As a water-based creature, the Water Spirit took heavy damage from lightning.

But an A-rank monster was still A-rank.

Even weakened to barely B-rank, Meng Linna’s cheap holy seal couldn’t unleash the spell’s full power.

The Water Spirit was battered but alive.

One wasn’t enough?

Fine, another.

Meng Linna raised her holy seal, chanting again.

Normally, she avoided spells above her rank.

Not just because of Tribunal summons.

Her mana couldn’t handle them.

Thunder Pillar, a high-damage spell, had already drained half her mana.

It also damaged her seal.

The shoddy seal, bought from a street stall, was bare-bones.

Fine for basic spells.

But last time’s Thunder Axe nearly broke it.

Now it had permanent damage.

‘Never buying cheap junk again!’

She prayed the seal held.

She cast Thunder Pillar again.

As if proving it wasn’t trash, the seal glowed brighter than before.

It held.

Still reeling from the first strike, the Water Spirit didn’t react.

Meng Linna’s second lightning hit dead-on.

But it didn’t go down quietly.

In its final moment, it unleashed a water blast.

Compared to the one that floored Na Naya, this was weak.

It hit Meng Linna head-on, only scraping her hand.

Blood trickled.

The Water Spirit, struck twice, lost resistance.

It dissolved, leaving a translucent cube behind.

“What’s this?”

Meng Linna reached for it.

The moment she touched it, the cube sank into her body.

“?”

After initial panic, she noticed changes.

Her mana pool felt larger.

Her recovery speed was faster—still slow, but doubled from before.

Was it her imagination, or was her affinity for water stronger?

Unable to deal with the cube now, she turned to Na Naya.

No question, Na Naya was the MVP.

Meng Linna’s all-out effort finished the Water Spirit.

But Na Naya had worn it down first, letting her steal the kill.

She glanced around.

The Water Spirit left no loot.

Just the cube she absorbed.

Na Naya got nothing…

Meng Linna silently apologized to her.

She approached to check Na Naya’s condition.

The rank gap was brutal.

Na Naya was in rough shape.

Being knocked out was the least of it.

Her nun outfit, usually pristine, was shredded.

Holes everywhere.

It looked like some kinky costume.

“Looks painful…”

Meng Linna eyed the countless small cuts on Na Naya’s arms, uneasy.

‘She’ll be fine, right?’

She checked Na Naya’s breathing.

Good, still alive.

As usual, Meng Linna pulled out alcohol.

She cleaned Na Naya’s wounds, readying a healing spell.

“Mid-tier Recovery!” (TN: One to one translation of the name of the spell lol)

The seal played a cruel joke.

It survived two Thunder Pillars.

But a healing spell broke it.

It exploded in her hand, shattering into pieces.

“Ha…”

She didn’t heal anyone.

Instead, she hurt herself.

Blood dripped onto Na Naya’s face.

Panicked, Meng Linna wiped it with a tissue.

She disinfected her left hand with alcohol.

“Hiss…”

As a healer, Meng Linna felt a patient’s pain for the first time.

She only had two tricks: disinfect with alcohol, heal with the seal.

Without it, she couldn’t cast spells.

“Never buying stall junk again.”

The seal’s shards had embedded in her palm.

Removing them hurt like hell.

Her wounds were minor.

Just scrapes from the Water Spirit and the seal’s explosion.

They’d heal on their own.

She could buy a new seal in Yanan and heal later.

But Na Naya’s condition was dire.

Without quick treatment, she risked bleeding out or going into shock.

“No helping it.”

Meng Linna thought of a risky plan.

She came to test the Marigold Potion, right?

Now she had two perfect test subjects.

Skipping rats, straight to humans.

She pulled out a bottle, uncapped it, and drank.

The five-gold-coin recipe didn’t let her down.

Her palm’s wounds healed fast.

Her skin sealed, leaving no trace.

“I’m saving your life here!”

Meng Linna propped up Na Naya, pouring potion into her mouth.

“Hope you’ll forgive me later.”

Na Naya, still unconscious, couldn’t respond.

She’d have no memory of this.

Choking on the potion, she didn’t wake.

But her wounds slowly began to heal.
