“Little Orange, wait for me, don’t walk so fast.”

Yin Xuelian jogged to catch up with the sulking Su Cheng, firmly grasping Su Cheng’s small hand to make her stop.

“Why did you run off while I was paying? Are you really angry?”

Su Cheng avoided looking at Yin Xuelian, deliberately turning her head to the side.

Seeing this, Yin Xuelian cajoled and coaxed: “Don’t be angry with big sister. Big sister really was out of line just now. I’ll definitely correct myself in the future. Big sister will treat you to a bubble tea, order anything you like.”

Yin Xuelian pointed to the bubble tea shop’s sign, waiting for Su Cheng’s response.

She guessed Su Cheng wouldn’t be truly angry, just needed a little coaxing.

And Su Cheng had a slight weakness for drinks and bubble tea; she already liked them, especially after rebirth, she liked sweet things even more.

But Su Cheng didn’t want to forgive her so easily yet.

Su Cheng pouted, letting out a soft hum: “That’s it? One bubble tea is all it takes to buy me off? You underestimate me too much.”

Yin Xuelian chuckled apologetically: “Then, if you want to drink it in the future, I’ll buy it for you, on call.”

Hearing this, Su Cheng’s expression immediately relaxed, but she couldn’t show it too obviously. She said coldly, “Then today I want a half-sweet coconut jelly milk tea.”

Yin Xuelian instantly beamed with joy: “Alright, alright, I’ll buy it for you right away.”

She tightened her grip on Su Cheng’s small hand and walked with light steps to the bubble tea shop counter, ordering two bubble teas.

Five minutes later, both had a bubble tea in hand and set off on their way back.

Su Cheng sipped and secretly chuckled.

Drinking an icy cold bubble tea on a hot day was truly enjoyable.

Su Cheng walked, drank, and played on her phone. She had to say, this new phone was pretty good; playing Goddess of Victory was incredibly smooth.

It truly lived up to its name as a Dorothy co-branded phone; genuinely easy to use.

“Little Orange, we’re crossing the road, watch out for cars, don’t get too engrossed in playing.”

Yin Xuelian followed behind Su Cheng, holding her bubble tea with both hands, incidentally glancing at the game she was playing.

“I know, I know.”

Su Cheng responded casually, but kept her head down, engrossed in the mobile game.

Arriving at the intersection, Su Cheng looked up and saw the green light. Without thinking, she walked forward with her head down, her attention entirely on the game, completely oblivious to the right-turning vehicle speeding towards them from not far away.

“Beep beep! Beep beep!”

“Little Orange, watch out!”

“Oh! My bubble tea!”

Yin Xuelian’s reaction and movements were swift. Before the car could hit Su Cheng, she quickly darted forward, wrapped an arm around Su Cheng’s waist, and then spun and stepped back, saving her.

However, the bubble tea, not held firmly, became a casualty, flattened by the car’s wheel and splattered all over the ground.

She mourned the bubble tea for a second.

Yin Xuelian’s reaction was different; she tightly hugged Su Cheng’s waist, not daring to relax, first asking in a low voice.

“Little Orange, are you okay? You didn’t get hit anywhere, did you?”

Su Cheng shook her head, responding softly: “I’m fine, not even a single hair was touched, it’s just that the bubble tea is gone.”

Su Cheng heard Yin Xuelian’s exhaled sigh of relief, and the pressure on her waist simultaneously lessened.

Yin Xuelian came in front of Su Cheng, half-crouched down to check if Su Cheng had any injuries. Even though Su Cheng told her she was fine, Yin Xuelian insisted on checking personally to be at ease.

After confirming Su Cheng was perfectly unharmed, Yin Xuelian finally raised a hand to wipe the cold sweat from her forehead.

“Phew, you scared me to death. It’s good that you’re okay, good that you’re okay.”

As Yin Xuelian spoke, the deep worry in her eyes gradually vanished. She held Su Cheng’s tender hand tightly, unwilling to let go.

“Sister Lian, what’s wrong? Why so nervous?”

Yin Xuelian gently tapped Su Cheng’s forehead, speaking with a tone much like a parent scolding a child: “How can I not be nervous? I told you to watch for cars, but you just keep looking at your phone.”

“What if something happened to you? What would I do?”

Yin Xuelian’s expression darkened, and she lowered her head, her forehead hair swaying in the wind, obscuring her eyes.

“I don’t want to lose you again…”

A faint voice came from Yin Xuelian’s mouth, but the words, shattered by a car horn, didn’t reach Su Cheng’s ears, carried away by the wind.

Su Cheng looked confusedly at the hand tightly held by Yin Xuelian, then met Yin Xuelian’s uneasy gaze.

‘What’s wrong with her?’

In that gaze, besides uneasiness, there was also a hint of fear.

As if once she let go, the person in front of her would immediately disappear.

“I won’t call you Little Orange anymore, I’ll call you Little Silly One instead,” Yin Xuelian, having composed herself, grinned, returning to the state Su Cheng was familiar with.

This was for the best.

Su Cheng pouted slightly, somewhat defiant: “How am I silly? I’m very quick-witted.”

“Still talking back? I told you not to watch the road, and now your bubble tea is gone, isn’t it?”

Yin Xuelian seized the opportunity to tap Su Cheng’s forehead, to make her sober up.

“Drinking less is good too, helps control blood sugar.”

Yin Xuelian smiled: “Oh, so you’re taking the chance to lecture me, huh?”

Su Cheng awkwardly touched her head: “I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare.”

Yin Xuelian handed her the remaining half of her bubble tea. Su Cheng was greatly surprised.

“We’ve already walked this far, it’s not practical to go back and buy another. I can’t drink that much, if you don’t mind, drink mine.”

Su Cheng politely declined: “No, no, that won’t do. I’ve had enough too, I can’t drink anymore.”

Yin Xuelian feigned a pathetic look, lowering her head: “Sigh, Little Orange is disliking me again, it’s all my fault…”

Su Cheng couldn’t stand her acting like this anymore, and snatched the half-empty bubble tea from Yin Xuelian’s hand.

“Didn’t you say you couldn’t drink anymore?”

“I can still drink a little.”

Yin Xuelian smiled again, even happier about having her bubble tea taken.

Su Cheng couldn’t figure out what Yin Xuelian was thinking. She stared at the straw, hesitated for a moment, and finally, under Yin Xuelian’s expectant gaze, bit the straw and started drinking.

‘What am I afraid of? I’ve kissed her so many times in my past life; now it’s just tasting her saliva.’

At this, Yin Xuelian’s smile became even more radiant and sweet.

Yin Xuelian, still worried, held Su Cheng’s small hand as they walked. Su Cheng didn’t dare to play on her phone anymore, dutifully drinking her bubble tea as they returned to school.

There were still about forty minutes left until the afternoon military training. Su Cheng pondered finding a cool spot to rest, not wanting to run back to the dorm.

The round trip alone would take about ten minutes, leaving little time for rest back in the dorm.

And so, Yin Xuelian led Su Cheng to the nearest pavilion from the west playground for a short nap.

“Sister Lian, aren’t you going back to the dorm to rest?”

Yin Xuelian shook her head, responding to Su Cheng: “No need. I’ll stay and keep you company. Besides, I don’t have class this afternoon.”

Su Cheng felt warmth welling up in her heart. She put down her bubble tea and took off her hat.

“That’s too much trouble for Sister Lian.”

Yin Xuelian gently squeezed Su Cheng’s small hand and softly said to Su Cheng: “It’s no trouble at all. Besides, I can also rest here for a bit.”

Su Cheng smiled faintly without speaking, her clear, spring-like eyes reflecting Yin Xuelian’s exquisitely beautiful smile.

“Then I’ll close my eyes for a bit, Sister Lian, keep an eye on the time, don’t let me oversleep.”

“Go ahead and sleep, leave it to me.”

Su Cheng still trusted Yin Xuelian considerably. Regardless of whether Yin Xuelian was a reborn person or not, in Su Cheng’s mind, she was a very reliable person.

The white-haired girl, leaning against the back of the chair, closed her eyes for a nap.

The cool breeze played with the girl’s snow-like hair, the refreshing chill permeating her heart, making her feel utterly comfortable.

Yin Xuelian, who was handling student union matters on her phone, suddenly felt a weight on her shoulder, and soft, steady breathing could be heard.

“Little Orange…”

“Mmm…”

The sleeping Su Cheng made a muffled whimper. Yin Xuelian gently poked her delicate cheek, but there was no reaction.

“Mm… Sister Lian… No kissing…”

Huh???

Large question marks immediately popped up over Yin Xuelian’s head, but Su Cheng remained sound asleep.

‘This little girl won’t even let me kiss her in her dreams, huh.’

‘Don’t you believe I’ll sneak a kiss right now? Anyway, you won’t even know!’

Yin Xuelian felt a bit exasperated, wanting to do something mischievous to that well-behaved sleeping face.

“Lian’er… you’re back… I was wrong…”

A sudden mumble interrupted Yin Xuelian’s vengeful thoughts. Her eyes gazed at Su Cheng’s face, filled with disbelief.

“Lian’er…”

Yin Xuelian softly repeated the name from Su Cheng’s mumble.

That was the affectionate nickname Su Cheng had given Yin Xuelian. Only when they chatted online or were alone would Su Cheng call her Lian’er.

A familiar yet unfamiliar address, spoken from Su Cheng’s mouth. Yin Xuelian’s expression was a mix of emotions, somewhat agitated.

‘Sure enough…’

‘Su Cheng, she really is her Little Orange.’

Her heart suddenly accelerated, but Yin Xuelian couldn’t show too much excitement, as that would wake the sleeping beauty beside her.

Wiping away half a hot tear from the corner of her eye, Yin Xuelian’s eyes held both happiness and annoyance.

But thankfully, heaven had given them a chance to reunite.

In this reunited world, this time, I won’t lose you again.

Yin Xuelian turned her head, staring at Su Cheng’s moist, cherry lips. She wanted to secretly celebrate.

“Last time, your first kiss wasn’t with me, but this time, the first time is me, and the second time is still me.”

Yin Xuelian whispered smugly to herself.

Compared to Lin Shiyue, she had already won too much.

Yin Xuelian held her breath, savoring the fragrant tea in the silence. Though it was just a fleeting, butterfly-light touch, the girl’s heart was content.

Yin Xuelian gazed deeply at the lips she had just kissed, her face filled with triumph.

“No kissing? I’ll just kiss you anyway, you big dummy…”
