Chapter 15: Amethyst’s Unbridled Fury

Although she once harbored some reservations about her parents,

how was that saying? The more one despises their parents, the more they tend to resemble them.

Ink Crystal had always detested her parents’ emphasis on efficiency, much like how she poured more heart into her cooking.

Yet, in truth, she herself was extremely efficient.

Thus, the moment the Regenerator burst from the ground, she activated her skill almost without hesitation. She held nothing back, immediately unleashing her full power.

Her speed was so astonishing that the other two Magical Girls were somewhat taken aback, barely having time to react.

The Regenerator’s body was already torn open with a massive hole!

“Move!” Ink Crystal suddenly shouted.

Amethyst snapped back to reality. A purple ice crystal enveloped the leaf, then instantly plunged into the Regenerator’s flesh and blood.

Concurrently, Emerald’s staff gleamed with a vibrant emerald light.

The leaf, now embedded within the Regenerator’s body, began to grow at that very instant. It took root and sprouted in an unnatural, vigorous manner, its dense root system drawing nourishment from the Regenerator’s own flesh and blood.

The fleshy body visibly withered.

From Ink Crystal’s initial attack to the completion of this process, the entire sequence took no more than five seconds.

Within five seconds of emerging from the ground, the Regenerator was subdued by the combined efforts of the three Magical Girls. It seemed to try and undergo some transformation by wriggling its flesh, attempting to escape its current state.

But it couldn’t.

Its flesh was withering, and the more it withered, the more restricted it became.

As a support, Magical Girl Emerald’s abilities in this regard were truly awe-inspiring.

Amidst the shriveling of its flesh, the life formed from that very flesh gradually began to take on a somewhat human form as it withered and faded.

It was a gaunt man, looking as if he might die at any second.

At this moment, the leaf underwent a drastic change.

It transformed into a verdant barrier, sealing the man within the emerald.

Seeing this sight, both Amethyst and Emerald visibly relaxed.

“This should be enough. I’ll take him to the prison now and see if there’s a way to revive him, so we can track down the monster organization that modified him.”

Magical Girls could directly kill such monsters, but considering the Regenerator’s inherent power, it was crucial to uncover the monster organization that had modified it. Otherwise, if they managed to mass-produce Regenerators, it could lead to societal upheaval.

At that point, it wouldn’t be something the three Magical Girls alone could resolve.

****

“Hey there, three lovely ladies, would you do me a favor and let that poor man go?”

At that instant, all three Magical Girls simultaneously turned towards the source of the voice.

Standing on the roof of a nearby three-story building was a man wearing a goat mask. He exuded an extremely dangerous aura.

Ink Crystal tightened her grip on her sword, ready to strike.

Amethyst acted immediately.

Dense purple crystal shurikens rained down, directly striking the building.

“You’re far too impatient, Miss Amethyst. I thought amethyst symbolized mystery and nobility. Why would you act like this, striking before even letting someone finish their words?”

“What?!”

Amethyst spun around abruptly. The man was already standing behind her!

Then came a kick.

Amethyst was sent flying, crashing into another building.

‘How did he move just now?’

Ink Crystal didn’t understand. She hadn’t seen his trajectory. ‘Was it speed? Did his speed exceed the limits of my vision? Or was it some special ability akin to spatial movement?’

‘No, it’s also possible that the one we saw at first wasn’t the real person at all, but an illusion.’

‘Regardless, the one who attacked Amethyst must be the genuine article.’

‘Should I act?’

“This is a tragic man,” the goat-masked man suddenly interjected. “He voluntarily became a modified human for the organization. If you want a reason… cancer. Incurable cancer. Regular institutions couldn’t help. They told him he had a month at most.”

“But what was he to do? He had children to raise, parents to support, a mortgage to pay. He was the pillar of his family; anyone else could fall, but he couldn’t.”

“He had to live, at all costs. So he became our organization’s experiment, accepting the power of a monstrous fiend and becoming a Regenerator. He bravely survived.”

Beneath the man’s mask, there seemed to be an expression of profound pity, even if unseen, one could almost imagine it from his tone: “So, Magical Girls, I cannot let you take him away! Of course, you would save him; after enduring the monster’s power, he now has the possibility of being saved.”

“But you would destroy the organization. You would cause countless people like him to lose all hope of life! Is that what Magical Girls should do?”

“The battle just now has finalized his last data. We can revive him. So, Magical Girls, hand him over to me.”

As his words fell, he vanished from his original spot.

In the next instant, he appeared behind Emerald.

“Miss Emerald, please…”

“STING!!!!”

Before the man could make any further move, Ink Crystal transformed into a streak of black light, charging at him.

“What?!”

Flesh splattered onto the ground, then struggled to reform.

Ink Crystal knew.

“Another Regenerator…” She had just saved Emerald, but her expression turned extremely grim. Clearly, while Amethyst was pursuing the previous Regenerator, the hidden monster organization had been continuously tracking and studying *this* Regenerator. This masked individual before them was far more troublesome than the previous one!

This was utterly beyond Emerald’s expectations. She hadn’t imagined Ink Crystal, as a new Magical Girl, could make such a calm judgment.

If she hadn’t sensed the opponent’s attack, Ink Crystal should have found it equally difficult. This implied… Ink Crystal had anticipated what the goat-masked man was about to do, launching her attack preemptively.

“Emerald, take that guy and go! Don’t let them take him away. His purpose in appearing here is precisely that.” Ink Crystal clutched her ink-colored longsword, her gaze fixed on the goat-masked man.

However, having just been attacked, the opponent seemed somewhat disoriented and hesitated to act rashly.

“Amethyst! If you’re not dead, hurry up and get out here! This mess is your doing, isn’t it?!”

From within the building, a purple light suddenly burst forth.

“I’ve been played for a fool by you all! You didn’t just fuse a complete monstrous fiend with a human, but instead used the human body’s inherent cancer cells, then guided and restricted them with the monster’s power to create these modified monsters!”

Amethyst soared into the sky, her expression almost ferocious: “This is truly humiliating!”

“This isn’t good…”

“Run!”

Emerald suddenly dragged the emerald barrier, pulling Ink Crystal along as she fled.

“Amethyst has gone berserk! Run first, she’ll kill that goat-masked man at any cost.”

‘What? What happened?’

“AMETHYST WORLD!”

Before Ink Crystal could fully comprehend the situation, a vast area centered around Amethyst began to manifest with purple crystals.

“Faster!” Emerald dragged Ink Crystal and the sealed monster, slipping through the last gap before the “world” formed by the Amethyst crystals closed completely.

Ink Crystal looked up at the enclosed space, which had a radius of at least five hundred meters.

Amethyst floated in the sky.

“I don’t know how you move so fast. Perhaps it’s an illusion, perhaps something else, but it doesn’t matter now—I should thank Ink Crystal. After all, you Regenerators move incredibly fast. If she hadn’t landed a hit on you, forcing you to repair your body here, I wouldn’t have been able to trap you inside.”

“But, now that you’re trapped by me…”

At this moment, the goat mask finally repaired his body. He vanished from his spot once more, reappearing behind Amethyst, and with a heavy punch, directly pierced through Amethyst’s chest.

“What?”

The Amethyst before him transformed into a genuine amethyst crystal.

Then it shattered, and in another direction, Amethyst’s figure reappeared.

She clasped her hands together.

“AMETHYST STORM!”

Just like a winter snowstorm, no matter how one tries to dodge, they will inevitably be touched by the snow.

Within this massive world composed of amethyst, Amethyst was the snowstorm; no matter how one dodged, they would be torn apart by the amethyst.

“Are you kidding me?! Can she really be this powerful?”

As ordinary citizens, when encountering Magical Girls, monsters, or monstrous fiends, the priority was always to evacuate. Magical Girls themselves couldn’t typically be filmed.

But… this was simply too exaggerated.

Why was Magical Girl Amethyst so incredibly powerful?

“This woman’s ultimate move alone can even contend with Rainbow Jade’s power,” Emerald explained. “But this skill isn’t allowed to be unleashed. The destructive range is simply too vast.”

“I heard she’s had a lot of her bonuses deducted because of it. While it’s not enough to fine her, she won’t use this move unless she’s exceptionally furious or facing an exceptionally powerful monster.”

“Then what about this time?”

Ink Crystal didn’t understand. Hadn’t she just been kicked away? She looked perfectly fine. Why was she so enraged?

“It’s mainly guilt, I suppose?” Emerald mused. “Since Regenerators aren’t products of human-monster fusion, it’s now difficult to estimate how many Regenerators that monster organization has, or how powerful they are. She’s probably filled with remorse right now, feeling genuine anger at the fact that she was deceived. After all—”

“A large-scale operation is about to begin. We can’t allow this organization to continue existing. You need to be prepared, Ink Crystal. Things might get very difficult.”

She left, taking the Regenerator with her.

In Emerald’s words, since the other party had unleashed Amethyst Storm, there would absolutely be nothing left of the goat-masked man. So there was no need to keep watching. She needed to cooperate with the government to uncover the monster organization behind the Regenerators.

This job was not easy…

‘Time to go home…’

Ink Crystal also departed.

Lin Han emerged from behind a building.

“Regenerators, a monster organization… a large-scale subjugation operation?” His gaze fell upon the still raging Amethyst Storm.

“Magical Girls… this job isn’t easy either… Are you really going to be okay?”
