X
October 1st.
The night was as dark as ink.
It was already past ten o’clock at night.
After getting together with Song Jin, although Song Jin was busy with her career, she never came home later than ten.
This situation was very rare.
Duan Yan sat on the bed, preparing to contact Song Jin.
Just then, her phone rang with a call from Song Jin.
On the other end of the line, Song Jin’s voice was tinged with drunkenness.
It seemed the alcohol had already made her tongue a little clumsy.
“Wifey, I might be home a little late tonight. You can go to sleep first.”
Duan Yan’s brows knitted slightly.
‘Not coming back means she went out drinking?’
“What happened?”
Her gentle tone carried a hint of disappointment.
“Because… I have to win…”
Song Jin’s reply sounded a bit weak.
The background noise on her end became boisterous.
It seemed someone was being cheered on, and the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses intertwined, creating a very chaotic environment.
‘What is she doing?’
Duan Yan sighed helplessly.
Then, she dialed the number of her personal assistant, He Xin, to understand the specific situation.
“Why has she drunk so much? What’s going on?”
“Sigh, Miss insisted on drinking. I couldn’t stop her. But don’t worry, the alcohol content isn’t high.”
He Xin’s reply revealed a deep sense of helplessness.
Duan Yan fell silent for a moment in confusion.
“?”
“Someone on set confessed their feelings for Best Actress Duan today, so Miss started a drinking competition with her, and it’s not over yet…”
He Xin’s words carried a trace of a bitter laugh.
Duan Yan couldn’t help but laugh out loud, letting out a sigh of relief.
Such behavior seemed rather childish to her, like a squabble between children, yet it also had a cute stubbornness to it.
“Send me the address.”
When she arrived at the scene, she saw two figures raising their glasses to each other under the lights.
Song Jin was wearing a red dress, a red so dazzling it was like a flame, making her particularly conspicuous in the night.
It was the dress Song Jin had picked from her wardrobe that morning.
Now, under the dim lights, it was even more charming, making it impossible for Duan Yan to look away.
The other person was a newly-risen actress, the female lead in the first movie she had directed after retiring from the screen, named Ning Qingpei.
She was wearing a simple black dress, her long hair draped over her shoulders.
Although her face was already a little flushed, her eyes still revealed determination and defiance.
“You probably can’t take it anymore. I’ve had five more cups than you. Do you admit defeat?” Song Jin looked at Ning Qingpei with hazy eyes, a triumphant smile on her lips.
“No. If I had been born a little earlier, Best Actress Duan would definitely have liked me.”
Ning Qingpei refused to show weakness and drank another five cups in a row.
Although her movements were not as swift as before, they were still firm.
“We’re even now.”
Song Jin opened another new bottle of wine and drank it all in one go.
Ning Qingpei’s eyes widened.
She had been drinking since she was a child and couldn’t believe she would lose to Song Jin.
A flicker of confusion crossed her eyes, as if she were questioning her own tolerance for alcohol.
“This… this isn’t fair…”
“The competition was in your area of expertise. Why won’t you admit defeat?”
A victorious smile hung on Song Jin’s face.
Ning Qingpei was speechless.
The scene fell into a moment of silence.
Just as she was about to argue, the Song Jin opposite her seemed to see something.
Her eyes lit up, and she suddenly ran towards the door.
“Wifey, why are you here?”
Duan Yan replied faintly.
“Came to see a drunkard drink.”
“Hehe.”
Song Jin laughed and threw herself into Duan Yan’s arms, shooting a provocative smile at Ning Qingpei—‘Look, my wife is here to pick me up!’
Duan Yan gently caught Song Jin and turned her gaze to Ning Qingpei.
Ning Qingpei was a little flustered.
Duan Yan had originally wanted to say a few words to Ning Qingpei, but considering Song Jin’s feelings, she decided against it.
She only glanced at her, said a few polite words to the people at the banquet, and then took the drunken Song Jin away.
In the car.
Duan Yan was helping Song Jin remove her makeup, but the drunkard wouldn’t stay still, constantly grabbing her hand and spouting nonsense.
“Tell me, who do you like more in your heart? Her, or me?” Song Jin slurred, pressing for an answer.
“Of course, it’s you.” Duan Yan replied without hesitation, while skillfully and fluidly dabbing makeup remover onto a wet wipe.
“Then do you like her, or do you like me?” Song Jin persisted, asking again.
“Of course, it’s you.” Duan Yan focused on wiping the gloss from Song Jin’s lips, repeating her answer without even looking up.
This question and answer repeated more than ten times, yet neither of them seemed to tire of it, showing not a single trace of impatience.
The alcohol-hazy Song Jin finally revealed a satisfied smile.
Her almond eyes seemed to brim with autumn water, and a trace of moisture still hung on her lips.
She opened her mouth again to ask, “Then between me and her, who is cuter?”
“Of course, it’s you. The cutest ‘kitty’ in the world, and even more so, the one in my heart.” Duan Yan gently poked Song Jin’s forehead, her tone full of doting affection.
Song Jin giggled foolishly for a moment, then suddenly seemed to remember something, and her face fell.
“Liar. You didn’t even kiss me.”
Her almond eyes widened slightly, her dissatisfaction overflowing.
She pouted, as if refusing her was the greatest sin in the world.
Duan Yan was most unable to refuse such a look.
Plus, Song Jin was currently in a state of being a drunkard and a jealous ghost.
She knew that explaining was useless.
She expressed it with action, gently planting a kiss on Song Jin’s cheek.
“Are you satisfied now?”
Duan Yan reached out and pinched Song Jin’s cheek, asking with a smile.
“Satisfied… No, that doesn’t count,” she turned her head, pointing to her moist lips, “Here too!”
Duan Yan helplessly lowered her head, and kissed her lips.
Unexpectedly, Song Jin was already prepared.
She domineeringly stuck out her tongue, attempting a deep kiss.
Song Jin was a bit anxious and directly bit her lip.
Her tongue took the opportunity to sweep deeper into her mouth, devouring the other’s breath.
Duan Yan really disliked this kiss, because the smell of alcohol was also being transferred into her mouth.
But her little one was jealous.
If she didn’t coax her properly, things could get troublesome.
After a long while, Song Jin finally let go.
Duan Yan’s lips were glistening.
She chuckled inwardly.
“Alright, we’ve kissed. You should be good now, right?”
Song Jin obediently leaned against Duan Yan’s shoulder.
As if afraid of being held accountable by Duan Yan, she was incredibly obedient and immediately closed her eyes.
Half an hour later, Duan Yan helped Song Jin into the house.
Song Jin directly lay down on the sofa.
“You stink to high heaven. Go take a shower, or you’re not getting on the bed tonight.”
Song Jin played the rogue.
“I can’t move. I need my wife to help.”
Duan Yan chuckled coldly in her heart and raised an eyebrow:
“Oh? Is that so? I had a surprise prepared for you today, but since you’re drunk, then there’s nothing at all~”
Song Jin did a carp-straightening-its-back-in-the-water move and bounced up.
“I suddenly feel like I have energy again! You’re not allowed to take back the surprise!”
“Hurry up and go.”
“Not together?”
Duan Yan saw the slyness in Song Jin’s eyes and chuckled, “Then you can sleep by yourself tonight.”
Song Jin looked at Duan Yan reluctantly and walked away, unwilling.
Duan Yan returned to the small shower in the bedroom, took a quick shower, and walked to the bedside.
On it lay a dress.
It was a piece of lingerie that Song Jin had bought on her last trip abroad.
Song Jin had always wanted to see her wear it, but this outfit was far too revealing, and Duan Yan had refused.
It was a bright red dress with a high slit and a hollowed-out back.
The wine-red silk was glossy and soft to the touch.
Duan Yan thought about it, and enduring her shyness, she changed into it.
She had never worn such a bold outfit before.
Putting it on, she felt exceptionally self-conscious.
Song Jin quietly walked in and saw the scene, her eyes fixated.
Snow-white, fragrant shoulders, a stunning red dress.
Her legs were restlessly crossed at the slit of the skirt, her eyes holding a spring-water-like gentleness and shyness.
The dress was not yet fully on.
Her bare shoulders and smooth back were particularly eye-catching in the soft light.
Strands of hair fell carelessly, lightly brushing against her skin.
Between being half-covered and half-exposed, it revealed an indescribable allure.
Below her fair neckline, her skin was dotted with a few barely-there red plum blossoms, beautiful and intimate.
Like a lotus bud waiting to bloom, it suddenly opened, its fragrance overflowing, irresistibly charming.
Song Jin’s gaze was direct and fervent.
Duan Yan’s face grew a little hot.
She asked, as if to hide her embarrassment, “Do you like it?”
Song Jin nodded repeatedly, threw herself forward, hugged Duan Yan, and they both fell onto the bed.
“Quickly say it, you love Song Jin the kitty the most…”
Duan Yan chuckled.
She was still jealous.
Song Jin was not happy.
Her fluffy tail harassed Duan Yan’s arm, and her teeth gently bit Duan Yan’s shoulder.
The force was well-controlled, leaving only a faint mark, as if to declare her possessiveness.
“Say it or not? Are you secretly thinking about the little actress?”
Song Jin was sullen.
Duan Yan didn’t speak, just hooked her arm around Song Jin’s neck and offered a gentle kiss.
Song Jin snatched the initiative, lost in the moment.
Afterward, she pretended to complain, “Bad! You actually seduced me!”
“She’s just a female lead in my movie. What are you jealous about? Don’t you know who’s in my heart?”
Duan Yan gently took Song Jin’s hand and placed it over her heart, letting her palm feel the silent confession.
“Then you’re not allowed to cast her as the female lead. And why didn’t you ask me to be in your movie? My acting is obviously better than hers,” Song Jin pouted coquettishly.
“How could I afford Best Actress Song? The pay is too high, and I’m just a poor director,” Duan Yan laughed.
Song Jin buried her face in Duan Yan’s shoulder, her voice muffled, “I don’t want any pay. I’ll act for free.”
Seeing Song Jin still fixated on this matter, Duan Yan played her trump card, “It’s getting late now. If you don’t want it, then I’m going to sleep.”
Hearing this, Song Jin immediately became anxious.
Even her fluffy ears popped out.
“I want it! You’re not allowed to sleep!”
…
The lotus flower was mercilessly kneaded.
It had no strength left and hung limply, able only to lie there softly.
The little orange cat, however, was completely satisfied.
It had tasted the sweet dew of the lotus flower to its heart’s content, carefully licking every petal.
Song Jin’s arms wrapped around, gently holding Duan Yan’s slender waist.
Her lips drew close to Duan Yan’s ear.
“Let’s get married during the National Day long holiday.”
“Why the sudden thought of getting married?”
Today was the fourth anniversary of them being together.
She had already retired from acting, but Song Jin was at the peak of her career.
Duan Yan was worried that marriage would affect Song Jin’s career.
“I know what you’re worried about, but I don’t care. I just want the whole world to know you’re mine.”
“Even if we don’t get married, I’m still yours, you silly kitty.”
Duan Yan’s eyes were as clear as a lake, full of deep affection and love for Song Jin.
“If you really want this, I won’t have any objections.”
“Then let’s get married tomorrow!”
“Okay.”
Duan Yan’s reply echoed in the room.
Song Jin contentedly held Duan Yan’s hand and peacefully fell asleep.
