Chapter 3: First Meeting with the Guy Who Stole My Girlfriend

He and I were still holding hands.

I didn’t avoid his gaze.

I was looking at him with the most confident eyes possible.

“Please sit down.”

He let go of the hand he was holding with mine.

He still had one hand in his pocket.

With his other hand, he pointed to my chair.

And then he spoke to me in an arrogant yet intimidating manner.

I glared at him for a moment.

Then I sat down in my seat.

He walked over to where Joo Hyun was sitting.

And sat down next to Joo Hyun.

“Oppa, you’re here?”

Joo Hyun smiled sweetly at him and said affectionately.

“Yeah.”

“I’m sorry for calling you when you’re busy.”

Joo Hyun made a playfully sad expression at him.

And then spoke to him flirtatiously.

“Of course I had to come.”

He made an expression that seemed satisfied with Joo Hyun’s flirtatiousness.

And then, he boldly put his arm around Joo Hyun’s shoulder as he spoke.

His arm wrapped around Joo Hyun’s shoulder.

Joo Hyun ended up nestled into the man’s embrace.

Joo Hyun smiled shyly.

“So you’re an uncertified C-class Hunter.”

With one arm holding Joo Hyun close, he looked at me.

And then said, slightly sneering.

“That’s not important right now.”

I retorted.

“Being C-class and even an uncertified Hunter, it must be quite difficult to get a job at a guild.”

He ignored my words and continued speaking.

“There’s no particular problem.”

“I heard you can handle magic with bare hands even without a magic weapon? That’s one strange thing.

Since the destructive power is only about C-class, it doesn’t seem particularly useful though.

Well, since you fight with bare hands, it’s good that you don’t have to pay for magic weapon maintenance.

Maybe it’s a good characteristic for someone without money?

Since Mr. Kwon is C-class, your income won’t be great, so it’s fortunate that you have a characteristic that doesn’t cost money.”

“Your girlfriend was talking my ear off saying you’re a busy person.

Let’s stop with the trivial talk and get to the point quickly.

Don’t you have anything to say to me?”

“Well. What kind of words do you want to hear?

Words saying I’ll request sanctions against Mr. Kwon to the Hunter Association for the crime of threatening an S-class Hunter?

Or words telling you not to linger around my girlfriend again?

Or words saying I’ll make sure you can’t enter any guild or any gate from now on?

Words saying if you bother Joo Hyun and me one more time, I’ll kill you without anyone knowing?

What do you want? Choose.”

He spoke to me in a polite yet subtly threatening tone.

“None of the options are what I want. Don’t you have something to apologize for?”

“Apology? What kind?”

He made a brazen expression.

“I heard that you asked Joo Hyun to date you even though you knew she was still dating me.”

Furious, I unconsciously started speaking informally to him.

“Hmm… So?”

He also replied informally to match me.

He asked me, giving me a ‘So what?’ expression.

“I don’t have a problem with you two dating, but doing it that way was wrong.

You should have at least asked her out after she broke up with me properly.

That way, I wouldn’t have been like an idiot, not even knowing my girlfriend was already dating some other guy, laughing and joking, diligently protecting her, and providing for her living expenses.”

“Hmm, I wanted to date Joo Hyun as quickly as possible, why should I have done that?”

“What?”

“Isn’t it a man’s natural desire to embrace a woman he likes and is fond of even one day sooner? What’s wrong with that?

Then, are you saying I should have delayed dating Joo Hyun for a few more days just to be mindful of a mere C-class Hunter like you?

Surely not? Why would I?”

“No matter how much of an S-class Hunter and a guy who’s called a representative you are, there are manners between people, aren’t there?”

“Manners should only be observed in equal relationships, shouldn’t they? Why would I show respect to you?

I’m a person with the ability and status to have whatever I want.

If I wanted to date Joo Hyun quickly, I’m a person who can just have what I want as I wish.

Are you saying I should have delayed what I wanted because of someone like you, who is no different from vermin to me?

Do you really think I should have done that? When you want to eat at home, when you want to sleep, do you worry about the feelings of the bugs crawling around your house?

You don’t, do you? So I just didn’t worry about your feelings, what on earth is your complaint?”

He said intimidatingly.

“What? Vermin? Does a guy called a hero of the nation talk about others like that?

Your combat power might be strong, but it seems you didn’t get any education at all.

S-class Hunter, yes. I admit you’re great.

But there’s no law saying it’s not wrong to just date someone who is already in a relationship just because you’re an S-class Hunter, is there?

And there’s no law saying you can just call others vermin or whatever you want.

So if you’re S-class, you can just act however you want and it’s not wrong at all?

Being S-class just means you have outstanding ability as a Hunter, but you’re also a human being, and if you’re human, there are basic manners you should observe. Am I wrong?”

I continued speaking, angry at him.

“I don’t care about S-class or anything like that, I want an apology as one person to another. You are clearly in the wrong. Admit it.”

I said, looking squarely at him.

“I don’t understand.

Isn’t it the way of the world that a stronger, more capable man gets the woman?

I wanted to have Joo Hyun, so I told her to be mine, and Joo Hyun was simply more attracted to me than you and came to me.

I clearly told Joo Hyun to break up with her ex-boyfriend.

Instead, I just told her she could take her time out of consideration for Joo Hyun.

The reason your pushover life lasted longer was simply because Joo Hyun was tender-hearted and found it hard to easily tell you to break up.”

“Still, you protected her for 3 years, what could she do if she found it hard to say it easily?

Couldn’t you even think about your ex-girlfriend, who must have suffered emotionally even though she was once your girlfriend?

So, in that situation, should I have even forced Joo Hyun, who was finding it hard to speak, to quickly tell her boyfriend she wanted to break up?”

He crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair.

And then he continued speaking.

“Why would I? The feelings of my woman are more important to me, aren’t they?

So I just gave Joo Hyun time until she could fully sort out her feelings and tell you she was breaking up.”

“Ha…”

I was so annoyed that I grabbed my hair with one hand.

And then I sighed deeply.

“So, one guy wanted to date as quickly as possible, so he dated someone even though he knew she had a boyfriend,

And one bi*ch, while already dating the successful man she wanted, pretended nothing was wrong because she didn’t want to be a bad bi*ch again.

And she dated another man and didn’t say anything about it for over 100 days?”

I clicked my tongue in disbelief and continued speaking.

“Ha… Really.

A crazy combo.

You two really found your match. Your levels match perfectly.

And you, you had a girlfriend dating another man, did you think you could just let that happen?”

“It was fun for me though?

Anyway, Joo Hyun’s heart was 100% entirely mine, so some idiot, I don’t know who, still believed she was his woman and was working hard to give her things.

Every time I heard your story from Joo Hyun, I felt a sense of victory and it felt good?”

As if he was very angry, his words and actions also became rougher.

“This b*stard!”

Unable to endure any longer, I slammed the table and stood up.

Joo Hyun looked at me with surprised eyes.

On the other hand, he was calm.

“Sit down. C-class. Who are you showing force to right now? You haven’t forgotten who I am, have you? Do you want to do this with force against force?”

He slowly stood up from his seat.

And then, with his hands in both pockets of his suit pants, he said, glaring fiercely at me.

“Hey, Mr. Kwon Geon. What are you?

There’s no way you don’t know who I am.

All the other S-class Hunters and even the Chairman of the Hunter Association are scared of me.

Even the President and heads of large corporations are mindful of me.

The entire Republic of Korea is at my feet.

But what are you? Do you have something?

Are you perhaps C-class on the outside, but hiding some power I don’t know about?

Are you perhaps the hidden son of an ultra-large foreign guild leader?

Huh?

If you have anything, tell me quickly.

If I hear it and it’s greater than me, I’ll give you the apology you so desire right now.

Do you have something?”

He glared at me for a moment, as if waiting for my reaction.

When I didn’t say anything, he continued speaking.

“Where does a C-class piece of trash with nothing dare to what? Want an apology from me?

C-class Hunter?

You might be a monstrous existence to ordinary people who haven’t awakened.

But to me, you’re not at all?

Why would I apologize to a fcking idiot C-class like you who would just drop dead if I kicked him once?

If you were me, would you apologize, or just kill him?

Mr. Kwon Geon, surely you’re not acting up believing in the ‘No combat between Hunters’ clause, are you?”

Joon Hyuk chuckled as if dumbfounded and continued speaking.

“Yeah. Hunters can’t fight among themselves.

But, so you believe I can’t hit you?

Are you this confident against me believing just that one thing?

Outside the gate, combat between Hunters is indeed prohibited.

But what are you going to do inside a gate?

What will you do if I lose my temper and send my guild members to take care of you without anyone knowing inside a gate when you go to work there, and then close the gate?

Did you not think that far?”

“No matter how much you say that. My intention that you are wrong remains unchanged.

Of course, Joo Hyun is also wrong.

So I must receive an apology from both of you.

Yes. It might be dangerous to mess with a guy like you. But there’s no law saying you can’t even demand an apology from a guy who has power, is there?

So if you don’t have power, should you just bow and say ‘Yes, it’s fine’ your whole life even if someone clearly did something wrong to you and then just die?

I don’t want to live like that though?

I think no matter how powerful a guy is, if he did something he should apologize for, he should apologize.”

I continued speaking with a still confident attitude.

“No matter what power you have, what kind of guy you are, that’s completely unimportant to me. Yes. I’m a weak C-class compared to you.

But regardless of that, I have the right to receive an apology, and the right to request it.”

“How can a mere C-class dare to be this confident towards me? Are you not even afraid of me?”

“Even if it’s before the world’s number 1 Hunter, surpassing you, I have no intention of backing down on what I think is wrong.

So admit you’re wrong and apologize to me.

Kim Joon Hyuk.”

“Geez… What on earth are you believing in to act like this?

Does Mr. Kwon Geon have no sense of his place at all?

I’ve never seen a guy like this before, it’s truly strange.

He has nothing, but his personality is just strong.

If you act up without knowing your place like that, you’ll be finished quickly.”

“Mind your own business and just apologize. Joo Hyun, you apologize too. You are clearly in the wrong.”

“No. Why would I.”

When I said that, Joo Hyun tightly grabbed his hand as he stood.

And then she replied, glaring at me.

“Is your pride incredibly strong? What a truly strange guy.

Okay.

I like it.

As a Hunter against a Hunter, you’re not even worth a punch, but I’ll acknowledge your courage as a man for not being scared of me at all despite being C-class.

Because I’ve never seen a guy like you before.

But I also have dignity, and I have no intention of apologizing to someone like you.

And I don’t think I need to. So instead, let’s resolve this like Hunters.

You hit me once and it’s over.

That’s enough, right?”
