Chapter 2: My Girlfriend Called Her Boyfriend

“Call your boyfriend. If you played with someone’s feelings, you should apologize.”

I absolutely had to receive an apology.

With a furious expression, I strongly conveyed my will for Joo Hyun to quickly call her boyfriend.

“Ha, this is annoying.”

Joo Hyun said, frowning.

Suddenly, Joo Hyun grabbed her extremely expensive luxury bag with a snap.

And she nervously rummaged through her bag.

Joo Hyun took out her phone from the bag.

Then, she made a call somewhere.

“Uh, Oppa.

Ah…

I was going to finish up and leave, but this Oppa here is telling me you have to apologize.

It seems like you’ll have to come.

Yeah.

Can you come now?

Okay, I understand.

I’ll wait.”

Joo Hyun talked on the phone with the man I assumed was that b*stard.

Joo Hyun spoke carefully, trying not to displease that b*stard.

And she soon hung up the phone.

“Wait until Oppa comes.”

Joo Hyun said, glaring at me nervously.

Then she sat back down.

“Ah, how childish, really! Couples date and break up, what’s with doing all this?”

“Even if you were going to jump ship, you should have at least ended things cleanly with me first. You crossed the line.”

“Ah, I really wanted to end this quietly, this is so annoying.”

Joo Hyun showed great irritation towards me.

“Who do you think is more annoyed right now? You, who cheated as you pleased and unilaterally dumped me with a text? Or me, who was stabbed in the back?”

“Yeah, who asked you to do that?”

“What…?”

“Did I force you to protect me?”

“Who was it who cried and sought me out after being judged as E-class?

Wasn’t it you?

Why did you contact me?

You, who kept putting up walls even when I was a normal person, and even when I confessed again after awakening as a C-class Hunter, why did you contact me as soon as you were judged as E-class?

Why did you date me after you were judged as an E-class Hunter, when you absolutely wouldn’t date me before?

Because there was no one who would protect you for free, and you had no money for security fees.

Because you were in a situation where you would die if I didn’t save you.

You knew that I was your only hope and sought me out, right?”

“So I forced you to protect me? You said you liked me, and you protected me because you wanted to. I never forced you, did I?”

“You? Ha, you’re not even calling me ‘Oppa’ anymore. Hey. If I had known you were this kind of b*ch, I would never have protected you.”

“Then how could I keep calling you ‘Oppa’ when you’re acting so pathetic? If you had ability, would I have gone to another man?

You should blame yourself for not having ability, why are you yelling at me?

What? You’ll make me regret it?

How laughable.

Let’s hear it.

How are you, someone like you, going to do it?

You know who my boyfriend is, and you can still say that?”

Joo Hyun said, panting and continuing her words.

“Don’t make me laugh.

If you even brush past my Oppa, you’ll be finished in one hit.

Don’t get hurt by needlessly showing off about making me regret it or whatever, just go quietly if you want to preserve your life.

Please don’t do anything and just end it quietly here right now.

If you say you’ll just go, I’ll tell Oppa he doesn’t have to come right now.”

“No? I can’t do that. Not until I receive a sincere apology from you and that person.”

“Ah…”

Joo Hyun covered her head with one hand, as if she had a headache.

“You’re not going to back down quietly, are you?”

Joo Hyun asked me resolutely.

“Yes.”

I answered Joo Hyun’s question strongly.

“Ah, I don’t know anymore.

I didn’t want to call my busy Oppa just because of you, it’s a waste of his time.

But since you’re acting this annoying, I have no choice.

Do as you wish.

You brought this upon yourself.

Just wait until Oppa arrives.

Let’s see if you can say the same things about making me regret it or wanting an apology in front of Oppa.”

Joo Hyun said, giving me a scornful look.

I hardened my face and endured silently, so as not to be provoked by Joo Hyun’s taunting.

About 15 minutes passed like that.

Suddenly, I heard the sound of people murmuring on the first floor of the cafe.

“Oppa must be here.”

Joo Hyun said, a smile blooming on her face.

“That’s our Oppa, who receives attention from everyone in the world just by appearing somewhere.

It’s a world of difference from you, who is only C-class.

I don’t understand why you’re causing such a fuss to get an apology from someone like that.

You know how amazing of a person he is, right?

There’s no one in Korea who doesn’t know him, right?

I thought you would just disappear on your own if I told you I decided to date someone like that.

I really didn’t expect you to react like this.

Are you really confident?

Trying to get an apology from someone like that?”

Unlike the quiet second floor where only the two of us were, the sound of people gathering on the first floor started getting louder.

Joo Hyun continued speaking in disbelief.

“You hear that?

That’s the status of an S-class Hunter.

You know, don’t you?

What kind of existence S-class Hunters are.

Even people passing by outside the cafe right now must be coming into the cafe to see his face even once more after seeing our Oppa has arrived.

How are you going to make me regret dating someone like that?

Just you? I’m really at a loss for words.”

Joo Hyun said, rolling her eyes at me in disbelief and continuing to speak.

“Perhaps you can’t fully grasp it because you’re daring to sit across from me like this just because I was your ex-girlfriend, but even though it hasn’t been announced yet, I’m also an S-class Hunter.

After this meeting, I’m an S-class who is so far above you that you’ll never even be able to meet me one-on-one like this for the rest of your life.

How dare someone like you pick a fight with me about making me regret it or not?

It’s fcking annoying. You should know your place.”

Joo Hyun said, giving me a look that seemed deliberately meant to offend and mock me.

“Having to call my S-class boyfriend here just because I’m being held back by a mere C-class ex-boyfriend.

Do you think this makes sense? Because of someone like you? Who do you think you are?”

“I’ll talk to that person, so you just shut up now.”

I said, unconsciously clenching my jaw, angered.

The sound of people murmuring reached its peak and echoed throughout the entire second floor of the cafe.

Step.

Step.

And then, I heard the sound of someone climbing the stairs.

I turned my head towards the stairs.

And I looked at the stairs with a serious expression.

Step.

Step.

The sound of climbing the stairs got closer and closer, and gradually, a man’s face began to appear.

A man with an expression that conveyed arrogance and overwhelming intimidation.

That man, With a displeased, frowning, terrifying expression, Step by step,

Was climbing the stairs to the second floor.

With each step the man took up the stairs, the overwhelming physique of him, an S-class Hunter, also gradually began to be revealed.

Step.

Step.

The man completely reached the second floor.

He stopped for a moment after climbing all the stairs.

An immense pressure radiated from him, standing rigidly.

The man looked directly at me with terrifying eyes.

And then he slowly began to approach me.

Tap tap tap tap.

As the man was about to approach me, I heard the sound of someone quickly running up the stairs.

The man, who heard that sound, stopped his steps for a moment.

The cafe manager ran up to the second floor of the cafe.

“There were too many customers trying to enter the cafe to see the Representative, so I asked for their understanding and temporarily closed the shop.”

The cafe manager said with a very nervous face, bowing and speaking deferentially to the man who looked much younger than himself.

“You did well.”

The man replied arrogantly with one hand in his suit pants pocket.

“Is there anything else you need?”

The manager asked again, bowing and carefully asking the man.

“Don’t let anyone come up to the second floor. I’ll pay generously for the cost.”

The man said, with one hand still in his pocket, and extending his other hand to make a gesture as if blocking the stairs to the second floor.

His voice was still arrogant.

“Ah, I understand. Uh, uh! You mustn’t come up!”

The manager replied respectfully to the man.

And then he frantically began to stop the people trying to push their way up to the second floor to see the man.

“Then, please have a good talk.”

The manager earnestly stopped the people.

Even while busy stopping people, the manager bowed his head respectfully to the man and greeted him.

The man nodded curtly, as if he understood.

“Ha…”

The man slightly tilted his neck and rotated it threateningly, as if slightly annoyed.

And then he looked into my eyes again.

Then,

Step.

Step.

While glaring into my eyes, the man approached directly in front of me with the sound of his dress shoes.

“Hello. Kim Joon Hyuk, Representative of the BM Guild.”

And then, with one hand still in his pocket, he looked down at me, who was sitting, and offered a handshake as he spoke.

In contrast to the polite action of introducing himself and offering a handshake, the man’s eyes were fierce, as if trying to overwhelm me.

“Kwon Geon.”

I slowly stood up from my seat.

Then I shook hands with the man and spoke with strength.

A heavy atmosphere flowed between the two of us.

A fierce energy filled the eyes looking at each other.

From the appearance alone, it looked like they were shaking hands amicably.

But the atmosphere was hostile, to the point where it wouldn’t have been strange if something happened immediately.

The intimidation he exuded was tremendous, as if trying to crush me.

But to not be intimidated by his momentum at all, I also looked straight into his eyes.

“I’ve heard a lot from Joo Hyun.”

His words were gentlemanly.

But his expression was subtly looking down on me.

I kept my expression firm so as not to be shaken by his provocation at all.

“I’ve seen you a lot in the media.”

And I replied, maintaining a confident attitude, without any sign of being intimidated by an S-class Hunter.
