More monsters rushed in from the distance.
Their numbers grew, and the number of monsters the two had killed was less than a third of the total.
“Why are there more and more of them?” Rachel said, her face showing impatience.
“They’re like cockroaches, you can’t kill them all.”
A monster leaped down from the second floor, tensed its body, and then sprang up, using the ground as a springboard to jump at Yuhui, who had his back to it.
“Watch out!”
Rachel intercepted it in mid-air with a sacrifice kick, using the force of its lunge to inflict greater damage, achieving a perfect counter.
Yuhui turned, raising his hand over his head.
The muzzle of his gun fell towards Rachel’s direction, and he fired without hesitation.
The bullet passed by Rachel, hit the monster’s chest, and went through its body, tearing a large, bloody hole in its back.
“Back to back!” Rachel shouted to Yuhui.
“Don’t get caught off guard!”
The two of them fought their way out of the encirclement and gathered together, their backs pressed tightly against each other, watching each other’s six.
“Any plan?” Rachel asked.
“Get inside,” Yuhui replied.
“Our target is Blake Morton. Find him, stop him, and this will all be over.”
“Take down Blake Morton while surrounded by all these sharp-toothed, sharp-clawed snot monsters? I think that’s a bit unrealistic. Is there any other way besides that?”
“No.”
“Fine, then let’s charge in?” Rachel asked.
“Charge in,” Yuhui replied affirmatively.
“Go in. I’ll cover your back. I’ll take the first floor, you go upstairs.”
The monsters gathered together, concentrating their forces, fearless of casualties, just wanting to get to the two of them as quickly as possible, to trample them into pulp and tear them to shreds.
“Alright, it’s decided,” Rachel said.
“Get down!”
Yuhui immediately dropped to one knee, assuming a kneeling firing position and continuing to fire.
Rachel’s right palm condensed black ice, which formed into a 10-meter-long black ice blade in her hand.
Rachel held the ice blade effortlessly, or rather, she didn’t need to use any strength at all.
The black ice moved with her will, floating in the air like an AI.
Rachel’s body drove her right arm in a forceful swing, and she spun around on the spot.
In the blink of an eye, the ice blade, with her and Yuhui as its center, made a lightning-fast circular motion.
Blood splattered everywhere.
All the monsters in a large area around them were cut in half at the waist by the ice blade at almost the same instant, turning into two clumps of worthless dead meat.
In an instant, intestines, bones, flesh, and blood flew everywhere, soiling Rachel’s pretty face and their clothes.
Rachel rushed to the villa entrance ten meters away.
A monster stood in front of her.
Rachel lifted it up with one hand, broke its neck with the other, and then threw its corpse onto the roof of the three-story villa.
“Hurry up!” she shouted.
Yuhui quickly arrived at the villa entrance.
Rachel kicked the door open and entered the villa.
Yuhui stood at the entrance, holding his guns, and fired more than ten shots at the monsters outside, killing an equal number of them.
He put away his left gun, and from somewhere, he took out a grenade.
He held it in his left hand, bit the pin with his teeth, pulled out the safety pin, and threw the grenade into the sea of monsters.
Then he also entered the villa and closed the door.
“Boom!”
With an explosion, a large amount of flesh and blood splattered onto the door, the windowpanes, and even the second-floor balcony.
“You brought grenades?” Rachel asked, panting.
“Hh… hh… what other equipment… did you bring?”
“There’s a Thompson submachine gun in the trunk of the car,” Yuhui said calmly, his breathing steady.
After all, he didn’t fight in close combat.
“But…”
“But now we’re inside the house, and you can’t get it out,” Rachel interrupted him.
“I’m asking about what you have on you. Do you have any other trump cards? Other weapons or something?”
Yuhui’s gaze kept sweeping around, observing carefully.
The environment here didn’t allow him to relax his guard.
Although the monsters inside the house had also jumped out with their kind from the garden, there might still be some inside.
It would only take a few seconds for the monsters outside to get in.
“I have a switchblade in my pocket. Does that count?” Yuhui said, releasing the magazine from his pistol.
The magazine fell onto the mahogany floor with a “clang.”
“Are you joking? You’re joking, right? Hey!” Rachel was shocked.
She suspected that he was joking with her to liven up the atmosphere, but his expression was so serious that she couldn’t tell if Yuhui was really joking.
Yuhui replaced the empty magazine with a new one full of bullets and said, “I have one more grenade.”
The sound of shattering glass interrupted them.
The glass curtain wall on the east side of the first floor was shattered by the monsters.
The door that Yuhui had closed earlier flew into the room, passed between the two of them, and hit the wall with a “thud.”
“Go upstairs quickly! I’ll take the first floor. I’ll come find you after I’m done,” Yuhui said, closing the slide of his pistol and continuing to aim and shoot.
“There are so many monsters. Can you handle them?” Rachel shouted from the stairs.
A monster rushed at Yuhui, its mouth wide open.
“It’ll take some time,” Yuhui said, aiming his gun at its mouth and blowing its head off with one shot.
Rachel wasted no more words and ran up the stairs to the second floor.
In a room on the second floor of the villa, Blake stood next to a full-length mirror.
He waved his hand over the mirror.
The surface of the mirror rippled, as if throwing a stone into a lake.
Blake watched his figure disappear into the mirror, replaced by a scene from another place: the garden outside.
It showed the scene of the two of them fighting his monsters.
The beautiful blue-haired woman did something, and the monsters around her were all frozen into ice sculptures.
The scene in the mirror changed.
Blake saw the blue-haired beauty and Yuhui gather together, back to back, and say a few words.
As for what they said, he couldn’t hear anything because the perspective was too far away.
Then, he saw Yuhui kneel on one knee, and a very long black giant blade emerged from the blue-haired beauty’s palm.
She spun around on the spot.
In an instant, the surrounding monsters were cut in half at the waist.
“Lowering the temperature and controlling ice, a black blade,” Blake said, pinching his chin and muttering to himself.
“It feels a bit familiar. This should be a psionic ability, right?”
The scene in the mirror changed again.
The garden was filled with the corpses of the monsters he had brought earlier.
Blood and gore were everywhere, forming a small stream as it was washed away by the rain.
The two of them had already rushed into the villa.
“It’s only been five minutes. Are they that efficient?” He shook his head.
“These ‘Ghost Servants’ are mostly half-finished products, too low-grade, and not strong enough. It took so much effort to secretly move them into Sinhe City. The input-output ratio is too high.”
Blake thought back to the blue-haired beauty who had easily cut his monsters in half with her psionic ability and continued to mutter to himself:
“She’s a very charming young lady, truly very charming. It’s a pity I can’t let her live. Killing a beautiful young lady is a very sad thing, a real shame. But if it’s an ugly woman who’s killed, then it’s no big deal. After all, ugly people are worthless, and no one cares about ugly freaks—except for their families.”
