Chapter 10: The New ‘Servant’ and a Vengeful Plot

Hm… hm?!

Luo Jia instinctively recoiled two steps, watching the twin-tailed ‘little fox’ approach him with a mischievous grin.

‘No, no, no, what is this situation? Just moments ago, this vile woman was cooing “darling” at her own fiancé. How could she, the moment the door closed, turn around and just… just…?’

The white-haired youth suspected he was about to be devoured!

Evidently, the young Demon King was still rather naive. Just as Allyrose had steadily forced him back towards the sofa, the twin-tailed maiden executed a swift flip, then collapsed onto her own couch.

The girl then stretched out her limbs languidly, like a kitten, enjoying a comfortable full-body stretch that even exposed a sliver of her midriff.

“Ah, this feels amazing! Damn it, I finally got that off my chest! You, white-haired boy, go prepare a couple of dishes to go with drinks! We absolutely must celebrate properly today!”

Having finally delivered her first blow against Vivian and her companions, Allyrose was utterly ecstatic, radiating both relaxation and joy.

However, Luo Jia was utterly bewildered by Allyrose. Watching him blink in stunned confusion, Allyrose narrowed her eyes playfully, then curved her lips into a mischievous smile.

“What’s wrong, white-haired boy? Didn’t you hear your master speak? Pfft~ Or perhaps, you’re a little surprised that I’m just asking you to cook… and not something else entirely~?”

Allyrose watched Luo Jia’s face gradually flush with a wicked grin, then pressed her hands against her own cheeks, giggling.

“Eww~ How perverted~”

‘You’re the one overthinking it, hey—! You’re the one overthinking it!’

Luo Jia’s lips twitched involuntarily once more as he observed Allyrose’s deliberately disgusted expression.

‘Ugh…’

‘Even if, for a fleeting moment just now, some unsavory thoughts *did* cross my mind…’

‘That was entirely caused by *you*, this vile woman, deliberately saying things that easily lead to misinterpretation!’

‘I absolutely should not bear any responsibility. No, absolutely not!’

Still, after a brief moment, Luo Jia managed to rein in his urge to harshly rebuke Allyrose, because…

How to put it? He was, after all, currently in a state of being “kept” by her. As the saying goes, one must bow their head when under another’s roof. If he were to argue with this little fox every day and eventually make her cry, it wouldn’t be appropriate.

Thus, after a moment, in the spirit of a gentleman who doesn’t contend with women, Luo Jia waved a hand and declared:

“I… I don’t know how to cook…”

“Eh?”

****

Upon hearing his words, Allyrose instantly froze, her eyes momentarily widening with immense despair!

‘Hey, hey, there’s no need to be so dramatic!’

Luo Jia’s lips twitched slightly again. But wasn’t this perfectly normal? It wasn’t shameful for a man not to know how to cook, was it?

Especially since he was a Demon King!

What kind of Demon King cooked their own meals?! If a Demon King still had to cook, wouldn’t they be a Demon King in vain?

Although Allyrose didn’t know he was the Demon King, there was no need to act as if it were the end of the world!

“Wuu~”

After a moment, the twin-tailed ‘little fox’ rose, tears welling in her eyes, and squatted on the sofa, pleading pitifully with Luo Jia:

“White-haired boy, you can’t say that! You heard it, didn’t you? Ever since I was stripped of my Saintess title, the Holy See withdrew all the nuns who used to attend to me. Now, besides you, I don’t have a single servant! If you can’t cook, we’ll both starve to death, wuu~”

“No… that’s not…”

Luo Jia tilted his head, asking with a hint of exasperation, “Um… Allyrose, can’t you just hire another chef, someone specifically for cooking?”

“Hm? But then I’d have to spend money~” Allyrose pouted.

‘…’

‘Huh?!’

‘So, you’re planning on using just *me* for everything?!’

Luo Jia’s lips twitched a few more times. Of course, the Demon King clearly hadn’t grasped Allyrose’s meticulous planning; the black-haired, twin-tailed maiden’s calculations were, in fact, all for the Demon Army!

*Cough, cough*. After all, she still had to sponsor the Demon Army and complete the ‘Support the Enemy System’ tasks. Therefore, when it came to money, she had to be frugal. Moreover, she was no longer a Saintess, so she didn’t have as much temple money; she was practically living off her savings every day.

“But the Holy See withdrew the nuns quite some time ago, didn’t they? So… Allyrose, how have you been eating all this time? And for household chores, have you truly not considered hiring a staff of servants?”

“Uh… about that…”

Facing the silver-haired youth’s questioning, Allyrose sheepishly scratched the back of her head, then admitted:

“Meals… I’ve just been having restaurants deliver them. As for chores, hehe… actually, I’ve already got about a dozen messy rooms piled up… just waiting for you to clean them~”

‘…’

‘Run! I absolutely must run!’

The Demon King couldn’t help but gasp, a sharp intake of breath—*hiss*—

‘No… no, this Allyrose isn’t here to keep a pretty boy; she’s here to recruit a s*ave—!’

****

In stark contrast to the harmonious atmosphere at Allyrose’s home, Vivian, who had slunk away from the castle and returned to the Holy See, now seethed with rage as she lifted a vase and violently smashed it to the floor.

With a resounding “CRASH—!”, porcelain shards scattered across the ground. Jennelle, who had been guarding Allyrose, immediately dropped to her knees with a thud, then pleaded repeatedly beside Vivian:

“Lady Vivian, it’s all my fault, please forgive me, please forgive me…”

“Tsk…”

Vivian cast a cold glance at Jennelle, then silently turned her head away, completely ignoring her pleas. She deliberately let Jennelle continue begging, as if… only by doing so could she slightly vent the resentment that had accumulated throughout the day.

There was nothing else she could do. After all, she had always maintained an innocent, adorable, and kind facade in front of others. Even today, before Allyrose, despite the other’s aggressive demeanor, Vivian hadn’t dared to offer any verbal retaliation.

Even though Vivian was furious that her plans had fallen through, she still had to feign a friendly attitude.

‘Allyrose…’

‘That cursed wretch!’

As these thoughts consumed her, Vivian involuntarily gritted her teeth.

‘Why, why?! That house should have been mine! Such a lavishly decorated castle, clearly a residence only a Saintess was worthy of enjoying…’

‘Why did that Allyrose dare to deny it to me?!’

Intense jealousy festered within Vivian’s heart until, finally, she let out a cold laugh. She then turned her head to look at Jennelle, revealing a smile that sent shivers down Jennelle’s spine.

“It’s alright, Jennelle. Get up. Don’t worry… sooner or later, I will live in that house. Oh… right, hmph, speaking of which, tomorrow seems to be enrollment day, isn’t it? Has His Grace the Bishop spoken? Everything… will proceed according to plan, won’t it?!”

“Yes!”
