X
Early this morning… in Aisilis’s forest villa.
The maids were unusually gathered in the great hall, each with a somewhat heavy expression on their faces. In front of them, Vivian was lying unconscious on the floor.
Vivian was covered in blood, her clothes completely stained red. Her chest and limbs all had wounds from being pierced by a sharp sword. Lirabed was squatting beside Vivian, examining her injuries. Although her face showed impatience, the movements of her hands were not the least bit careless.
After a long time, Lirabed stood up and said with a sigh,
“There’s nothing to be done. To be honest, it’s a miracle she’s still alive. Multiple fractures all over her body. And with the sword wounds on her hands and thighs, even if she’s healed, she’ll just be a cripple.”
“Can’t we use magic to restore her?” Yuna, who was standing to the side, asked.
Pouting, Lirabed looked at Vivian lying on the floor.
“It’s useless. Even if we use healing magic, it can only heal the wounds. But her hands and feet will have no strength at all. She can only lie in bed for the rest of her life, which is why I said she’d be a cripple even if she’s healed.”
Glancing at Pendragon, who was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, a ‘do not approach’ look on her face, her eyes closed in silence, Lirabed said to her,
“Aren’t you going to take a look? After all, she is your biological sister.”
“To have ended up like this, she can only blame her own lack of strength. There’s no one else to blame.” A cold tone, as if speaking of someone who had nothing to do with her.
“You really are ruthless. Well, since you don’t care, it matters even less to me.”
With a relaxed expression, Lirabed walked to the sofa and sat down without a care.
“To be honest, I was afraid you’d ask me to take care of her.”
Lirabed lifted her head slightly, pointing at Vivian with her chin.
“You should restrain your behavior here.” Yuna, who was beside her, stared at Lirabed sitting on the sofa and said with a serious expression.
“What does it matter? The young lady isn’t here anyway. If you’re always so serious, your skin will look old.”
Yuna’s face looked a little unsightly. In fact, since Vivian was brought here, her expression had not been good. Now, Lirabed’s nonchalant attitude seemed to have angered the head maid.
“Lirabed, I hope you’re clear about your status.” Yuna used a warning tone.
“Hey~ hey, is this really okay? To fall out with me in front of so many people.” Lirabed still had a nonchalant look, her feet even on the coffee table in front of the sofa.
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing, just a little curious about why Vivian ended up like this.”
“You…” Her pupils dilated sharply, and Yuna instantly showed a terrifying killing intent. But at this moment, she was interrupted by a familiar voice…
“I’m also very curious about why things turned out like this.”
Upon hearing this voice, all the maids looked at the second-floor railing in surprise. Aisilis was resting her hands on the railing, her head lazily on her hands…
“Miss.” The maid corps was very excited. After all, not everyone could see Aisilis every day. They knelt on one knee, their right hand clenched into a fist and placed on their chest. They were clearly maids, yet they performed a knight’s salute. No matter how you looked at it, it was very strange.
Aisilis stretched, let out a cute yawn, and walked down the stairs step by step.
She walked straight to the sofa and sat down, ignoring Lirabed who was saluting beside the sofa. Aisilis picked up a book that was on the coffee table and started to read. While Aisilis was reading, no one dared to move a single inch.
After a while, Aisilis seemed to be tired of it. She casually threw the book aside and said to herself,
“Isn’t there a book that teaches a wife how to see through her husband’s mind?”
“Lirabed.”
“Eh… here.” Suddenly being called by Aisilis, Lirabed was a little flustered, but she quickly calmed down.
“From now on, you’ll be in charge of my personal affairs.”
“Eh?” She looked up at Aisilis in surprise, seemingly a little puzzled as to why Aisilis would make such a decision.
“What’s wrong? You’re not willing?” A smile hung on the corner of her mouth as she spoke gently to Aisilis.
“No… it’s my honor.” Lirabed answered excitedly. Who cares why? Right now, this was definitely a good opportunity for her, an opportunity to stay by Aisilis’s side.
Pendragon, who was beside them, heard the conversation between Aisilis and Lirababed, and her clenched right fist tightened even more.
“Pendragon.”
“Yes!” Being called by Aisilis, Pendragon responded immediately.
“From now on, you will protect me.” Aisilis played with the red hair of Lirabed beside her, saying words that made Pendragon ecstatic.
“Yes!” After giving a standard salute, Pendragon felt her whole body trembling… finally, she was about to stand by her side.
“Then that’s settled. I still have to go to the academy. After you’re ready, you two will leave Erisburg with me.”
“Yes!”
“Understood.”
“Miss…”
Aisilis, who had stood up and was about to leave, was stopped by Yuna.
“Miss… why?” Yuna knew very well that although she had not been explicitly dismissed, as the head maid, taking care of Aisilis’s personal daily life and security had always been her job. Now that these two jobs had been given to others, she could no longer stay by Aisilis’s side, only holding the title of head maid. In other words, she had been dismissed.
Yuna’s whole body was trembling. She couldn’t believe how she would spend the days without being able to stay by Aisilis’s side.
Walking up to Yuna, Aisilis squatted down, touched her face, and whispered,
“Don’t you know the reason? Although I thought about getting rid of you, I’ll let you go since things turned out well this time.”
After speaking, Aisilis stood up and walked out the door without looking back, not once glancing at Vivian lying on the floor.
As for Yuna, of course she knew what Aisilis was talking about. That day, after she had told Vivian to go back to her room, she hadn’t seen Aisilis. At that time, Aisilis already knew everything.
“Yuren Xing…” Her eyes filled with hatred, Yuna’s clenched fists made a ‘creaking’ sound.
“Tsk tsk, what a pity.” Lirabed walked past Yuna and said sarcastically.
Lirabed was in a very good mood, and even seeing Vivian lying on the floor didn’t disgust her as much.
“Then, one of you take care of her. I should go and pack, the young lady’s room.” With that, Lirabed happily went upstairs towards Aisilis’s room.
And Pendragon, after glancing at Vivian, chased after Aisilis. For her, she was always fully prepared, no matter when.
The maids in the great hall left one after another, and Vivian was also carried away. Only Yuna was left in the great hall.
“Yuren Xing… Yuren Xing…” She called Yuren Xing’s name over and over again. Yuna wished she could tear him apart alive right now.
“I won’t give up…” Standing up straight, Yuna walked out of the great hall with a vacant look in her eyes…
Aisilis, walking on the road, was in a very bad mood. It’s not that she hadn’t thought about getting rid of Yuna. To be honest, any existence that would or might endanger Yuren Xing would be erased by Aisilis.
But over the years, all the affairs of the maid corps and all the industries and assets under Aisilis’s name, as well as some ‘dirty’ work, had been managed by Yuna alone. That’s right, she herself was not good at these things, but in Yuna’s hands, these things became quite simple. She only needed to sit at home and do nothing, and her assets would continue to increase.
At this stage, Yuna’s existence was undoubtedly still necessary, because she was not good at managing these trivial matters. As for the others in the maid corps? In Aisilis’s heart, they were all idiots on the same level as Vivian. Why not hand them over to Yuren Xing? Not to mention Yuren Xing’s rebellious psychology of yearning for freedom. Aisilis didn’t want anything to disturb him. For Aisilis, Yuren Xing only needed to madly tell her of his love every day and bear the feedback of her own love. As for the rest, Aisilis didn’t want him to think about it at all.
Without paying attention to Pendragon who was hiding behind her, Aisilis walked towards the academy in a very bad mood…
Time returns to the present. After I finished eating at the inn, I found that I had no money. Although this inn was ‘my’ family’s business, it was meaningless if no one knew my identity…
“So, someone will come back to pay the bill later. Can I stop washing dishes now?”
I washed the dishes while talking to the waiter beside me.
‘Crack~’
The waiter, holding a leather whip and constantly cracking it, said to me with a dark and gloomy face.
“Less talk, don’t even think about leaving until you’ve washed all these dishes. Don’t you know where you are, dining and dashing? I’ve never seen anyone like you, coming to the same place to dine and dash twice in a row.”
“Sigh…” I sighed. I don’t know when Aisilis will be back. I can only resign myself to my fate and continue washing the dishes…
By the time I had washed the 128th dish, Aisilis finally came back…
