Chapter 17: Let’s Get Started!

“Mom!”

Olivianne watched as her annoying little cousin George ran into the living room at full speed. But he got so worked up

yelling that he tripped over the threshold and ended up sliding on his knees all the way to his mother—ugh… well, that

was fast. Just… his pants didn’t survive.

The two women in the living room were stunned by the scene—especially Olivianne’s mother, Fufu. After all, George had

almost crashed straight into her with that dramatic entrance. Luckily, she dodged just in time.

Olivianne walked into the living room with her usual blank expression. Fufu immediately came to greet her, reaching out

with a worried look and gently touching Olivianne’s head. Then she glanced toward George and gave Olivianne a

concerned look that clearly said, “What happened?”

Meanwhile, George’s own mother, Vinosse, didn’t seem angry at all with her ridiculous son. Instead, she doted on him,

pulling him into her arms while George sobbed loudly. He cried and pointed at Olivianne, shouting:

Seeing her son so upset, Vinosse’s sharp, hostile eyes immediately turned toward Olivianne. However… what surprised

her was that today, Olivianne didn’t show her usual timid reaction. Instead, her poker face was cold—scary even.

Then… suddenly, a holographic System Window popped up in the air.

【Cousin, your noodle soup is ready. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!】

【If it’s not White Elephant brand, I’m not eating it~】

【Mom’s flavor~】

【Mom~ Candlelit Mommy~~】

Okay, seriously—BYD’s damn danmaku barrage, you guys are going to make me laugh to death!

This is too much. What the heck is this, Haojing… crap!

So, just as the intense face-off between Olivianne and her nasty, fat aunt was getting started, the poker-faced girl was

already failing to hold back a smile.

Trying not to laugh was hard enough—but worse, someone had already noticed. Might as well not hold it back. Vinosse

frowned, not understanding how Olivianne could be laughing at a time like this. Of course, she took that as blatant

provocation.

And that… she couldn’t tolerate.

Vinosse patted George’s back, and then finally George, still sobbing, managed to explain what had happened:

“Mom~ Olivianne bullied me, waaah… she yanked my hair, slapped my face, pinned me down for a long time, and she…

“Whoa, whoa, whoa—don’t make it sound like I kidnapped you, okay, young master? Someone who doesn’t know better

might think I tortured you or something. All I did was cover your mouth and ruffle your hair a bit. That was just big sister

me showing love and care to her dear little brother~ tsk tsk…”

Olivianne shook her head casually, like it was just harmless fun between family members. But beside her, Fufu was visibly

shaken. She looked at her daughter’s cool, indifferent face in disbelief, then quickly tugged her sleeve and whispered

anxiously:

“Apologize to your cousin—quickly…”

Fufu’s concern made sense. She knew Vinosse was like a fat snake who would bite down on any weakness and never let

go. If she saw a chance, she’d attack ruthlessly—and wouldn’t stop until she thoroughly humiliated Olivianne.

In the past, Olivianne would’ve definitely listened to her mother. After all, Vinosse had been a source of trauma since her

childhood—her number one psychological shadow and the reason she developed her Poison Tongue Skill. That sadistic

streak of hers? It was practically Vinosse’s legacy. Growing up in such a stifling environment had forced Olivianne to

become what she is.

But today… was different.

Her mother’s anxious urging didn’t make Olivianne waver in the slightest. The blue-haired girl simply smiled, full of

confidence.

After all, she had the advantage of God’s perspective in this game-like world, with a system backing her. Why would

someone like her—system user, powerful, in control—have to cower before a nasty relative because of money?

Across the room, Vinosse noticed Olivianne’s confident smile and began to feel something was off. Why was this brat

suddenly daring to talk back? Her tone even softened a little without realizing it. After a pause, she cuddled her son and

said sarcastically:

“Oh my, George, don’t go copying those people who show no respect to their elders. Sigh~ Now that her wings have

hardened, she’s learning to step all over others, huh? She might as well tear down the roof of the house! Such

ungratefulness. There’s so much work to do at home, but after school she just disappears. In a couple of years, I bet she’ll

come home with a big belly!”

“Sister-in-law, that’s… a bit too much, don’t you think? Xiao An’s not that kind of frivolous girl!”

Before Olivianne could even speak, Fufu suddenly spoke up for her, unable to hold back. Olivianne turned her head to

look and saw her mother glaring furiously at Vinosse. She—

【Wow, maybe Mom’s trying to take the heat so the streamer doesn’t get attacked in chat?】

【Or maybe she’s really angry. Who could stay calm hearing their daughter insulted like that?】

【Such a great, gentle mom. I love her~】

【This fat aunt is so foul-mouthed. Gross.】

【Support the streamer wiping out this toxic relative—do it fast!】

Seeing the danmaku commentary, Olivianne finally began to realize why her always-submissive mother had suddenly

spoken up to defend her. Still, there was no way she’d let her mom bear the fallout.

The blue-haired girl quickly stepped in front of her mother with a few strides. She yawned, covered her mouth, and lazily

said:

“Me? Well, I went to watch the fun today~ There was a big play in the school auditorium, and I had a pretty important

role, too~ Oh, and it’s funny—George is in kindergarten and I’m in middle school, but our school dismissal times are the

same, aren’t they? So why was he hanging around the school for so long, huh~? He left the gate with me, you know. Isn’t

that interesting~?”

“You—!”

Faced with Olivianne’s biting sarcasm, Vinosse’s bloodshot eyes flew wide open in rage. She was about to shout

something back—but Olivianne immediately dropped her smile, her face turning ice-cold. Then she snapped back,

straight and to the point:

“Don’t be so hasty! Oh, right—those nut shells you left for me to crack? Do them yourself. That tedious job—no pay, just a

meal—and I’ve got to practice magic every day after school. Who has time to help you? And don’t ask my mom to do it

either! Neither of us sees a single coin from you. Go find someone else!”

With that, Vinosse, Fufu, and George all stood frozen in shock.

They couldn’t believe it—someone in this house had actually dared to talk back to Vinosse like that.

Olivianne just smiled at their stunned faces, waiting calmly for her aunt’s reaction…

After all… she could go even harder if she wanted to.
