirror. Very good, the disguise was a success.

Her tail and ears were tucked away, and her face had the common baby fat of a human, showing no trace of a fox spirit’s enchanting air.

Then she encouraged herself: : “Little Li, oh, Little Li, now you have to deliver medicine to that icy-cold Sect Master. Do your best—melt her heart!”

She smoothed out her messy hair.

Full of hope, she walked out of the bathroom.

Following the small path, she strolled to the kitchen, picked up the brewed herbal medicine, and walked cautiously towards the wooden house behind the mountain.

The deeper she went, the more tranquil it became.

Arriving at the luxurious wooden house, Su Li’er called out softly, “Sect Master, the medicine is ready.”

After a short while, a reply came from within the house: “The door is unlocked.”

“Okay.” Su Li’er skillfully kicked open the door with her toes.

—Creak.

The bedroom was bathed in a gentle light, the flames in the fireplace flickering.

On the other side of the bed, Song Ruoxue sat leaning back, holding a book with its cover peeled off. Her legs were crossed, long and straight, and the size of her body in front of her was unbelievable.

Her features were picturesque, her eyes clear and cold, her face expressionless.

“Sect Master.” Su Li’er placed the bowl gently on the bedside table.

“Thank you, Little Li.” Song Ruoxue responded softly, her focus still on the book.

‘So cold.’

‘Still the same as before…’

Su Li’er shivered, feeling as if she had walked into an ice cellar. She stood rooted to the spot, somewhat conflicted about whether she should stay.

“If the Sect Master can get better sooner, the Sword Sect can also be revived sooner,” Su Li’er said.

“Indeed.” Song Ruoxue closed the book and turned her head, her calm and profound eyes hiding her thoughts.

Su Li’er detected a hint of sadness.

So, she quickly said, “Sect Master’s injury can definitely be healed!”

“The root cause is an internal injury, it cannot be cured,” Song Ruoxue said softly.

“Is that so…” Su Li’er’s head drooped, feeling a little helpless.

“Little Li, if you hadn’t been brewing medicine for me all this time, I wouldn’t have survived until now.” A fleeting smile appeared on Song Ruoxue’s cold face.

Su Li’er was stunned for a moment and rubbed her eyes. She hadn’t seen wrong, had she!

That big ice block actually smiled?

Finally! Her efforts to win her over for more than two months were finally showing some effect!

“Wuuu, Sect Master, you have to get better!” Su Li’er choked up. ‘If you don’t get better soon, I’m going to die! I only have three days left to live!’

Song Ruoxue was taken aback. “Don’t cry.”

“Ah, wuuuuuu!” Su Li’er cried even harder.

Song Ruoxue reached out a hand, hesitating several times, at a loss. “Little Li, stop crying.”

Su Li’er rubbed her eyes.

The room was silent for a while.

Only then did Song Ruoxue say calmly, “I’m preparing to seek out Esoteric Arts, to give it a try.”

“Esoteric Arts?” Su Li’er was confused, then suddenly said, “I want to go with you, Sect Master!”

“Little Li, you…” Song Ruoxue looked her up and down, her gaze landing on Su Li’er’s pure and pretty face. “You might meet the requirements, but that place is too remote and very dangerous. It’s better if you don’t go.”

Su Li’er blankly touched her soft cheek.

‘Meet the requirements? What does that mean?’

‘Remote, what’s that about?’

‘Whatever, I’m not going to worry about it!’

“Sect Master, even if there’s danger, Little Li isn’t afraid!” Su Li’er patted her chest.

“No.” Song Ruoxue closed her eyes slightly and reached out a delicate hand.

Su Li’er only felt her head being rubbed back and forth, her whole body swaying.

“Sec… Sect Master? I-I-I’m so dizzy.”

“Pfft.” Song Ruoxue let out a soft laugh and withdrew her hand.

When Su Li’er looked over, the big ice block had returned to her usual coldness, with no trace of emotional fluctuation.

‘Honestly!’

‘This big ice block is so hard to win over!’

Su Li’er lowered her head slightly.

If she didn’t get a chance today… then there were only two days left.

“Sect Master!”

“Hm.”

“Tomorrow… shall we go for a walk together?” Su Li’er nervously picked at her nails. Heavens, in her past life, she had never actively invited a girl on a date…

“Why?” Song Ruoxue was puzzled.

“I just want to… go for a walk. If you don’t want to, Sect Master, it’s okay too.” Su Li’er buried her head lower, her voice growing smaller and smaller.

“Alright,” Song Ruoxue said.

“The Sect Master agreed?” Su Li’er couldn’t quite believe it.

“Of course,” Song Ruoxue nodded.

“Yay~” Su Li’er cheered with delight.

“I need to leave for a bit.” Song Ruoxue was about to get out of bed. “Little Li, you shouldn’t stay in the Sword Sect tonight.”

“Is the Sect Master going to look for the Esoteric Arts?” Su Li’er asked.

Song Ruoxue nodded.

“Okay, then I’ll go back home for a visit.” Su Li’er’s mood improved considerably. At least there was hope for tomorrow!

“It’s getting dark. Should I see you off?” Song Ruoxue asked with concern.

Su Li’er was startled and waved her hands. “No, no, it’s very close. I can go by myself!”

‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’

‘If I let you follow me…’

‘And you find out that I’m the nine-tailed fox owner of that remote general store, who just wants to get close to pretty girls, what am I supposed to do?’
