Chapter 14: Don’t You Want to Touch?

“Can we take a two-person trip during winter break, Brother? I wanna go skiing in the north!” Yan Xi said, her face full of longing.

She rarely visited the north.

Unlike the eastern regions, many northern areas transformed into a white wonderland in winter.

There, the sky, distant mountains, houses, chimney smoke, dawn, and starry nights… all looked pure and breathtaking under the snow.

To Yan Xi, it felt like a magical world straight out of a fairy tale.

“I don’t know how to ski.”

Ling Yuan stuffed his hands into his hoodie pockets. Late October weather was hot at noon but chilly in the mornings and evenings. Wearing just a hoodie, his teeth chattered from the cold.

“I do, hehe.”

Yan Xi grabbed his arm.

“It’ll be just you and me! Our own little world! I’m so excited!”

“You’re even more delusional than me. No way Mom would let just the two of us go.”

Ling Yuan kept a slight distance, making sure her body didn’t fully press against his.

“It’s fine. They’ll be abroad on business. They do their thing, we do ours—no interference~”

Yan Xi pulled him closer.

“Stop dodging. Is my chest not good enough for you? Any normal guy would love this, right!?”

She raised one eyebrow, puzzled.

“No, no, no.”

Ling Yuan yanked his arm back like he’d been shocked.

“This isn’t right… not right…”

“Eh?”

Yan Xi grabbed his hand with a sly grin.

“Touch it for me~ You could be the first~”

“People are watching! Stop it, stop it!”

Ling Yuan shook her off, stepping back several meters.

Yan Xi glanced around, pouting.

“There’s no one here. Come on, don’t be shy~”

She leaned close to his ear, whispering seductively.

“I can tell… they’re bouncing a lot today…”

Realizing how embarrassing that sounded, he turned his head away, his face red to his ears.

Suddenly, Ling Yuan spun around, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her.

After a moment, he let go. Yan Xi pouted slightly.

“If you won’t touch, at least shield me a bit!”

Having such a full chest came with its troubles—walking made them jiggle. Normally, a supportive bra would reduce the movement, but for Yan Xi, no bra could stop it!

Ling Yuan sighed helplessly.

She hooked his arm into hers, nearly making his nose bleed.

How to describe the feeling of his arm…

It was like sinking into something softer than marshmallows, ethereal and unreal.

Yan Xi smirked, her plan succeeding. Barbecue was long forgotten.

“Go to the barbecue place first. I’ll get you a milk tea.”

Ling Yuan came up with an excuse to ditch her.

Ling Yuan groaned inwardly.

“Hehe, I’m heading to the barbecue place then. Remember, one milk tea!”

He agreed half-heartedly.

[I’ll just grab two straws, problem solved!]

The barbecue joint was buzzing. To draw in customers, the grills were set up outside.

The sizzle of grilling meat and its mouthwatering aroma were irresistible to passersby.

So hungry, so hungry, so hungry…

Yan Xi had been craving this barbecue for ages! But eating with her parents meant every move had to scream “elegance.”

With her brother, it was different.

Elegant manners? Never learned ‘em! Ladylike image? No clue!

“How many, miss?”

A cheerful server greeted her.

“Two.”

Yan Xi followed the server to a table near the entrance.

Annoyingly, the table next to hers had smokers. She hated the smell and scooted inward.

While browsing the menu, the noise from the neighboring table grew louder, making her frown.

“Here’s to Manager Han! Securing that big deal with Mengxi Group today—huge credit goes to you!”

Her mom’s company?

Yan Xi glanced at them. Despite their suits, they looked sloppy, clearly drunk, faces red and manners crude.

Not likable at all.

Her gaze returned to the menu.

[It’s understandable they’re excited about closing a deal with our company.]

Mengxi Group was consistently among the province’s top ten companies, with contracts starting in the millions.

“F*ck, Mengxi Group ain’t sh*t. Tons of companies are bigger, but none have as many damn rules. So f*cking annoying.”

Yan Xi took a deep breath. She was a bit miffed but not enough to argue. Her mother was always meticulous, leaving no room for error.

Sometimes even Yan Xi found her annoying.

“I got the milk tea. You ordered yet?”

Ling Yuan sat across from her, sliding the milk tea over.

Yan Xi brushed her bangs aside, smiling.

“Waiting for Big Brother to order together.”
