Chapter 16: Outer Sea Mongolia

Outer Sea Mongolia is a nation on the continent of Luoshengzhou.

It was originally a province of the Northern Mong Empire, but due to the Northern Mong Empire’s poor governance, Outer Sea Mongolia split away.

Outer Sea Mongolia lies by the sea, and its rulers humbly consulted neighboring countries regarding maritime military matters, which is why its navy grew far stronger than that of the Northern Mong Empire.

Its wealth largely comes from overseas trade, and its land grows various spice plants unavailable in the Northern Mong Empire.

The Northern Mong Empire repeatedly attempted to reunify with Outer Sea Mongolia, but the rulers of Outer Sea Mongolia had no intention of returning.

At one time, Prime Minister Acheketumula Khan Biruknurba responded to Northern Mong diplomats with, “Our paths differ, therefore we cannot plan together.”

Later, the Northern Mong Empire attempted to conquer Outer Sea Mongolia by force, but due to Outer Sea Mongolia’s powerful navy, the Northern Mong Empire failed despite prolonged efforts.

Outer Sea Mongolia established friendly diplomatic relations with Seras, Xidai, the Willow Kingdom, and twenty-two other nations.

These nations aided and supported each other, including militarily, which caused great anxiety and resentment in the Northern Mong Empire.

The rulers of the Northern Mong Empire declared: “Whoever establishes relations with Outer Sea Mongolia acknowledges its independence; such a nation we shall regard as an enemy.”

However, Seras often protected small nations, and the Northern Mong Empire knew Seras was strong, so this threat was eventually dropped.

Outer Sea Mongolia’s refusal to return is truly the fault of the Northern Mong Empire’s rulers.

If Outer Sea Mongolia had spoken insolently regarding reunification, that would be another matter entirely.

But the rulers of the Northern Mong Empire ought first to reflect upon themselves, or seek advice from Seras and other nations to strengthen their navy.

Otherwise, no matter what method they use, within the next hundred years the Northern Mong Empire will be unable to reclaim the land of Outer Sea Mongolia.
