“A map?” Rachel looked in surprise at the familiar image.
“A map of Sinhe City?”
“Only a partial one,” Andrew said.
“It’s just the limit of what I can reach. But this map is variable. As long as the magical traces haven’t dissipated, I can continue to follow the source.”
“Dissipated?” Rachel asked.
“Is there a time limit on this? This… spell?”
“It can last for 24 hours,” Andrew nodded.
“It has to be calculated from the time of the incident.”
“Aren’t you also from the Astral Academy?” Rachel nudged Yuhui with her elbow.
“How come I’ve never seen you use such a miraculous spell?”
“I’m from the Psionics College, I have nothing to do with magic,” Yuhui said lightly.
“Oh, right, I forgot the Astral Academy also teaches psionics,” Rachel shook her head.
“After all, when people mention the Astral Academy, the first thing they think of is its magic major, not psionics.”
“Do you know where this is?” Yuhui looked at the page in Andrew’s hand and pointed to the brightest spot, asking Rachel.
“I’m very familiar with this street,” Rachel recognized it at a glance.
“This is Rollins Avenue, about five or six kilometers from where we are.”
“Should we go now?” she asked.
“Let Diana do your makeup first,” Yuhui said.
“I can’t drive my car. Blake has seen my car.”
Andrew reminded them, “My spell is very sensitive to the source of the tracking. When we get there, the search range will be further narrowed. But not by much. The ‘Arsonist’s’ spellcasting methods are very sophisticated, and the magical traces he left behind are too ethereal to be clearly located.”
“But I still think a 30-mu area is too big…” Rachel whispered.
Actually, this range was already very small, but the target this time was not an ordinary person, but Blake Morton, who was proficient in magic and had psionic abilities.
For them, this range was still not small enough.
‘Besides, how could Blake possibly choose me? He might not even see me!’ Rachel complained in her heart.
But she had no better ideas now.
Without Andrew, they would still be running around like headless flies.
Now that Andrew had greatly narrowed the search range, it was already a great help.
When the time came, with Andrew helping to search within the range, she could also contribute a little.
In any case, the situation was much better than before.
‘Let’s hope everything goes smoothly.’
“Buzz buzz buzz.”
A phone vibrated near the four of them.
Two seconds later, Rachel belatedly came to Yuhui’s side, reached into the bag, took out her phone, and glanced at it after unlocking it.
This glance made her freeze for another two seconds.
“Andrew, let me confirm with you again,” Rachel squinted at her phone screen, then glanced at Andrew’s map.
“Can you be 100% sure that Blake Morton is near Rollins Avenue right now?”
“Confirmed, unless he left the church and then left a jamming spell there a few hours in advance. But I don’t think he had that much time to deal with these things.”
“Then I don’t think I need makeup. Let’s go now, right now.”
Rachel held out her phone to show the other three people.
On the screen was a text message from Rick Lewis.
A silver SUV sped past the front of Lishui Avenue, its blurred figure indicating that the driver was definitely not obeying the speed limit.
The daytime running lights emitted a dazzling white light, and with the occasional honking of the horn, the car sped through the urban roads of Sinhe like a rampaging beast.
Rachel sat in the back seat, staring at her phone screen, which showed her call history.
She had already called Rick five times, all unanswered, which gave Rachel a bad feeling.
The sixth call also went unanswered.
Rachel had no choice but to give up.
She opened the weather forecast on her phone.
“Temperature 28°C, air humidity 10%, apparent temperature 26°C… a blue alert for strong winds? Is it going to be windy?”
Suddenly, a feeling of dizziness and nausea washed over her.
The symptoms of motion sickness forced Rachel to quickly turn off her phone and close her eyes.
“Are you sure what that Rick told you is true?” asked Andrew, who was in the driver’s seat.
Rachel and her group were riding in Inquisitor Andrew’s car.
The car’s tires and body were covered in a lot of mud and water stains.
Perhaps the owner didn’t usually take care of the car; or, it was just because they had driven for a whole day after a heavy rain the day before, and the owner didn’t have time to wash it.
“There’s no way he’s lying to me,” Rachel emphasized.
“But it’s possible he was deceived. But then again, the location you mentioned and the location he gave me are highly consistent. It’s almost impossible to be a coincidence. Unless you tell me that you’re not confident in your ability.”
“Understood,” Andrew said.
“I’ll try to go a little faster.”
“You’re already fast enough,” Rachel said, her eyes tightly closed, her brows furrowed.
“I’m already very dizzy. Don’t go any faster. I, I really can’t take it.”
“Time is tight, you’ll have to bear it!” Andrew was unmoved and accelerated the car again.
In less than ten minutes, they arrived at their destination—the deserted factory on the west side of Rollins Avenue.
When they arrived near the deserted factory, Rachel was the first to get out of the car, squatting down and holding her head.
“I want to puke…”
Yuhui followed closely behind, looking at Rachel who was “hugging her head and squatting in defense.”
For some reason, he felt that the current Rachel inexplicably resembled a wronged rabbit.
“Do you need a moment?” Andrew said to Rachel.
“Three minutes. We’ll go in after three minutes.”
“Are you okay, Rachel?” Diana walked up to Rachel and asked with concern.
“You look like you’re about to cry.”
“No, I just need to take a few deep breaths. I feel a little sick…” Rachel maintained her “hugging her head and squatting in defense” posture, her brows tightly furrowed.
“Rest a little longer,” Yuhui came to the back of the car, opened the trunk, took out the Thompson submachine gun he had put in earlier, and checked the chamber.
“One more thing, if possible,” Yuhui said, “capture the ‘Arsonist’ alive. I want him alive.”
“Okay,” Andrew also began to prepare.
He drew the short-handled axe from his waist with his right hand and took out a transparent glass bottle from his pocket with his left hand.
It contained a transparent liquid.
He left the book in the car because he wouldn’t need it in a fight.
“There’s an unclean presence inside, and this presence is constantly drifting outwards. The source is very likely the ‘Arsonist’,” he emphasized.
“We should have come to the right place.”
Diana was silent, her hand tightly pressed on the wooden box at her waist, her index finger on a button.
A minute later, Rachel suddenly stood up, pounded her forehead with her fist a few times, and said:
“It’s fine, let’s go in.”
