Chapter 14: A Day at the Academy: Revelations and Rejection

Royal Capital, High-Tier Sacred Magic Academy—

As previously mentioned, this was the highest-level magical academy established by the Holy See.

Consequently, it was situated in the bustling heart of the Royal Capital’s central district.

As they walked the path leading from the academy gates, the Demon Lord found himself quite intrigued.

Towering ancient trees scraped the sky, vibrant seas of flowers bloomed everywhere, and forest paths shimmered, paved with glistening jewels.

The sheer opulence exuded by the school was enough to inspire awe.

In stark contrast, Allyrose appeared far calmer.

Having already studied here for a year, the girl seemed largely unfazed by the commonplace sights before her.

She simply walked ahead, leading the way with a placid expression, until the two finally stepped into the grand, opulent teaching building.

Only then did the girl offer a quiet sigh.

“A year has passed, yet the school hasn’t changed a bit,” she murmured.

‘What a pity… only its appearance remained unchanged,’ she mused.

For Allyrose, and especially for the Allyrose of the original plot, the alterations within the school were profound and numerous.

With another sigh, the girl led Luo Jia into their classroom.

She casually found a seat in the back row, and with a flourish, pulled out a chair for her ‘little white-haired boy’.

Luo Jia paused, startled, then turned his head to observe the bustling crowd at the front of the classroom.

It had never occurred to him that the former Saintess… would choose such a secluded corner to sit in.

‘Isn’t this a bit… antisocial?’ he wondered.

The Demon Lord wasn’t one for crowds, but he found the scene rather peculiar.

A moment later, he settled beside the girl, then quietly began to observe the students at the front of the classroom.

Wait, that was—!

Luo Jia’s eyes widened, and in an instant, he recognized the somewhat familiar blonde loli among the students.

After all, he had just seen her yesterday.

‘The new true Saintess, Vivian?’

‘She’s in the same class as Allyrose?!’

‘Uh… this…’

‘Thinking about it this way, it’s not so hard to understand after all…’

Luo Jia quietly observed the scene unfolding there.

A group of female students now encircled Vivian, chatting cheerfully and seemingly vying to curry favor with her, hoping to make a good impression.

“Vivian knows so much! Truly worthy of being the Saintess~”

“Of course! Our Vivian has been independently training since she was little. I truly admire you~”

“Vivian is truly beautiful and kind-hearted! Even her drawings are so lovely. May I purchase one for a thousand dinars to add to my collection~?”

“Lady Vivian, are you interested in a band? I’d love to invite you to be our lead singer! Oh… I heard you humming by the flowerbed; it was simply divine!”

“Ahaha, everyone, really… you’re making me blush with all your praises~” Vivian giggled.

“Just take any of my casual doodles; they’re nothing special. As for the band, I’d genuinely love to try it if I had the chance, but being the Saintess is quite busy right now, so I might not have time for a while~”

Observing Vivian’s adorably modest demeanor, Luo Jia couldn’t help but frown.

A moment later, he turned to Allyrose and inquired:

“Do the students here at the school already know that Vivian has replaced you as Saintess, Allyrose?”

“Hmph… I’m afraid it’s not just my classmates who know~” Allyrose chuckled softly, propping her chin.

Then she shook her head and explained:

“The moment Vivian arrived, the Holy See eagerly announced it to the entire city. Even the King was startled at the time.”

“But now… you can see for yourself, everyone has pretty much accepted it…”

As she spoke, the black-haired, straight-haired girl turned back to Luo Jia, narrowing her eyes mischievously.

Then she whispered:

“So, my little white-haired boy, when you first called me ‘Saintess,’ you completely gave yourself away right then and there~”

“After all, not knowing even that means you’re definitely not from the Royal Capital, which significantly increases your suspiciousness as a demon~”

“Cough, cough…”

Having been called out by Allyrose, Luo Jia let out two embarrassed coughs.

He then looked back towards Vivian’s group, just as he was wondering if no one in the entire class would pay attention to Allyrose, the ‘fake Saintess’…

Suddenly, a familiar figure entered through the classroom door.

It was Allyrose’s fiancé, Jason!

Upon seeing Jason’s arrival, Luo Jia thought, ‘Surely he’s here for Allyrose?’

‘After all, didn’t they agree yesterday to meet at school today?’

‘Even if you take a step back, fiancés are still lovers. Shouldn’t they at least greet each other when they meet in the classroom?’

However…

Luo Jia turned his head, only to find that Allyrose, facing her own fiancé, had silently averted her gaze.

Not only did she show no reaction whatsoever, but she even seemed to deliberately ignore him.

The Demon Lord blinked in confusion.

A moment later, he looked towards the other side, seeing that Jason, upon entering, had indeed glanced in Allyrose’s direction in the corner.

However, just a moment later, Vivian suddenly darted from her seat and excitedly leaped into Jason’s embrace.

“Brother Jason~ Why are you here~ Ehehe, are you here to see Vivian? What a coincidence, I’ve prepared a gift for you~ Ta-da~ A hand-knitted hat, just for you~!”

“Wow~—”

“Hmph~ So sweet~ I feel like my blood sugar is going to spike~!”

“Seriously, who understands? Lady Vivian and Brother Jason are absolutely perfect for each other!”

“I’m shipping it, I’m shipping it~!”

As the adorable blonde loli obediently presented the hat, the surrounding students immediately erupted into cheers and catcalls.

Vivian, at the center of the commotion, blushed shyly and lowered her head.

Only Jason remained, smiling awkwardly, before taking the hat and leaning in to whisper something to Vivian.

‘Good heavens…’

Witnessing this bizarre scene, Luo Jia couldn’t help but glance at Allyrose beside him again.

These cheering classmates were truly something; Jason’s legitimate fiancée was right there, yet they were putting on such a show directly in front of her.

Wasn’t this utterly disrespectful to Allyrose?

“Now… do you understand why I brought you to school instead of leaving you at home to guard the house, my little white-haired boy?”

After a moment, as Luo Jia still simmered with indignation, Allyrose suddenly brushed a strand of hair back.

Then, in a cool, quiet voice, she spoke to him:

“Firstly, I wanted to show you a bit of the world. Secondly… well, it’s like this.”

“Sigh, actually, I used to get along quite well with those people who are cheering now…”

“But now… if I didn’t have you, I’d truly be all alone in this school…”
