Chapter 15: CoExistence

Battles are surprisingly simple.

In the end, the stronger one wins.

The shield of the emperor, who was praised as invincible and had never been pierced, even with Elasia’s fierce attack, was pierced by the simple logic of Aegis Charlotte’s shield being pierced.

It was simply very pure.

When the power she had poured in until then could not be pierced, she simply pushed with stronger power.

And Elasia’s power, which had become a god, was just enough to pierce Aegis’s shield.

That seemingly simple difference created the current situation.

Aegis’ shield, which had been blocking Elasia’s destructive power without any sign of difficulty and instead continuously counterattacking and tearing Elasia’s body apart, collapsed in a single moment!

And it seemed to mean that not only had the balance of this battle collapsed, but that the victory or defeat itself had been decided.

It couldn’t be otherwise…

The hand of the god who was once called a saint not only pierced the knight’s shield, but also shattered the knight’s heart with the hand that pierced the shield.

At the same time, the knight’s sword that stretched out was still able to cut through the body of the woman who had become a god, but Elasia easily recovered from the wound as if it were a given.

And as a result, Elasia was laughing like crazy, and the knight weakly vomited blood and dropped the shield that he had always held firmly, unable to hold on any longer.

As if he no longer had the strength to hold the shield!

Gulp!

Red blood flowed from the knight’s mouth.

‘Ignorantly… strong…’

The knight seemed to know all too well the essence of the author who was the god before his eyes.

At first glance, it seemed like he was handling a very unique and original power, but that wasn’t the case.

That power was just dirty strong.

A fighting style that completely overwhelms the enemy through the overwhelming output of the power that one possesses.

It’s a simple and ignorant fighting style that seems to have never received proper combat training.

However, just as the strength of a beast is not something that is acquired through effort but is simply something that is born, proper techniques may be unnecessary for the owner of such crazy strength who is already at the peak.

Some people may say that.

How much stronger would he be if techniques were added to his strength?

That’s a foolish statement.

That’s only the perspective of someone who has honed his skills…

For a strong person with such strength, techniques may actually be a shackle.

Look, isn’t there an absolute strong person who has surpassed the limits of his species with only the talent and the sum of his simple strength?

If the situation weren’t the situation, it would have been really interesting…

Gulp!

The knight’s body, which once again coughed up blood, was lifted into the air like a puppet with its strings cut, shaking precariously.

“… Great sinner.”

“Huh~ Are you still saying that?”

The knight snickered as he noticed that the monster in front of him was in a good mood, perhaps because he had decided that he had won.

Wasn’t he an easy person to understand?

How could he feel so good right away just because he had gotten rid of one obstacle?

“Doesn’t what you see in your eyes look that different from mine?

And yet you call me a great sinner… and talk down to me!”

The saintess, who had stabbed the knight’s body with one hand and was shaking it violently to add to his pain, laughed.

“Well, I’m the one standing in the end.

I think it’s become clear who is more suitable for Zion, right?”

Elasia’s eyes flashed with a sense of superiority.

Now that she had gotten rid of the obstacle that was the biggest obstacle, she was thrilled at the thought that there would be no more obstacles that would hinder her like this.

She was really honest about her feelings.

…Unlike herself.

As expected, she lacks experience.

She wouldn’t even imagine hiding something in battle!

“Well! Is there anything you want to say?

I am a merciful saint who will be with Zion.

I am not a merciless being who would not listen to the will of a bug on the verge of death?”

Hehehe…

The knight laughed at that attitude.

“…Critical sinner, have you ever thought that something was strange?”

That kind of attitude is good.

That is, from a fighting perspective.

Who is easier to deal with than someone who thinks that the fight is over when it isn’t over and thinks that it is their victory?

However, he couldn’t help but admit it.

The being before his eyes was truly filthy strong.

Aegis admitted that the being before his eyes was stronger and more difficult than anyone he had ever faced.

That was why it was easier.

There is no such thing as fair play in a fight.

Especially if there was someone he absolutely had to win through this fight…

It was best to win at all costs!

“Have you ever thought that my shield was broken too easily?

Didn’t you feel that the sensation of the pierced heart was a little different?”

“What…? You, what is that…”

“You are a transcendent being who has surpassed the realm, and at the same time a great sinner…

The sweetness of victory has blinded your eyes.”

Keuhehehe…!

The knight’s laughter echoed through the land that was beginning to become silent.

At the same time, a piercing red light rose up from the knight’s eyes as if it were burning.

“I can’t deny it. You were stronger than anyone I’ve ever faced.”

“What…!!”

“That’s fortunate. You don’t have much experience…!”

I should have suspected it.

If my shield, which had been perfectly fine without a single scratch from your attacks, had collapsed so easily!

Instead of being intoxicated by victory, I should have sensed an abnormality in my senses!

The knight, Aegis Charlotte, already knew.

She was weaker than the being before her.

No matter how well she fought, she was bound to lose.

In the end, the shield she boasted about would be pierced.

That shouldn’t happen.

Even if she didn’t win, she couldn’t ‘defeat.’

She absolutely couldn’t stand by and watch someone other than herself, Your Majesty, have a lord she adored.

That’s why she was pierced in part.

After all, she wouldn’t die at that level!

She cut off everything with her own hands so that the empire would fall and no kingdom could be born.

That’s how she spent countless years, calling herself the Emperor’s gravekeeper.

How did she endure all those years?

Just because she was strong?

Because she was the strongest knight??

No, not at all.

She could not overcome the limits of humanity.

However, her spirit, her love for the emperor, her obsession were different!

That spirit surpassed the limits and remained even after her body died, and as time passed, her obsession grew stronger and swallowed up her dead body.

She was not human.

She was a being who had reached a high level of power, and simply used her powerful magic to form a human body and pretended to be human.

A vengeful spirit.

That was the true identity of the knight Aegis Charlotte!

That was why she did not die.

The obsession that would not die even after her grudge was released was the very existence of Aegis Charlotte now.

Crunch…!!

The moment Elasia sensed something strange, Aegis laughed and transformed her body, binding her arms in reverse.

“Tsk…! T, Tsk…!!!”

“Do you know why I put down my shield, you mortal sinner?”

A look of astonishment appeared on the face of the human who had ascended to a god, and a malicious smile appeared on the face of the human who had become a vengeful spirit.

“It was to give more power to the sword.”

Since she knew that she couldn’t do it with just a shield, she had to focus even more on the sword.

A huge flame made of resentment began to burn while Elasia let her guard down, engulfing the sword.

“Profit…! This son of a b*tch-!!!”

Hiss!

“If I can’t have it, you can never have it either…”

The sword of resentment that bloomed as if screaming along with the malicious face rose up, and “We’ll be destroyed together.”

Crackle!!!

The human selfishness of never being able to yield to someone else what you don’t have.

The sword filled with that jealousy and malice tore through the saint’s body, and “AA…

This sword attack did not even allow the saint, who had been recovering normally despite numerous attacks, to recover.

Gh…

Soon, the battle came to an end as two people flew in different directions, with a spectacle that seemed to pierce the sky with a scream.

A complete annihilation where no one had any victory.

A draw.

A draw created by the knight’s experience and sophistication.

That was the conclusion of this fierce battle.

… Compared to the scale of the epic battle that almost turned the nation upside down, it was a somewhat insignificant conclusion…

But, well, from the perspective of those two, and from the current government’s perspective, wouldn’t it be something to sigh in relief and dance in joy?

And that’s when I saw the conclusion of the battle that had completely blown my home away…

“Wow, it’s Europe!”

The cause of that fight had now arrived in Europe.

The Emperor’s Shield!!

The loyal knight Aegis Charlotte who clings even after becoming a vengeful ghost!!!
