Chapter 28: The Silver-Haired Savior and the Scattered Clones

Following the deafening explosion, countless individuals pulled out their phones, eager to document the unfolding spectacle.

Even those stranded on the battlefield, like General John, gazed intently at the sky, attempting to sear the awe-inspiring scene into their minds.

News reporters, who had moments ago been scrambling for their lives, now frantically retrieved their cameras and microphones, determined to capture the unbelievable sight before them.

Both the nuclear detonation and the enigmatic silver-haired girl were destined to ignite global discussion. Securing any precious footage would guarantee an influx of news traffic, making it an effortless gain!

Upon learning of the incident, officials in M-country hastily dispatched reconnaissance planes to investigate.

From their perspective, if the silver-haired girl had perished alongside the nuclear weapon, it would be the most favorable outcome.

This would eliminate a potential, unknown threat, as they harbored no desire to tolerate any power beyond their control emerging in the world.

Thus, the official desperately wished for news of the girl’s demise, utterly disregarding the numerous ancient behemoths still roaming various parts of the globe.

However, what if the silver-haired girl were still alive?

If a nuclear bomb proved ineffective, what other means could possibly subdue her?

As everyone frantically filmed the sky, a miracle descended.

Amidst a surge of silver-white energy, the dense smoke at the explosion’s epicenter instantly dissipated.

Every speck of radioactive dust was utterly annihilated by the impact of the silver-white power.

The sky swiftly returned to its former tranquility, as if the nuclear blast had never occurred.

Yet, the people present had no mind for this strange phenomenon; their attention was entirely fixated on the blurred figure at the heart of the sunlight.

It was the same girl who had collided with the nuclear bomb.

She was alive!

Witnessing that silver silhouette, General John felt a surge of heartfelt joy, and the soldiers beside him erupted in thunderous cheers.

At this very moment, without a doubt, every eye was drawn to the mysterious girl.

Feeling the intense concentration of gazes, Lin Ling herself felt a touch of awkwardness. Fortunately, the populace did not share her sentiment.

‘This is nothing short of a divine miracle,’ was the prevailing thought in the minds of nearly everyone present.

Most were utterly dumbfounded, staring blankly at the scene. Only a few reacted quickly, scrambling to record what would surely become an eternal image.

As Lin Ling gradually descended, people began to discern more details of her form.

Though distance still rendered camera footage blurry, only her strikingly silver long hair and her dashing black-and-white formal attire were clearly visible.

The outfit appeared to be a fusion of a swallow-tailed coat and an overcoat, with the swallowtail replaced by a cape. It was adorned with glowing, dark gold patterns that imbued it with an even greater sense of majesty.

Other details remained too far to distinguish clearly.

Her face, the aspect they were most curious about, remained shrouded in mystery.

Nevertheless, in their hearts, titles such as ‘God,’ ‘Goddess,’ ‘Savior,’ and ‘Angel’ had already become Lin Ling’s indelible labels.

Lin Ling’s prestige was soaring dramatically.

“Whoosh! Whoosh!” Some ill-timed sounds echoed through the sky.

Two M-country fighter jets rapidly approached Lin Ling, though they showed no signs of opening fire.

Sensing the swiftly closing M-country fighter jets, Lin Ling felt a flicker of displeasure but chose not to engage.

‘Are they trying to provoke me, force me to shoot them down, and then stir up public opinion? Are they brain-dead? Sometimes, I truly don’t understand what’s inside these M-country politicians’ heads.’

“It’s time to go.”

Unwilling to linger any longer, Lin Ling transformed directly into silver specks of light, gradually vanishing from everyone’s sight.

A stylish exit! Perfect!

Above the Pacific Ocean, numerous silver light particles materialized out of thin air.

They swiftly reassembled, and within moments, a stunning silver-haired girl appeared over the vast expanse of the sea.

It was Lin Ling, who had come to collect Star Sources.

However, before beginning her collection, she paused to admire her dashing formal attire.

Upon closer inspection of her outfit, Lin Ling found everything acceptable, save for the black thigh-high stockings.

The white outer jacket, resembling a hybrid of a swallow-tailed coat and an overcoat, was embedded with numerous magic arrays for reconnaissance and enhanced perception.

Her black fingerless gloves and bracers also stored various types of elemental magic arrays.

From the emerald-green gem set in her black chest jacket, a comforting gas continuously emanated, promoting the recovery of spiritual power.

After carefully examining this exclusive formal attire, Lin Ling’s admiration for Sister Fen, whom she had never met, grew significantly.

‘Knowing my perception was weak, she prepared magic arrays to enhance it.’

‘Knowing my recovery was slow, she prepared gems to boost its efficiency.’

‘Knowing I had no elemental affinity, she prepared so many elemental magic spells for me, to cope with all kinds of emergencies.’

‘(Though that locator spell on the belt… felt a bit unnecessary.)’

Regardless, she truly was a thoughtful older sister!

Though Lin Ling wondered how Sister Fen knew all these details about her.

‘But if she’s such a wonderful sister, why does Bisika dislike her so much? No, it’s not quite dislike. How should I put it? More like a mixture of disdain and fear.’

‘I really don’t understand. I’ll ask her when I get back.’

“Now, let’s collect the Star Sources.”

With these words, Lin Ling extended her right hand, forming a fist. The next moment, a large amount of deep blue spiritual power converged in her palm.

As she had expected, it was a water-attribute Star Source. This explained why the shark had moved in this direction earlier.

However, it had also caused trouble for humans along the way.

‘They brought it upon themselves!’

But since she was already out, she decided to collect all the remaining eleven Star Sources to prevent any further complications.

Additionally, she might as well deal with the more volatile giant beasts. If incidents like today’s kept occurring periodically, it might be mistaken for a staged performance by those with ulterior motives.

That would be a self-defeating outcome.

“Then let’s get moving! I have a game scheduled tonight, and I don’t like being late.”

Lin Ling’s body once again radiated a vast amount of Sacred Spirit Power. This unique spiritual energy began to converge at multiple points, forming dozens of silver-haired girls identical to her in appearance and attire.

An ordinary person would be utterly unable to distinguish between them.

These were Spirit Clones, created using the Sacred Spirit Power from the Battle Sovereign’s origin. They drew a minuscule portion of the main body’s power and functioned like remote puppets, with vision, senses, and touch all connected to the original. These clones could reach a maximum strength of the eighth tier, making them incredibly useful.

Their only drawback, if one had to name one, was their inability to use Authority.

The batch of clones Lin Ling created now possessed only seventh-tier strength, which was more than sufficient for Blue Star.

Lin Ling could now skillfully create and manipulate her clones, a far cry from her initial awkwardness. The next moment, dozens of clones scattered, soaring towards the other ancient behemoths and hidden Star Sources across Blue Star.

As for Lin Ling’s main body, after a series of intense internal struggles, she ultimately decided to return home for a bath. For some reason, after being covered in the nuclear fallout’s dust, she couldn’t shake the feeling of being utterly filthy.

If she didn’t take a bath, she would feel uncomfortable all over!

Sometimes, being a clean freak truly was a hassle.
